Such creatures don't exist my dear". King Oliver said to his lovely daughter whom he was sure wasn't normal anymore.
"you've got to believe me. I saw him" Princess Nomi protested.
"And may I ask you where you saw him?".
"it was in my dream but it felt so real you've got to believe me I'm not nuts".
"Princess how about talking to your mother about this".King Oliver said.
" I've tried she doesn't want to hear another word of it".
"Have you been taking your medications lately?".
"you really do think I'm nuts". She was forcing forcing back tears.
I will not cry in front of them she kept saying to herself as she ran up to her room without a backward glance.
.... NOMI'S ROOM....
"why don't they believe me? I saw him, he is real. I touched him it can't be an illusion or it could it"?. she still sobbing when she feels a soft arm on her shoulder she raises her head up to see who it was and put it back down. If i ignore him, he might just go away.
He always does this, he stays, stares at her, watches her sleep and comforts her but never speaks and she never tries to make him. She feel strangely at peace with his presence. She slowly falls asleep.
Few hours later she wakes up not sure if it was a dream or reality. She had no energy to think right now. She went out into the garden for a stroll and for a little breath of fresh air.
This is the life that Princess Nomi of seifuku lives, taking medicines because everyone believes she is hallucinating, crying because everyone thinks she has lost it and seeing 'him' the main reason why her life is upside down, sleeping and waking to the thought of whether it was a dream or not. Maybe she wasn't really normal. Just maybe they were right, maybe she really just needed help.
As she continues to grow deeper in her thoughts, she did not notice that our name was being called until Sheila, her best friend and confident tapped her. Her heart almost slipped out of her mouth.
"you saw him again didn't you?" Sheila asked filled with concern .
"yes. I told my father about it but he still believes I'm not normal and that I am just seeing things".
" has he said anything to you I mean the "him". Sheila makes a quote sign with her fingers.
" no, all he does is stare until I fall asleep".
"How about the royal therapists what are they saying any luck?"
" nothing really same old take your medications and have plenty of rest. I'm really tired of hearing those".
"I baked blueberry muffins let's go in and have some" Sheila suggested.
" I'm not quite hungry thank you". honestly the life of Princess Nomi was occupied with a lot of things right now.
"have you eaten at all?" Sheila asked looking worriedly at her.
" I had a bite of cookie and a glass of milk"
" do you call that food? you are becoming thinner as the weeks pass. let's go in and have a decent meal".
" but sheila, I'm not in the mood for food."
" I do not remember asking the Princess if she was in the mood for food or if she was in any way hungry. I said let's go in and have a decent meal" Sheila repeated pulling know me by the hand like a mother pulling a child.
"fine fine I'm coming" Nomi finally agreed.
They both went to the dining, ate and talked for a while until Sheila had to return back home.
Nomi stood up and was about to leave dining when our father the king walked in.
"Nomi, my dear I was actually looking for you. Please have a seat we need to talk". he said pointing to where he wants her to sit.
"is it necessary" she asked without looking back.
" yes Princess Nomi it is".
"fine" was the only thing she could say as she took her seat." I'm all yours".
He cleared his throat has begun I'm sure it's no longer news that there is no heir to the throne of seifuku. To this effect the council and I have decided that she will marry Prince Devil of Athens.
"what?" I shout in bewilderment. "is this some sort of contract marriage? How can you decide such without my consent? ".
" it's for the good of the Kingdom" King Oliver muttered.
"really? my happiness is in jeopardy and you are telling me it's for the good of the Kingdom".
"Princess don't be like this. You have been acting strange for some months now and. . ." King Oliver paused.
"and you think marry me off will help? first it was the sermon of Princess Nomi you are not normal, you need proper medication, now it is I'm marry you off for the good of the Kingdom? I really don't know why I'm listening to all these".
she stood up to leave when she turned back and said firmly " I will not marry him". she went straight up to her room.
Nomi could no't cry anymore. Her eyelid hurts and we're starting to swell. She wished 'he' could be here for her like you always was and it freaked her to the bone that her comfort lies in the strangest place.
She took a shower then changed into a night dress, laid on the bed but sleep fled from her. Just when she was about to close her eyes 'he' appeared. He was trying, trying really hard to speak to her.
She knew he wanted to talk, wanted her to hear him but she couldn't he looked like he was in pain and she wish you could share in it and strangely enough she did. It was strange that she could feel his pain. She could hear his cries, he wanted freedom.
It was like he was bound in a cage wanting to be loose she could feel it but could not hear a word of what he was trying to say.
He stayed a little while longer still trying to make himself heard.
When he couldn't he left and so did the pain Nomi was feeling. She had seen him and this time she was convinced it wasn't a dream she saw him, felt him and tried to listen to what he had to say.
she was not hallucinating, all these while she was totally normal. Completely okay, she was relieved. He is real... I had seen him.... believe me...
