The days flew by for Carter and Daniel, after feeling like their days would never end when they were hardly talking having them fly by was a bit odd at first, but they soon got used to the new pace of their days, they would follow their usual cycle, they got up and either one of them prepared breakfast whilst the other would get Andrea ready for daycare, then after breakfast they would get ready for work - on the way to work they would drop Andrea off at daycare and then head to the office, they would work and attend meetings and lunches as needed, and once work was done they would excitedly race out of their office and go pick up Andrea from daycare, then heading home.
They both felt a bit lighter after their talk, their friendship felt a little stronger than before and to Daniel he could tell that Carter seemed to be happier after making his official decision regarding Angela - he still had to tell his mother about it and officially tell Angela it was over, but he was just waiting for a proper time to meet his mother and talk to her about it.
The two were still in Carter's office, lunch had finally arrived and just as promised they were planning on heading to the bank to set up a joint account for Andrea's expenses, they were busy finishing off the last bit of their work that needed to be done before they could leave, the two were quite focused that was until there was a short knock on the office door which drew their attention - the door swung open revealing Gavin - Carter's older brother.
"Hello boys" he greeted with a big smile and cheerful tone.
"Hello!" Both Carter and Daniel greeted in unison, which caused them to chuckle a little.
"Planning on heading out?" Gavin asked the two curiously.
"Yeah, we are planning on heading to the bank to open a joint account for Andrea and then if there is some time left we are going to go get her some new clothes since she is outgrowing hers," Carter told his brother.
"Hmm, seems interesting, then how about I cover the rest of your schedule, and you head out to get those things done?" Gavin offered, confusing both Carter and Daniel.
Gavin laughed a little and then smiled at his little brother, "When Hunter and Jake came along you took over my schedule's and let me spend time with my family, whenever I had to go do something family related you took over my schedule even when yours was busy, now it's my turn, I will take over whatever you still have left for the day, you two go and get your things done" Gavin told his brother.
Carter was a little surprised, but he couldn't help but smile a bit, "Okay, then Danny will you send over the rest of my schedule for today to Gav's Secretary" Carter told Daniel who happily did as he was told, with a few taps on his tablet he quickly sent over the files and schedule.
"Great, then you two finish up this last bit and get going" Gavin said excitedly, he started heading to the door and then spun around with a loud 'oh'
"There will be a family dinner tonight at mom's, she asked me to tell you when I see you during the day, so see you both tonight and remember to bring my niece, I want to meet her as well" Gavin said and continued leaving before either Carter or Daniel could respond in the end the two shared a look and laughed a bit.
"It's good to have him back" Carter said with a big smile, his brother was always someone who was bright and friendly, Carter always felt like if the season of Summer had to be personified it would end up being his big brother.
They quickly finished up their work and hurried out of the office. Once they got to the parking lot they basically raced one another to the car, both laughing like little kids, they just felt happy and giddy. Once they were in the car they headed over to the bank, luckily they made an appointment with Carter's usual account manager since the bank was quite busy.
It took a few minutes to get everything sorted but luckily when making the appointment they found out what they needed to bring along for the account which made the whole process go a lot faster than they expected, once the account was set up both placed money into the account and headed on their way to go do some clothes shopping for Andrea.
When they got to the mall, they walked around a bit and got a bite to eat first before heading to the clothes shops. They went from one shop to another, grabbing a few pieces of clothing from each store. They weren't sure what exactly to get since it was starting to get cooler, so they got clothes for both autumn and winter - the winter clothes being a few sizes bigger with the thought of her growing into them.
When they finally finished clothes shopping Carter dragged Daniel to the nearest baby furniture store, Daniel was a little confused, they already had a few pieces of furniture for Andrea in his room, so he wasn't sure why they were at the store.
"I want to make a nursery for Andrea, when you two first came to live with me, we didn't have much time to make her a proper room but after thinking for a bit, she will get bigger and having her own room for toys, clothes and everything else would be much better than having you two share a room" Carter explained as he walked around a little whilst browsing.
"Hmm I see, yeah that makes a bit of sense I guess" Daniel said with a small nod, Carter smiled a little.
"I like the crib we have at home, so I am thinking of using that as the main piece of furniture and all the other furniture we pick will be picked to match it, and then I was thinking you know instead of just getting someone to do everything for us, how about we paint the room ourselves? And do basically all the decorating ourselves?" Carter suggested.
"That sounds good to me, a nice little project to do outside of work" Daniel said with a big smile.
"Great, then let's get to shopping," Carter said excitedly.
The two walked throughout the whole store, they picked things they liked and made arrangements for everything to be delivered later and their last stop before picking up Andrea was going to the hardware store to pick out the paint they would use for her room.
They stood in the pain section for quite a while, neither could really decide on a color for the walls.
"Hmm, Carter, how about this pastel green? We have a lot of blues, pinks and yellows for the room and only a few pieces of green. What if we make the walls this green to tie in the little bit of green we have?" Daniel suggested, and Carter thought a little and then excitedly nodded his head.
"That sounds good to me" Carter said as he grabbed the swatch of green they wanted, and the two headed over to the custom paint counter to have their pain made.
It took a few minutes but after getting their paint they quickly went to pay and left for the daycare - they picked up Andrea and headed home.
They relaxed a little at home, playing with Andrea, and once she fell asleep the two watched a movie together while waiting for the delivery.
Once the delivery came, they moved everything into one of the rooms, deciding to get everything sorted the next day.
"We should get ready for dinner" Carter said as he glanced at the clock once they saw the delivery guys out.
"Yeah, I will go get Andy dressed and get ready" Daniel said with a smile before heading to his room, Carter went to his own room and got ready for the night, he felt a lot lighter, even at the thought that he would have to tell his mother he was breaking off his engagement, he just felt happy, he had a good day filled with a lot of laughter and fun.
