Chapter 28 - Narative protectors

The sky, beautiful and seemingly endless, danced gracefully under the cool breeze flowing through the vast pillars. This heavenly realm, beyond any worldly aspects, stretched as far as the eye could see. Rowan, with his spear, wandered around the western world, intending to enjoy the view. Upon reaching a place, Rowan noticed clear water flowing from several floating monuments. He asked Bai Hu, the White Tiger, "If this is the western gate, who guards the other gates?" Bai Hu opened his mouth, and a cool breath came out as he answered, "There are four other grand gates located in different cardinal directions. All are hidden within the folds of primordial knowledge and have steadfast requirements for entry." Rowan asked again, "If each gate has firm requirements for entry, how could I enter this gate?" Bai Hu responded, "It was my desire that the gate be opened."

At the same time, Rowan felt a sense of wonder after hearing the phrase "four gates." If there are four gates representing the cardinal directions like west, east, south, and north, what does the fifth gate represent? Bai Hu, the White Tiger, replied, "There is a secret gate of the highest order, serving as the boundary between the world of cardinal directions and the world without direction. This gate is called Shahr." Rowan asked again, "The Shahr gate? What are the requirements to enter this gate?" Bai Hu answered, "Reaching the Shahr gate is akin to surpassing Constellations simultaneously. The true requirement to reach the Shahr gate is to transcend all things in this world." Rowan, seeking more understanding, asked, "Who are the guardians of the other gates?"

The once silent scene now transformed into a grand and epic atmosphere, with an explanation delivered in a divine voice revealing the secrets of the constellations guarding the three cardinal worlds. In Bai Hu's explanation, three main names were mentioned: Qinglong, the guardian of the east; Zhuque, the guardian of the south; and Xuan Wu, the guardian of the north. Bai Hu explained that the four of them together provide stability to the vast world and create various realms up to the creation itself. Rowan, filled with awe, wanted to ask more questions, but Bai Hu declined, stating, "Find out for yourself, as an experience without assistance."

Rowan accepted Bai Hu's words. Then, Bai Hu asked Rowan, "Which gate will you go to next?" Rowan replied hesitantly, "I'm not sure, but I might go to the east first." Bai Hu exhaled white smoke, which, when seen by Rowan, seemed to form a smiling face.

Bai Hu continued, "You are free to choose any gate, but remember to show respect and remain polite in front of the guardians." Rowan wondered why Bai Hu said that, and Bai Hu added, "Because if any of them are angered, you will not be safe." Rowan then said, "It seems I've seen everything here, and perhaps my journey here is done." Bai Hu responded, "Such a short visit, but very well then."

Soon after, a tremor occurred, and the gate opened, revealing the world beyond. Rowan stepped out of the World and the gate with his right foot and found himself back in the previous world of Tian. From outside the gate, Rowan could still see Bai Hu seated on his throne, with shimmering white smoke reflecting a salutation. Rowan looked up at the sky and closed his eyes, savoring the peaceful and warm feeling from the mysterious sun of the Tian world.

As he walked step by step, he suddenly stumbled, but to his surprise, he managed to catch himself from falling with just one finger, without exerting much effort. "I should be more careful," Rowan thought to himself. In the serene and beautiful atmosphere, the sound of birds chirping grew louder, approaching Rowan.

At the same time, Rowan looked around to find the source of the sound. Suddenly, the beautiful sky transformed into a cosmic expanse, filled with neon and radiant currents that illuminated the scene.

In a time of emptiness filled with wonder covered in silence, the sky appeared as if it were a ceiling about to collapse, and then it cracked, sending a cascade of cosmic currents plummeting toward the ground. The serene atmosphere quickly turned tense, as the bird's chirping, once ordinary, changed into a fierce and unsettling sound. From the sky emerged a giant bird, its body glowing with neon currents like those in the sky.

Without hesitation, Rowan prepared to face the threat, but the giant bird seemed to approach not to attack, but to deliver a message. The bird, resembling an abstract raven, approached Rowan and said, "I am Zythor. I came here to check the stability of the realm, and to see you, Rowan." Surprised, Rowan asked Zythor, "Who are you?" Zythor's answer was likely to shock Rowan, as he revealed that he was one of the Moon Anglers. Rowan, stunned, responded, "There are two Moon Anglers?!" Zythor replied, "It seems Tom didn't tell you that." Confused and astonished, Rowan said, "You know Tom?" Zythor turned his head, looked around, and said, "Of course, he is one of the Moon Anglers, and I'm here to find any threats that need to be eliminated."

Zythor continued, "I also came to protect all the creatures here, including you." Rowan asked, "A threat that needs to be eliminated? What threat is that?" Zythor replied, "Do you remember the name Mega Fudos? They are one of the greatest threats to many worlds." Rowan was stunned to hear Mega Fudos mentioned as a serious threat. But why do such beings exist? They arise from the will of the world; Mega Fudos are not creations but natural entities.

They are numerous and roam the vast and boundless realms of the universe. Zythor said, "The Mega Fudos you encountered before ,were the weakest of their kind, so don't underestimate their power. Moreover, this is the realm of Tian, making it an ideal place for them to invade dimensions, even the plot of your story."

Rowan asked, "Are they stronger than the constellations?" Zythor replied, "If they were to fight the constellations directly, the Mega Fudos might not be able to win, but they can disrupt their creations." Curious about Zythor's role, Rowan asked, "Do you have the same physiology as a Moon Angler?" Zythor answered calmly, "Yes, all Moon Anglers share the same physiology, but not the same powers and primary duties." Rowan inquired further, "So what is your duty?" Zythor replied, "My duty is to act as a boundary guardian and fighter against threats, while Tom is a fighter and traveler." Zythor continued, "All places reported by various travelers are visited by boundary guardians, so this area has been secured. However, it is not entirely controlled and protected."

Shortly after, a loud crash was heard in the sky, and the boundary began to crack as the neon currents faded and were replaced by a blue light. "They're coming," said Zythor to Rowan. Knowing it was likely the Mega Fudos, Rowan prepared to defend himself, while Zythor soared into the sky. The situation grew tense as the sky crumbled and the Mega Fudos appeared.

After that,They launched a barrage of attacks at Zythor, but to no avail. With a single sweep of Zythor's wings, the bodies and structures of the Mega Fudos were shattered, destroying their ability to alter reality and plot even narative level.

Zythor easily defeated all the Mega Fudos, perhaps even more effortlessly than Tom. However, it wasn't over yet, as more Mega Fudos appeared, making it increasingly difficult to control. Rowan decided to help, using his power, the white smoke called Bai Yan, to create a negation against the attacks. It worked.

Rowan managed to negate the immense power of the attacks, and although the negation didn't last long, it was able to reflect the attacks back at the Mega Fudos, gradually destroying them.

Suddenly, Zythor said, "It seems this is a massive invasion. But I am fed up." The space beside Zythor tore apart, and a terrifying roar was heard. A spear emerged from the tear and soared towards the Mega Fudos, destroying them all. Zythor flapped his wings, and a powerful aura of destruction obliterated the distortion in space and the thick bodies of the Mega Fudos.

With Zythor's power, the Mega Fudos were completely erased from their location without leaving a trace. In the end, all the Mega Fudos were gone. Zythor said, "Your power is well used, Rowan, so use it wisely and do not harm the universe." Rowan thanked Zythor for saving him from the Mega Fudos' threat.

Finally, Zythor returned to his own world, and before he left, he managed to establish another boundary in all nearby areas. Rowan, feeling awed, continued his journey, now aiming to head towards the East Gate guarded by Qinglong, or the Azure Dragon.
