Someone was shaking me. I don't want to get up.
" Princess, get up." It was Amy.
I opened my eyes to see Amy.
" You are finally up.Get up. Miss Jenifer came when you were asleep. They have prepared the dinner." she told me.
I suddenly got up. I realised I was asleep.But, I slept so nicely and now I was hungry. I climbed down the bed and stretched my arms.
" You go first . I will come after a few minutes." I said with a yawn.
" Okay. Come before it gets cold." She said and walked out of the room.
Sun was about to set. This room was dimly lit by the orange rays of sun. It gave the room a pinkish look. Birds were chirping outside and winds were blowing. I sat on sofa and took a paper and pen to write a letter to nanny. I wrote,
" Dear Nanny,
We have arrived safely. This place is so beautiful. The palace I am staying is Wisteria palace. It's called wisteria maybe because so many wisteria vines are here. I saw town for the first time. It was chaotic but likable. Everyone I have met so far is nice to me.Amy is also happy. I am happy too. I hope you are taking care of your health.
Your Princess,
Madeleine ."
I folded the letter and kept it on table. I got up when I was passing by mirror I saw that flowers in my hair had withered. So I went in front of mirror and took them out. My braid looked nice even without flowers.Just then I heard a sound from balcony. I went into balcony. Sun had already set and moon was high in the sky.
" Aaaahhh.."
I shouted when someone suddenly came in front of me. He covered my mouth with his one hand and put his other finger on his lips.My eyes widened.What was happening? My heart almost stopped for a second but it started beating fast. But, it was not from danger. I wasn't scared.It was something else, something new.
I heard footsteps down there.He got alerted and started moving forward pushing me backwards. We went inside the room and he made a turn so that my back was touching wall. He was still covering my mouth. His eyes met mine and it felt like something sparked. His eyes were green no blue. It was a mixture of both. They were shining pair.
The footsteps retreated.But, he was just staring at me. My heart throbbed. I lifted my hands to push him back. He snapped out of something and backed away.I breathed him in. He smelled like my books dusty and crispy. Now that I looked at him properly, he was tall and handsome. He had messy platinum blonde hair. They looked silky. He was wearing earring in left ear. It had a silver ring and a coloured peacock feather design attached with a silver chain to ring. He was wearing silver chain in his neck. He had a muscled body. He was wearing white shirt with bottle green pants. His shirts' upper two or three buttons were undone showing his pale and white skin.
I realised that the way I was checking him silently he was doing the same. Blush creeped my cheeks. I scolded myself for being a fool like the female leads in novels who swooned over male lead bodies. He was an intruder.
" Who are you? I asked him sternly.
" The prince of your dreams." He said with a cheeky smile and went towards the balcony. I went after him but he was gone. He was quite fast. My blood boiled on his cheekiness.
" You brat! Meet me again. I will tell you off.." I murmmered.
" Princess" I heard Amy calling me .
I went in and closed the balcony door.
" Princess, what are you doing?Dinner is getting cold." She said .
" Amy did you see a boy." I asked
" A boy....no" She said confusingly.
" A boy just came into my room." I told her.
She started laughing and said," There was nobody here. You have red too many novels. You don't know anyone here. You are telling me that a boy came here but why to tell you that he is the prince of your dreams."
" Yeah same. He said that exact same line with a cheeky smile. I wanted to rip that smile off his face. " I said while gesturing.
" Princess, You must be dreaming. No one is here. You must be hungry. Let's go." She insisted.
I let it slide 'cause she won't believe me anyway. So, I went down and ate my dinner.
" It was delicious." I told Amy while waking towards room.
" Yes princess and everyone is so nice here." She replied.
I nodded. I stood in front of my room and said," Goodnight Amy."
" But, princess you haven't changed yet."
" You are also tired. Go and sleep. I will manage. "
" Okay princess, goodnight." She walked away.
I went inside my room and changed into nightgown. I lighted off the lamps. The moon was beautiful today. I saw something shiny on balcony. So, I went there and saw that a key was on floor. It was a big silver key with a chain on it. Some big peacock feathers were hanging from that silver chain.As soon as I saw it I knew it belonged to that guy. He must have dropped it.I grabbed it and went inside. I put that key under my pillow and slept.
I woke up with sun. Birds were chirping in the morning that made my day. I had breakfast in my room. Jenifer came in my room and told me that His majesty had requested my presence. She gave me a dress ,shoes and some jewellery to wear. They even gave Amy a new uniform. The gown was sky blue in colour. Amy did my makeup and styled my hair in a ponytail. The shoes had heels. I wore heels for the first time. I also wore a necklace and earrings and I went out to go to main palace. I saw several maids eyeing me.They must be wondering who I was. I saw knights, ministers and some ladies on my way.
I reached the main palace. It was bigger than wisteria palace. I entered the palace and the floor was red carpeted. Inside of the palace was coloured with off white. I walked the long hallway. I saw a gate and two knights were standing out there guarding the assembly hall.They opened the gate and announced,
" Princess Madeleine Lancaster is entering."
I felt nervous. I entered and did a curtsy before king,
" Greetings to sun and moon of Clematis kingdom." I said.
" You may rise." The king said in an authoritative tone. I rised and stood straight like a log of wood. He was wearing a beautiful golden crown embedded with blue jewels. It didn't seem heavy. He was wearing a white shirt and navy blue pants with a navy blue cape. He was old and had white hair. His facial features were sharp.
" Welcome to Clematis princess. You are our guest. We are honoured to have you. Due to fight between our kingdoms we suffered great losses but when King William proposed that you should be sent here. I couldn't deny it. Stay here comfortably and enjoy your time."
" Thankyou your majesty." I said with a little bow.
He laughed and said," You are being so formal. No need for that. I have prepared a ball for your welcome. It will be he
ld next week. I hope you enjoy staying here."
