"Flexy!"
Max shouted at the frozen Flexy while picking out the axe he had thrown earlier. Every barbarian that came to him earlier was either turned into a blob of flesh or was cut into two.
"Let's continue!"
Flexy snapped out of his thoughts and blinked. The sight before him was too unreal, but he remembered that he was still streaming, so he reacted professionally.
"Yeah!" He ran toward the blood-covered Max. "That was a nice one, Breeze! You're like a typhoon coming for them, impaling everyone that gets close to punishment!"
"Hahaha, that was easy." Max laughed and slung his axes on his back. "Anyway, let's continue as planned. I will take and guard the flag while you defeat the boss."
"Right. I am counting on you, partner!"
"Don't die on me too!"
After talking to confirm their plans, both of them moved once again. This time, they moved in a slightly different direction.
Their split started now.
Usually, people who had never played with each other in co-op wouldn't dare to do this, but Flexy and Max had talked before and weren't afraid of failure.
As agreed before, the first run was a test run. No matter the outcome, they would fix it for the next run.
So they were free to experiment with things or even mess up in this as long as they finished the objective.
'Let's not hit the path immediately. Following the one in StoneSword's video might be good enough for the first run and keep my path as a surprise for later.'
Thinking so, Breeze went to the highest part of the hill, which jutted out slightly and covered half of the fort's northern wall. That was the original route that people often took to get to the objective faster.
Naturally, Max would use it as he also believed it was the optimal way, as only a few enemies existed in that part. But of course… That was if the RNG god was on his side.
Max didn't decrease his speed even a little as he jumped on the wall and grabbed the top side, pulling his body up. This part, which was the hardest for other people, was easy for him, just like walking to the part.
— So smooth.
— Smooth detective?
— What a way to avoid copyright, but yeah. Breeze's movement is so smooth! Like my thighs!
— Doubt. You have hairy thighs, confirmed.
There were 3 barbarians waiting for him above. They were surprised at how fast Max climbed the wall and hadn't yet unsheathed their weapons.
Using their surprise as a chance, Max immediately dashed to them and threw one axe at the farthest enemy. It lodged in his neck and killed him immediately.
"AAANNNDDD!!" One barbarian shouted at his friend's death, taking his eyes off Max.
That was a mistake.
"That's over." Max coldly announced their death.
Max's speed was faster than average, even when he wore full-plate armor. He reached the nearest barbarian and cut his vulnerable neck without hesitation, followed by the next barbarian by throwing his axe.
Three barbarians died just like that. After getting used to the movement in the game, Max was able to pull all his potential and became more deadly! It was actually thanks to the tips he read in Galaxy Gym's VR room.
'It's working.' He thought as he recovered his axes and ran to the nearby door to head to another side. 'I am also not as exhausted as I am supposed to be. Limiting useless thoughts when moving fast really decreases the load in my brain.'
The VR capsule read brainwaves and converted them into data. It had 100% accuracy and could replicate realism inside the game.
However, that was also its downside. Because all information was converted into data, even useless information, such as when a player was thinking about what to eat after gaming, was also converted, thus taking more energy needed.
The trick to minimize that was just to focus on one thing. That was what Max applied in the battle earlier. He just focused on killing the barbarians and nothing else, not even his next move.
Because complicated thoughts were minimalized for this trick, it couldn't be used in a large-scale battle or a battle that needed a strategy to win. That was its second downside.
'Now I just need to go to the southern wall and use the tight rope to reach the main fort building.'
When Max reached another part of the wall, five barbarians ambushed him. Three of them attacked from the front, while two jumped from the tower that connected the northern wall with the west one.
He was surrounded from all sides, and he could use only a small space to move around.
— Breeze is a pinch!
— Will this be his first death on stream?
— How can he dodge them? Find out after the commercial break!
— Break your 4$$, there are no ads in Punch for a premium account!
— Shut up! Watch Breeze die!
Everyone expected him to be unable to dodge this attack. No matter where one saw it, this was unlucky, and the chance to be ambushed by 5 barbarians at once was slim.
But… Max didn't panic. He had expected this after watching many failed runs and analyzing them before. So, he already planned the way out.
Turning around, he sent a roundhouse kick toward the two barbarians dropping from above as they came faster than the ones from the front. He needed to deal with them first.
His kick connected with one, blowing him to his friend, and both fell from the narrow ledge to the ground.
Three barbarians were left. They were already closing in and only 2 meters away from him.
"Die!"
"Get shredded!"
"I refuse!" Max answered their shouts with a grin as he jumped back. His feet were planted on the wall, and he kicked hard.
His body flew in the air, passing the barbarians from above. They looked surprised as Max rolled around the ground to reduce the impact and ran away.
Yes, Max just ignored them and ran toward the southern wall.
The viewers were speechless as well. Due to how easily Max killed his enemies and how he massacred them before, they expected him to butcher the rest.
However, he actually ran away!
Breeze, the blood axe, or so the viewers called it, ran from barbarians without killing them!
— Who the hell is he?!
— KHAKAHHAHAHA
— He's running lol! Breeze didn't dye his axe in blood!
— W-Who is that?! I thought I was watching Breeze. Eh? Am I dreaming? Where am I?
— Welcome to heaven bud
— My right hand! It craves bl–… Huh? It doesn't hurt!
— Huh? Isn't that normal in a speedrun?
Only when a new viewer pointed it out did the others remember.
— That's right…
— This is a speedrun, not a normal mission…
Ding!
