Chapter 16 - My Seatmate is a Master (1) - Meeting the Villain

[Story package opening...]

Character: Shira Cross (official hostname)

Age: 16

Villain mate: Kiba Roosevelt

| Kiba Roosevelt, a young man from an aristocratic family, was bullied by his peers for being fat. He had severe, persistent asthma, which prevented him from doing what he liked. He was also very sickly since he was a child.

Kiba was very smart, but his parents loved his elder brother more. With a perfect face, his elder brother, Hiro, is the story's hero. He was a vigorous child who won gold when joining the Olympics. He was not only good at sports but also a delinquent who hated studying. The relationship between the two brothers can be described as respectful.

Hiro failed to pass the 12th grade and wasn't promoted to college, so he became classmates with his younger brother, Kiba. Everything was normal till Fina, a transfer student, broke the peace. The transfer student was smart, and she liked talking to Kiba about academics. She wasn't aware that she was luring the delinquent brother of her friend.

To impress Fina, Hiro decided to study, but he could not reach the place next to Fina. Hiro asked for help from his brother, and Kiba taught him well, which impressed Fina. But when Fina and Hiro started to date, all the homework, projects, and even quizzes were passed on by Hiro to Kiba to get a high grade. Kiba worked alone for two people without saying anything.

But he suddenly felt tired when someone threatened and stopped him from approaching Fina. The bullying worsened in the second semester, and he would always go home with bruises. He was so unmotivated to study that he failed a subject, and his brother got angry. Hiro hit Kiba for the first time, and their parents also blamed Kiba because his brother failed, and Kiba started blackening.

He wanted revenge, so he studied programming and hacking. He aced his subjects and left home when his savings could buy him a new house. He targeted his brother and recorded a video of him meeting other girls behind Fina's back. Fina hated Kiba for ruining her relationship with Hiro. Kiba did not understand why Fina would hate him until he found out that she was only with his brother because of money.

With the help of Hiro's friends, they ruined Kiba by publishing his embarrassing pictures to the world. He became subjected to cyberbullying and finally died of a heart attack. |

"Lea, do you know when will the dance practice start?"

"Ester, can I copy your homework?"

"Candice! Candice! Let's go! I am starving!"

"I'm coming, Mae!"

"Elca, come join us!"

The room was cold, even with the sun shining bright outside. The students were noisy and loud. They never cared if the teacher had not yet exited the room. They liked to shout and hurry out for lunch.

[Milady, wake up...]

"I'm awake, Lemolemo. Can you tell me about my life experience?" Lucienna could feel the soreness of her arms, which pillowed her head for who knows how long the original owner slept.

[Milady, you are a wealthy young lady from an aristocratic household, and your house is next door to Kiba. Your parents and his are business partners...]

"That's not what I am asking. I want you to explain why my current setting is a scumbag who can't study well? And why will I die saving the heroine? How can I die for a person who uses others to make money?"

[Milady, please calm down. This is just the story's setting... You can change it, Milady.]

"Well, it's not bad being a salted fish for once. I've long wanted to escape from..."

[Milady! No! You can't be a salted fish! Studying must be your priority! The Villain likes intelligent people, and you can only stand beside him if your grades rank at the top of the whole year level! Milady, please work hard!]

"You want me to impress him?"

[Can't you?]

Lucienna yawned as she stretched her sore arms. Her seatmate hadn't left his chair, and only the two of them were in the room. "Is this the Villain?"

[Yes, Milady.]

"I bet he's hot when he slims down. But I prefer seeing the face of Thanatos. I wonder how he's doing?"

[Will you cure him, Milady?]

"I want to complete the task fast. If helping him become healthy and pulling him out of depression by being his friend or lover can make the completion rate move, I will likely do it."

[Thank you, Milady!]

"Must you be so happy, Lemolemo?"

[I am happy because the master isn't heartless and impulsive. The hosts of other systems made them unlucky. They were hard-headed, and they liked breaking the rules.]

"There are rules?"

[Different systems have different rules, Milady.]

"What is your rule, then?"

[Make the Villain fall in love.]

"What a boring little rule..."

Lucienna wanted to talk to his seatmate, but a man in a black tuxedo appeared at their classroom door. "Young lady, your meal for the day is here."

[Milady, that is Butler Kang, the old and wise Bulter of the Cross family. He usually delivers your meals.]

Lucienna walked to Butler Kang and received the lunch bag. "Thank you, Butler Kang. Please help me tell my father that he also needs to eat on time and shouldn't worry about me."

"Very well, young lady." Butler Kang did not stay long and bid his farewell.

[Milady, don't forget your identity.]

"I know, I am Shira. I remember well."

Shira approached Kiba and asked, "Will you be my friend and dine with me?"

"Why me?" Kiba responded, but his voice was low and timid.

Shira chuckled, "Because I want to improve my grades. You're the person at the top of the chain. And I want to ask for your help."

"Okay..."

Shira and Kiba dined together.

The transfer student, Fina, hasn't made it to their school yet because it's still early in the chronology. Three days later, Fina will formally begin attending Grade 12 Alpha. The time allotted for the mission restricts Shira's plans, and Shira must win Kiba's trust and attention in a short period.

Supposedly, Fina's family circumstances were even more challenging. As the narrative goes, the charming young girl was initially under the care of her mother following her parents' divorce. However, due to her mother's overseas business commitments, it became impractical for her to continue looking after Fina, so she was entrusted to her father's care.

Her father has recently restructured his family, introducing new members and children into the mix. In reality, the level of care she receives from her father is rather subpar. It can be noted that financial support is inconsistent, and he doesn't appear to have a strong inclination to spend time with his daughter.

Fina was lonely. After transferring to an elite academy, she made friends with the smartest and wealthiest students. Meeting Hiro and getting involved with him in an intimate relationship was never her plan. But with less and less money her father gave her, she was swayed to commit to Hiro.

Kiba passed his homework to Shira. "If you haven't done math, you can learn from mine. If you have written it, you can compare your answers to mine. The teacher is strict. If you want to improve your grades, you can start by learning with me."

"Thanks." Shira received Kiba's paper, and she praised him for his penmanship.

"Lemolemo, look at this paper. His writing is very neat and measured!"

[Milady, you haven't done any homework yet. You need to work hard!]

"All her homework must have been pending, too! It makes me want to jump and be a salty fish!"

[Please don't scare my poor heart!]

Shira chuckled as she started working on her homework.

Kiba couldn't help but stare at his seatmate, who was engrossed in writing her homework. "Why did she approach me? We've been seatmates since I started learning in this academy, but talking to me is rare. We are also neighbors, but she rarely goes with her parents to gatherings. Why would she want to befriend me now?"

Kiba couldn't stop overthinking, so his mouth slipped some words Shira never expected he would say.

"Do you like my brother?"

The sudden inquiry took Shira aback. She did not stop writing, nor did she face Kiba's curiosity. "Do you think he's like money?"

"What?" Kiba was puzzled.

"Your brother ain't money. Not everyone will like him. And why would I like someone at the bottom of the class looking like a decoration? I'm allergic to flowers, remember? So why will I buy a vase?" Shira chuckled as her hand speed doubled.

Kiba was stunned. He thought, "My mother has flower collections, and they're blooming in the yard. When I was young, I asked my mother why Aunt Isabelle never planted flowering plants in her garden, but I forgot my mother's answer. So, it was because she was allergic to flowers."

"Am I so pretty that you keep staring at me?" This time, Shira's eyes met Kiba's gaze, and the young man shied away.

"Lemolemo, how can an innocent boy blacken to the point of destroying his family?"

[Milady, I am only a system... I don't know how people's emotions evolve.]

Lemolemo's answer made Shira chuckle, 'Me, too.'
