The dining room was bathed in the warm glow of the chandelier, its crystal accents scattering soft light across the expansive table. Stacy followed Mr. Qin into the room, her brows furrowed in confusion as her eyes fell on the elaborate spread before her.
The table was laden with an array of dishes that looked straight out of a high-end banquet. Roasted drumsticks glistened under the light, their golden-brown skin perfectly crisp.
Platters of tender beef, rich in color and aroma, sat alongside bowls of steaming vegetables and artfully arranged side dishes.
Sauces in delicate porcelain bowls added vibrant pops of color to the table. It was a feast, extravagant and over the top for just the two of them.
She hesitated at the threshold, her gaze darting between the food and Mr. Qin. "Are we hosting an event or something?" she asked, her tone laced with skepticism.
"No," he replied simply, gesturing toward a chair. "Sit."
