JJ's breath hitched in her throat, but she didn't let it show. "You're not even considering that Ty could win."
"I don't have to," the man replied smoothly. "Because when it comes down to it, Alexander will exploit Ty's biggest weakness. And once that weakness is exposed, Ty won't stand a chance."
JJ opened her mouth to argue, but the man raised his hand, stopping her.
"Look," he said, his voice softening just slightly, though the steel in his gaze remained. "You want to protect your demon. I get that. But if you really think this fight will end well for him, you're deluding yourself. Demons like Ty were meant to be weapons—sharp, but fleeting. They weren't meant to last."
