Despite her laughter, Persephone didn't sense any malice in Rael's words. In fact, she found his straightforward nature rather refreshing.
"Okay, Chaos Adept, it's decided then. We'll work together, and I'll make sure to keep you in check when your chaotic tendencies get the best of you." Persephone smiled at Rael, who couldn't help but grin back.
"You know, Persephone, I have a feeling we're going to make a great team. But, enough about us. What about your companions?" Rael gestured towards the ranked lifeforms that had been keeping their distance.
"Oh, you mean my friends?" Persephone chuckled, addressing Rael's earlier remark. "Let me introduce you to them."
Persephone began naming the various ranked lifeforms, and Rael couldn't help but be impressed by their diversity and power.
There was a gray wolf, a massive eagle with shimmering feathers, a serpent with iridescent scales, and a few others that resembled animals from Earth, such as two bears, a fox, even a squirrel.
"These are my companions, and they are more than just 'beasts.' Each one has a unique ability and serves a specific purpose in our group."
Rael nodded, his curiosity piqued. "Impressive. I can see why you value them so much. But now that we're allies, what do you say we put their abilities to good use? There's something I've been itching to do."
Persephone raised an eyebrow. "And what would that be, Rael?"
Rael's eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Hunting other ranked lifeforms. I've heard rumors that there are powerful creatures out there, and I think it's time we test our strength and expand our abilities. What do you say, Persephone?"
Persephone's face lit up with enthusiasm. "That sounds like an exciting plan, Rael. But why are you calling me Perse?"
"I think it's shorter than your name..." With a serious expression, Rael didn't bat an eye at Persephone's furious glare.
It's been two hours since Rael and Persephone began their hunting streak. Since both of them were top rank synergy were simply divine.
Using Persephone's friends as scouts and the like, Rael was like a killing machine that didn't seem to know how to do something else.
Even Persephone was impressed by his raw power. 'He's so powerful without even using a single Skill. I wonder what else he has in store. Even those F+ Rank Lifeforms fell in his hands without getting to use their advantage.'
'It's like Rael is casually slapping some kids, just that he's been killing powerful monsters that don't exist in our world and could possibly be the top predators on Earth...'
A bit speechless from Rael's performance, Persephone even wondered if he needed her; she felt pretty useless, just like an extra in a second-rate novel.
"What's wrong, Perse?" Asked Rael when he observed that something was off with Persephone.
"Stop calling me Perse!" Suddenly shouting, Persephone cleared her throat before saying, "It's nothing, I just thought you are doing everything; while I'm only watching you. And you're even giving me half of the White Crystals! I don't like that..."
Hearing why Persephone sounded like that, Rael was at a loss for words; he didn't understand why she hated this situation so much. In his eyes, he proceeded correctly by also splitting the loot with her, after all, her companions did the scouting.
Thus, Rael had an easier time finding new targets, something which was his biggest problem in the past.
Rael scratched his head, a perplexed expression on his face. "I'm sorry, Persephone. I didn't mean to make you feel useless or take everything for myself."
"I thought we were just being efficient and sharing the rewards fairly. If you'd like, we can discuss a different arrangement for splitting the loot or how we approach things."
Persephone's anger softened as she realized that Rael had no ill intentions. "I appreciate that, Rael."
"Let's continue doing this, but how about we set a clear plan and agreement on how to divide the spoils and contributions evenly from now on? That way, we can both feel more involved."
Rael nodded in agreement. "That sounds fair. Let's make sure we have a balanced partnership where both of us won't feel useless."
Rael and Persephone continued their hunt, meanwhile becoming a formidable duo.
After a few minutes, there was a sudden change ahead of them; one ranked lifeform seemed to have felt and attacked the snake under Persephone's command.
"Let's go and see what thing dares to attack your friend." As Rael said this, he suddenly accelerated forward, making it hard for Persephone to keep up with him.
Passing a few tens of trees, Rael finally got to see what creature tried to make a meal out of Persephone's companion.
'That's... A wild boar?' A bit surprised by the appearance of the wild boar, Rael didn't dare to underestimate it.
That's because the wild boar in front of him had reddish fur and was close to 3 meters tall; not only that, it also emanated the same aura as the Alpha he encountered before, it was an E- Rank Lifeform.
'This should be pretty interesting.' Thought Rael with a smile, as he licked his lips; the young man was ready to try his luck and kill another powerful beast.
The wild boar, upon seeing Rael, stopped bashing his head on the tree where Persephone's snake climbed; and instead, prepared himself to charge at Rael.
"Hehe, come here. Tonight we're going to eat some steak..." Laughing in the face of danger, Rael equipped his Black Alpha and activated his Bloodline Skill, First Chaos.
His eyes darkened a bit, while his hair seemed even blacker than before; Rael felt a powerful energy coursing through his body, one that became even more pronounced after using Chaotic Flux and Random Strike as he sped up towards the wild boar who finished his charging.
Just when Persephone arrived, the first thing she saw was the E- Rank Lifeform trying to bash Rael, "Be careful!! That's an E-Ranked Lifeform!"
Her shout seemed to not have been received by Rael, as he smashed his sword forward; stopping the wild boar's charge and even pushing the latter back...
'What's happening here?!' Thought Persephone in shock, as Rael seemed to be slightly stronger than the E- Ranked Lifeform.
'He's... Winning?'
