"Gods"
In the beginning of time, there was only darkness. An existence was born from that darkness. That existence was called 'The Overseer' a creator, and the origin of the gods.
The overseer of its birth noticed the darkness of the void, to fill the abyss with light, the overseer decided to create ten powerful gods. It's children, and those children filled the endless void with planets, bringing light.
As billions of years passed, those children had children of their own who continued the legacy. Countless different worlds blossomed in the darkness. And the legacy of the gods was created.
....
"Young lord, would you like to wear these new clothes? This was created using the skin of an ancient dragon that ascended into the realm of the goddess Deater's garden."
A young woman, wearing a maid's uniform held a bright red fine clothe.
"Nanny I rather want to wear something, not made from a dragon's skin." A young boy with bright golden hair and a pair of sharp yellow eyes holding a red leather book whilst sitting on a comfy armchair drinking tea replied. "Can you please prepare my usual outing clothes?"
"Yes young master" The nanny sighed as she excused herself.
The young boy continued reading, he took a sip of his hot caramel tea and raised his head glancing outside of the window. "What a lovely day." The boy smiled gleefully and put down the book. He stood up and he glanced at himself in the mirror.
"I still feel uneasy looking at myself in the mirror. Just who made this handsome-looking face?" A small well-bridged nose, fair and smooth skin, long eyelashes and sharp golden eyes, a small face, pinkish lips, and bright golden hair. "I can't help but fall for myself every time I look in the mirror..."
The door opened, and the nanny came back holding a pair of clothing. "Young master I have arrived, I have brought you your favorite outing clothes. Would you like-"
The boy raised his hand to halt the nanny. "Umm nanny, now that I think about it, I want to wear this instead."
"Oh...alright young master if that is what you wish. If you excuse me young master I must put this back into your wardrobe." The nanny excused herself once again and left the room.
"Hah, I'm still not used to this young master stuff, not only that the constant changing of clothes. I mean this already looks presentable.." The young boy opened the door with a heavy sigh and quietly left his room.
He walked through the long, wide hallway filled with golden ornaments and huge portraits and made his way to the dining room.
"This is going to be hectic." The boy pushed open the towering doors. As the doors opened the first sight that the boy saw were two young men fighting while throwing plates at one another. "Like I said, this is going to be hectic."
"Oi, Oi! What did you just call me you shit?" A man with red long hair, holding a huge plate in his hand yelled angrily.
"Shit? Excuse me I'm older than you! Yet you're showing this disrespectful attitude?" A man with blue braided hair shouted back holding a huge plate as well.
"You were only born 200 years earlier than me you shit!" The man with red hair replied and threw the plate in the direction of the man with blue hair.
Clang!
"Hah! You imbecile you truly have no manners!" The man with blue hair threw his plate as well.
Clang!
"Geez these two. They're both already over 400 years old and yet they still fight like small children hah." A woman with long black hair holding a red fan sighed pointing at the two men.
"Good morning big sis Tenebri.." The young boy greeted the woman.
"Oh, Arcus you have already arrived." Tenebri crouched down and cuddled Arcus in her embrace. "Truly as days pass you get bigger and bigger, hah I just wish that you stay as cute as you are right now!" Tenebri began to barrage Arcus with her kisses.
"Sis please stop, this is embarrassing!" Arcus's face flushed red as he began to push away Tenebri in embarrassment.
"Oh, you! I just want to savor each moment, one day you'll all be grown up like those boozos over there" Tenebri sighed in despondency as she slowly loosed her grip.
Arcus immediately took a few steps away from his big sister. 'Hah, even though she's my big sister, a forty-eight-year-old man resides inside me. Being too close to a mature woman is too much for my old heart'
Arcus had lived another life in the past as Hwa Donghyun. He was unsure why his memories of his previous life were still intact, but he knew that his mother and others were unaware of them. Even Deater, his powerful goddess mother, did not know her own son's memories from his past life.
"Young master let me clean you for a moment." Arcus's nanny, Matri crouched down and held a towel to clean Arcus's face covered in black lipstick. "Young miss, if you want to kiss Arcus just be sure that you have no lipstick on."
"Matri aren't you being too blunt right now? Is it my fault that Arcus's face is as cuddly as it is?" Tenebri's eyes narrowed, she used her fan and pointed it at Matri. "It seems like you have forgotten your place as a mere maid."
"Well, you have also forgotten your place Tenebri." Matri continued wiping Arcus's face. As the lipstick finally came off, Matri stood up, narrowed her eyes, and walked away from Arcus as she stood at the side of the dining table.
'These two, they're using me as an excuse...' Arcus quietly watched the two who were sending angry signals at one another. Due to the noise, Arcus silently left the dining room, he couldn't handle it as the whole room was in utter chaos.
As Arcus successfully left the dining room, he heaved a sigh of relief and began to walk through the garden. "Truly, what is wrong with those two lately? Matri and big sis Tenebri, they've been using me as an excuse to finish their couple fight hah. If they're that mad at one another they should just talk it out, instead, they would even use me."
Arcus crouched down and glanced at a small fairy building a small nest. "Hah, truly the garden is beautiful." Arcus was intrigued by the small fairy building the nest.
The garden was created by Arcus's mother. The garden was huge and filled with numerous magical creatures.
"The garden is peaceful" Arcus watched the small fairy as he breathed in the warm and refreshing air.
"Arcus why are you here in the garden?" A woman with long blonde hair and a pair of emerald green eyes glanced at Arcus. The woman was beautiful with a gentle aura surrounding her, she was holding a bouquet as she walked closer to Arcus.
"Big sis Lux? I thought that you were still in your world busy with your creations. You came home earlier than I thought" Arcus glanced at the beautiful woman in front of him.
Lux was the second child of their mother. She is mostly busy with her countless worlds. Although Arcus rarely sees his older siblings, he maintains a close relationship with all 99 of them.
"Yes, I came home early." Lux crouched down beside Arcus, she flicked her hand and the bouquet disappeared, she looked at the small fairy gently. "What a cute fairy, it seems like she's building her home."
"Yes, she is," Arcus replied.
After a few minutes of just sitting and watching the fairy Arcus felt awkward.
'The silence is killing me!' Arcus glanced at Lux who had a visible frown on her face. "Sister? Are you unwell?"
"Huh? Oh no!" Lux shook her head, she glanced back at the small fairy who was still building her home. "It's just that...us gods have always created worlds."
Lux sighed. "I created hundreds of worlds and created numerous species..." She pointed at the fairy. "Take this fairy for example, look at it busily building its home, it takes time and would rest a bit and then continue building, although the work is tiring the fairy is doing its best to create the perfect home in its image..."
Lux frowned as she watched the small fairy. "And when the fairy finally after hours of working finishes the perfect home, all of a sudden that so-called home would catch a fire on itself...the home that the fairy poured all its efforts into broken just because of a small attribute that the fairy added into the home."
Arcus glanced at the small fairy who was crying as its home was destroyed. Arcus took a small peek at Lux who had an obvious frown on her face. "Sister is...everything alright?"
"Hmm? Oh no, it's nothing Arcus. You are still young I don't want you to be burdened by the matter I am speaking of." Lux stood up and patted her clothes. "Your already 10 aren't you Arcus? Have you already given it a thought?"
"Thought? About what exactly?" Arcus tilted his head in confusion.
"Oh...you don't know? Mother hasn't told you yet?"
"About what exactly?" Arcus frowned his head. 'Is it something I should have known?'
"Typically at the age of ten, gods start to venture on their own. In short, it's the golden age of the young gods to create their worlds." Lux created a small miniature doll of Arcus in her hands.
"Once a god reaches the age of ten, they are given their first task just like the other gods, that task would be to venture on your own and create your world, you would also be given a task to find a suitable creature for your first planet," Lux explained.
"I was the same age as you when I first created my planet, Mother gave me a human for my first planet since they were easy to take care of, and since they were humans their bodies could receive ample blessings from gods." Lux made the doll Arcus dance around Arcus.
"So I'm at that age, should I start creating my world now?" Arcus pointed at himself with a confused look.
"Normally yes." Lux shortly replied and added. "But, I don't think Mother would be alright in sending you so soon...since you haven't been able to manifest your divinity yet."
Divinity. All gods acquire such power, divinity exists to all gods and can be used to grant blessings and calamities, and even to destroy worlds. The problem was, that Arcus was half god and a mortal. As such he hasn't been able to manifest his divinity.
"Oh.." Arcus knew he wasn't in the same league as his siblings. His siblings were born solely by their mother.
Gods do not need a partner to conceive a child, instead, they create a child through their energy.
But, Arcus was unlike his siblings who were born from energy, he was born from their mother and a union of a human and she had carried Arcus for over 9 months. His body is small unlike his siblings, he can be cut bleed, and wounded due to his human body.
Gods do not have gender, they can become either a woman or a man, while Arcus was half mortal as such he only has one gender.
Lux looking at her little brother's troubled expression stretched her hand and gently patted Arcus. "Come, you must be hungry. If you're thinking about divinity, you don't have to worry I'm sure you will acquire such power, but in the meantime, you should enjoy your freedom. Once you start creating your world you will be bound to it."
Arcus held Lux's hand as they went back inside the dining room.
"Oh, I could already hear Ignis and Aqua shouting at one another." Lux chuckled as they entered the dining room.
"Just when will those two stop? It's just the six of us here and yet this place is already badly damaged." Lux sighed as the two wouldn't stop. Lux clapped her hands to get the attention of the two, but they were already busy shouting at one another. "Hah truly, these two never learn.." Lux clasped her hands, and white light covered Ignis and Aqua.
"Hey what the-"
"Now, you two, I'm very hungry and I want to eat already." Lux smiled and put the two on the chair, but were still tied by a golden chain. "The chain would only disappear once I finish eating." Lux glanced at Arcus. "Let's eat"
Arcus nodded in response.
Tenebri also sat. "Finally I'm hungry as well."
"Well if you were that hungry you should have stopped their fight early on Tenebri" Lux responded.
"Nah, it's fun to watch those two kill one another. Besides, your home early? Did something happen again?"
