I was speechless.
Just as I thought, Damon wasn't one to take a hit without giving one back. I genuinely thought he'd just got beaten up, and the guy walked away without a scratch.
"Why were they fighting? I thought you said Daniel went to apologize to Damon?" Clara appeared confused.
Cooper, having been a bystander, surely knew what went down, but he seemed hesitant to speak and even glanced at me.
That got me a little scared. I was seriously worried he'd say it was because of me again.
Cooper cleared his throat and said, "Daniel said some nasty things about Eliana. Damon had a few drinks in him, so he lost it."
I just facepalmed, speechless. Cooper might as well not have said anything.
Now everyone was looking at me with different expressions on their faces.
"When Eliana was crazy about him, why didn't he appreciate it?" Luna, always direct, said angrily.
