The man nodded. "I believe so. I am not too familiar with the ways of this world anymore. I come from a different place, meant to ensure the Dragoon remains sealed. That means I cannot lead you to anyone. I hope you understand."
"What do you mean?" Sanguina demanded, her eyes narrowing as she reached out to grab his shoulder. But her hand passed through his form as he turned to mist.
"I believe you might have the strength to handle him, but I must follow the proper order. You are not allowed to leave until you pass the trials like everyone else," he replied, his voice echoing around her.
Suddenly, a gust of mist swirled around Sanguina, enveloping her in a cold, damp embrace. She spun around, trying to catch her bearings as the mist thickened, obscuring her vision. The metallic scent of magic and the chill of the mist made her shiver.
