Lage waited for news of her sister anxiously. Talila, Tannivee and Coret lingered nearby, the former two looking as anxious as Lage and the later almost excited.
"Mom, I think I can hear them!" Talila called to her.
Oribella came in first, her face stony and sad. Next came Ni and Lage threw herself into his arms.
"Are you hurt? What happened?" She said.
"She said she needed to protect the ones she loves," Oribella said with a dry sob.
Lage's heart sank further.
"Rara is gone then?" She asked.
"Yes, I think she is," Ni said, "She has made her choice."
"Rara would never give up," Lage sounded pleading.
"She stood in front of us like she would kill us!" Ni fumed.
Kinntho and Kithel slipped inside quietly.
"Our sister is gone," Kinntho took Lage's shoulders in her hands, "She's chosen Ilor."
No one had ever seen Lage angry but suddenly she was yelling, "Rara would never leave us! There's got to be a reason. She is doing this all for us and we aren't leaving her to suffer." Lage knelt to the ground, "We will find a way to save her."
No one felt like disagreeing.
"They must have known she'd be in danger. That's why I am the leader instead of Rara because I'm the only one who will never stop believing in her!" Lage continued to shout. "Father believed in me, now I need you all to."
Underneath their feet, the ground began to shake.
Slowly objects began to rise from the very ground. Lage watched in awe as a huge curved blade settled at her feet. She found it was attached to a staff with a deep breath she picked it up.
Kinntho found a book at her feet and opened it. Inside were words in another language.
Tannivee and Talila both picked up curved bows and a set of arrows.
Coret hoisted a sword high into the air. He let out a whoop as he sliced through the air.
Nerio had received a much smaller book bound in faded cloth. His sister received a pair of daggers.
Only Oribella received nothing.
"What are these Mom," Talila held her bow and looked perplexed.
"I believe your grandfather is sending us a message," Lage said gravely, "War is coming to us."
