Calista glared at the little girl who looked at her with a toothy grin while waving a pen and a book in her hand. She watched the child drag her long, bright red hair as she walked toward her. Her eyes moved to the little girl's other hand, reaching for her.
"Come and join us, my lady. I came to see you after all," she said and giggled which made Calista more suspicious.
For a moment, Calista's body was out of her control. She almost held her hand if not for the duke interrupting the redhead child.
"Get away from her," Damian said as he stood in between the two, blocking the lady from the child. "You don't expect me to let you touch her with the same hands you used to kill them, do you?"
