Every chapter will switch between one of the two MCs points of view from now on. Sorry if this is disorienting for some people.

It's quiet.
All I feel is warmth and comfort inside of this dark little space.
There's something else I feel. There's someone else here with me, floating just like I am. I reach out and touch them, feeling soft and smooth.
Suddenly, the once comfortable space feels cramped and suffocating. I begin to squirm, uncurling my neck as I feel my snout hit the wall of what is now my prison. I reach out, feeling my talons against the wall of my prison as I push against it. I feel the being who shares my prison move their talons next to mine, pressing against it as well.
I feel the prison crack beneath my talons, driving me to press even harder against it.
The side of the prison completely breaks open as we both fall out of it, straight onto the ground.
I take my first breath, my lungs fill completely with air. The new feeling of my lungs inflating and deflating, as well as the new smells of the world I have stepped into invigorate me. I feel something cold and hard underneath my body.
I open my eyes for the first time, the light hurts my eyes as I take in my new surroundings. The ground that I'm laying on is gray as is what's above me, but everything around me is blue. A figure catches my eye as I turn my head towards it, only to find that it's looking at me as well. It looks like it's my size. It has black scales and blue eyes, as well as talons on its front legs and paws on its back ones.
I push myself off the ground and take a couple steps before tumbling to the ground. I look up to see them attempting the same, before tumbling down just as I did. We both try again, managing to reach each other as we begin to inspect one another. I reach out and feel his soft and smooth scales, just as I had before. They do the same. I feel a connection with them, it's as if I can sense how they're feeling.
The walls begin to move, startling us both as we look around. I look behind me, seeing a massive head looking down at me. Their bright green eyes are locked on both of us. I begin to tremble at the sight of the massive creature looking down at us, and so do they.
The edges of the creature's mouth curls up into a smile as they lean down and nudge the shell of the encasement they were once in towards them. I hadn't paid it any attention until now. Seeing it, I feel a strange urge to consume it. The black creature seemed to have gotten the same idea, he began to eat it before I did. I hurriedly went over to it and began eating as well.
I ended up eating around half of it fairly quickly. It tasted good. I look up at the creature that is staring down at us. They're still smiling. After eating, I feel oddly sleepy. I take slow steps over to the black creature, who is looking sleepy as well. I lay down beside him as he lays down as well. I close my eyes and drift off to sleep, right next to them.

I wake up to strange sounds echoing through the space as I look up groggily. I'm no longer surrounded by blue, and instead I see that everything is now gray, except for what looks like an opening in the side of the space with green on the other side of it.
I look in the opposite direction of the opening, spotting the massive blue creature sitting down a bit away from me and looking down at us.
"Bene salve ibi, parve one." She made strange sounds by moving her lips, but they made a strange amount of sense. As if I'm supposed to know what they're saying. And they're still smiling. They do that a lot. "Audi modo et intelleges." They made more noises. The more they speak, the more I understand.
I notice the black creature beside me is also awake and listening. I look up and pay attention to the blue creature. Time passes as we intently listen to whatever she says, until we find ourselves strangely understanding their words.
"Now can you understand, boys?" They speak, their voice is oddly soothing as it echoes throughout the space. I try to reply with what I know, but I find myself struggling to move my mouth and lips in the correct way.
They laugh as we both move our mouths in strange ways and make strange sounds, attempting to speak.
"I'll take that as a yes. Now that you've learned how to speak, you should learn what you are." We stop attempting to speak and once again focus on them. "Now, listen well. You both have been created as the greatest species in this world. You are dragons." Their voice raises When they say the last three words, their smile growing larger.
"Dragons are more powerful than any other, including those prideful and arrogant 'gods'." Her smile faded after saying this. "We hold the Elements themselves, we can control them more than any other can. We do not need to rely on others for survival, we do not show pity to the weak. We only answer to our king, who holds enough power to destroy this world with one spell." I listen intently, not understanding much. Hearing them speak fills me with pride.
They smile again, looking down at us. "Tell me, are you proud to be a dragon?" Hearing this, me and the other dragon both let out enthusiastic roars, much to the blue dragons satisfaction. They get up and walk close to us, leaning down with a smile.
"Good."
