Duke slaps Davis on the back "Gear up baby it's almost time to rock and roll"
With that Duke headed out the door to the truck.
Davis noticed that Duke's pack looked a little light for a lengthy mission. He turned to Frank and asked "Sir, how long is the mission and what should I bring?"
Frank groaned. He was tired of every FNG coming in and asking the same stupid questions. It didn't matter the kid probably wouldn't make it back from this mission. "Make sure you grab an M4 and a sidearm. I would recommend at least one blade. Other than that a couple days rations and whatever else you want."
"Thank you Sir!" Davis replied.
Frank just grunted at the kid. 'He's definitely got a dutiful soldier attitude. I wonder if he will live long enough to lose it?' he thought.
After grabbing an M4, bayonet, Glock 17 pistol and a couple hundred rounds of ammo Davis grabbed some ration kits to throw in his pack. He then looked at some of the larger weapons left on the table.
"Wow, this is heavier than it looks" Davis said as he picked up a large double sided ax. He couldn't imagine anyone but Duke being able to weild it.
"Leave it." Travis said. "I don't want to have to carry it back."
Brook chimed in "Just stick with the small hammer for a backup incase you run out of ammo. You don't want to bring too much it'll slow you down and beleive me, you don't want to be slow."
"Thanks" Davis didn't really understand what anyone meant but took their advice. 'I hope I didn't forget anything.'
