During these last few weeks, I often had bouts of uncertainty. Primarily because of what had happened. But also because of what I'd done.
I had no idea why the serpent woke up and I had no way of knowing if the whole event was manmade. Heck, I didn't even know if it could have been avoided if I just spoke to the serpent before firing my skill.
I'd grown far too conceited over just how strong my skills were. And they were, they were strong. But….
I kept thinking back about the city, about the people, about…my fuckup. But was in the past. I'd run away and here I was, in a village. Staring at the dancing grass, at the fields of green, and at the poor people working to keep themselves fed.
"I wanted to escape, I wanted to run away and live in a village like this. Away from everything."
"You could still do that," I said.
