I was the one who suggested meeting with Jones, so it was only right that I drove him home.
Jones was staying in an apartment arranged by the hospital. It wasn't too far from where I was renting, but it would still take about half an hour to walk. He was the silent type. And I was feeling down, not in the mood for chit–chat. We hardly spoke during the entire ride.
When we arrived at his apartment building, Jones didn't go straight up. Instead, he asked me, "Eliana, what if things between Damon and Ariel aren't as you imagine? Would you change your mind?"
That was almost exactly the question Damon had asked. My answer remained the same 'No, I wouldn't. My heart is already full of pain. Changing my mind would only bring more pain."
Jones gave a small smile "True, but if a lot of things turn out to be misunderstandings, and you end up wanting to change your mind, I'll support you"
"You'd support me?" I was surprised.
