Generally, the physical props needed were very detailed small items, such as benches, trash cans, neon lights, and the like on the streets. These objects might appear small, but they were incredibly detailed. Using special effects to synthesize them not only made it difficult to recreate a sense of reality but also incurred high costs, so it was better to spend a little money and buy real props.
