"The lady said she wants to sleep," Lola told Coton when the latter followed them. "It's not the best time to talk to her," she added.
"Do you think she will have time to talk to the duke tomorrow?" Coton asked, surprised that the maid wasn't ignoring him this time. He almost doubted himself if he was really talking to the same 'Lola' who always seemed to be mad at him.
"Maybe. I don't know. You'll find out tomorrow," the maid said and shrugged. "It's late now, so I'm retiring to bed as well. You may not know it yet but the lady always wakes up at dawn if she sleeps early and I have to be awake before she does," Lola added as she looked into the aide's eyes.
"Good night," she muttered, patting his head and walking past before him.
"What was that?" Coton mumbled to himself, dumbfounded.
