Slowly, Damien opened his eyes. He found himself in a shabby room that looked like it belonged to a medieval-era pauper. When he tried to move his body, he realized he couldn't feel or move it.
"Hmm?"
The door of the room slowly opened, and three people walked in. One was a guy with cat ears and a tail, followed by another guy with similar looks but with red eyes; this one was completely human, though. Lastly, a beautiful lady with fox ears and seven tails swaying behind her entered.
"Ah, you guys are finally awake," the first guy said. "I'm Damian, your original."
'What's this guy saying?' Damien thought. 'And why is his name similar to mine?'
That was when Damien's body turned by itself, and he saw seven other people lying on different beds. Some were guys, and some were girls; there were also racial variations amongst them.
"I'm sure you all have questions about who you are and other things. Don't worry too much; you will all know soon," the man who called himself Damian said as he walked forward and put his hand on one of them. "Your name is Noah, and you shall be the converter."
A golden light shone after that. Noah scrunched his brows a bit before relaxing and standing up. He then went and stood behind Damian.
'What did he do to him?' Damien thought.
"Your name shall be Alexandra, and you will be the ruler." A brighter golden light shone on the woman before she repeated the same actions as the previous person.
"Your name shall be Patricia, Patricia the enforcer." The woman repeated the same actions as the previous two, and then it was Damien's turn.
He put his hand on my forehead and smiled. "You will bear a similar name to mine. Your name shall be Damien, and you will be the controller."
SHIIIIINNNG!
A massive headache assaulted Damien. His ears started ringing, and he felt pain in my eyes as some words appeared in front of his eyes.

Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned to hours, which in turn became days. Damien's eyes slowly opened, and this time around, he was seeing a familiar ceiling. The only people around him now were the two beauties who appeared to have dozed off while watching over him. One was laying her head on his bed, her red hair slightly covering her face, making her look like a vulnerable beauty in contrast to her normal appearance. The other was snoring cutely while laying her head on his bed; she was even... drooling?
Damien decided to let them be. Besides he had something else to do right now.

He had finally gained an ability, even though it was heavily dependent on his subordinates. It was still an ability. Now, no one would look down on him anymore.
As if sensing his excitement, the two girls beside him woke up simultaneously. They both yawned and stretched at the same time, making Damien draw his gaze away from them and face forward, like a soldier at attention.
The two girls chuckled at his reaction.
"What are you so excited about?" Mary asked.
Damien didn't say anything and decided to show them directly. He immediately activated the Controller's Aura.
[CONTROLLER'S AURA]
An invisible wave of energy flowed out from Damien, almost immediately covering the entire room and bathing Mary in its effects.
"What was that?" Adele asked, looking around with a wary gaze.
"I feel stronger," Mary said, closing and opening her fist. "Is this from you, Damien?"
"Yes," Damien replied. "Its effects only work on my subordinates, though."
"Why are you acting so tense?" He asked, looking at Adele.
"I suddenly felt a powerful presence sweep over me," she replied. "I felt completely naked in front of it. It was as if all my secrets were laid open in its presence."
"I felt the same," Mary replied. "But it didn't feel hostile to me."
'I see ' Damien thought. 'So it buffs my subordinates and scares other people.'
"Team five in the house," a voice echoed from the door.
"Quiet down! Don't you realize the captain is..."
By now, Damien had already deactivated his skill, going unnoticed.
"CAAAAPPPPTTTTAAAAIIIINNNN!"
Their voices roared like wild beasts as they rushed toward Damien, playfully tackling him, which made Damien chuckle.
"Did I mishear?" a girl suddenly questioned.
"No, you didn't; the captain just laughed," someone else confirmed.
"This calls for a celebration," Adele suggested. "Let's go; I'll cover the expenses."
"YEEAAHH!" the team cheered as they carried Damien out like a celebrity. Adele stayed behind, lost in thought.
'Should I... no, there's another time for that; for now, let's celebrate,' she thought before joining the group.
But things don't always go as expected.
"I was wondering where the noise was coming from," Erick's voice came from the right. "As expected of the trash team."
"How dare..."

An invisible wave suddenly emanated from Damien, triggering varied reactions from both sides. On Damien's team, surprise filled their faces, while Erick's turned as pale as paper. Some of his weaker subordinates fainted outright, and the stronger ones dropped to their knees.
"You... you," Erick stammered, repeating like a broken record, while Damien's team burst into cheers.
"Captain, you've finally awakened."
"And what a powerful ability it is."
"This deserves a bigger celebration."
"Yeah! All bills on captain Adele !"
Adele could only offer a wry smile as Damien's team openly discussed how they would drain her wallet.
