Chapter 38 - War Games 3

{Sorry to those of you that were wanting chapters the last couple days, I got caught up playing Rust... It was wonderful. But anyways, Here we go!}

*Bjorn's POV*

I watched as the leading god of the Polynesian Pantheon, Kane, slapped Maui to the bottom of the ocean. Not really to surprised by the power he had shown. I did hear a peal of thunder in the distance. I knew my father had been watching.

Kane for his part looked into the distance and nodded after hearing the thunder.

"As I was say earlier. The War Games this year will be simple. Two armies will face off at a time. Through a simple process of elimination will we find the strongest army this year. Now I am sure everyone has noticed that the Asir only have 5 million in there army while you all have 15 million. It is because some petty and weak gods threw tantrums when they heard that Bjorn Thorson will be the commander of the Asir army this year." Kane paused letting his words linger. I could see it the look of confusion and indignation on some of the different leaders of the opposing pantheons.

I saw what Kane was doing, because of Maui's actions he is subtly letting everyone know that I have a smaller force then everyone. But it is also acting as a warning, and it spoke plainly as well. Bjorn Thorson is stronger then all of you.

"Now dear Bjorn is just that strong. None of you can match him and it would take nearly ten million soldiers to stop him alone. So with that said. The first match will be the Greek Pantheon against the Egyptian Pantheon. Armies prepare and show us who is stronger." Kane's voice boomed throughout the area.

I had thought for sure that Kane was going to make my army fight first. The fact that it was two of the strongest pantheons fighting was awesome. Though from the look in Kane's eyes when he looked at me last I could tell this was the last favor he was going to do for me. I couldn't complain.

In the grand scheme of things his actions may have seemed to not matter much but in reality his actions all but guaranteed that I would be winning these games.

Turning away from the chaos taking place as the different Armies shuffled to make room for the large battle about to take place. I looked over my own army. "Everyone hold tight. I will be moving the fleet." I let my voice boom out as I summoned my full power of the Divine King Realm and wrapped every ship in my fleet in my power.

Without wasting any time with unnecessary actions I lifted the entire fleet besides Baldir's hidden submarines. Floating through the sky my soldiers stared down with smug satisfaction. The look's on their faces said,' Look our commander can lift an entire army by himself and move us, is your commander strong enough to do that?'

In less then a minute I had moved my army out of the way and off to the side by more then a few miles. Battles at the scale of armies can become large especially when every soldier on both side have beyond supernatural powers. It is more as if the two armies end up being large forces of nature that are duking it out for dominance.

I felt a pair of small hands come and wrap around my bicep. Looking over I saw Ashlaine holding my arm and leaning close to me. I could feel her worry and trust in me. I could also feel that she was trying to help center me and keep my mind clear. The woman's silent vigil to stand at my side in times of danger warmed my heart greatly.

"I love you Ash, thank you." I spoke just to let her know I could see her trying to support me.

Tilting her head slightly Ashlaine looked up at my face and smiled softly.

"Any time my love. We are your strength and I just want you to remember that you will always have us even if you lose during these War Games."

I didn't quite understand what she meant but my mind jumped to the thought that my two resident time travelers may know more about the outcome of this event then they told me. Shooting a look over my shoulder at the two offenders I saw them staring off into the ocean as if something very interesting was happen in the distance.

"Loves, do you care to tell me the truth?"

Snapping her head toward me I saw small tears in Kat's eyes. I saw how she trembled even at this slight show of affection. Without waiting for Elraine to speak up Kat jumped in.

"Technically you are supposed to lose this time around. But after seeing your difference in power this time around I don't quite know if I can rely on my knowledge of future events. Your strength is becoming a factor changing the course of history. Well at least the history that I know of."

Pondering her words for a moment I asked a question that had been on my mind.

"So what happened how did I lose last time?"

Elraine took over here to answer my question.

"The Egyptian Army The Draconic Army and The Greek Armies all teamed up to wipe out your army in the first battle royal. With you strength only being at the Life Bringing Realm Peak last time, there was basically nothing you could have done to win." Taking a moment to let me process Elraine breathed deeply before continuing.

"You fought hard against all of there commanders single handedly holding them off so your forces could have some space to fight against the opposing armies. You fought them for 26 hours without faltering. It wasn't until the son of Anubis snuck up behind you during a particularly tense clash with Hercules's son that you actually fell in battle. Ashlaine and I tried to get to you in time, but with our cultivation being in the low Life Searching Realm we could not get to you in time to protect you from their ambush."

Just as we were discussing the future I felt the first collision of the opposing forces. The sounds of ships colliding rang out. Followed shortly by the sounds of shouts and clashing steel. Glancing towards the two armies. I watched with a curious look on my face. To say the least, Elraines words peaked my interest.
