Chapter 1 - Love After Life

A young woman was walking down the calm street of England, she longed for her long lost love, Kenji. Kenji was a sweet farmer who would always bring the young woman flowers; he'd recently been forbidden from seeing her again. She loved his blonde locks, the way he smiled at her after he had finished working in the fields whenever she came to visit him. She lived in the large city, while he lived in the countryside. She could only visit the farmhouse on the weekends because of her job, but whenever Kenji came to the city to sell his vegetables and fruits.

"Good morning," a voice called out, she looked to see where the noise was coming from and she saw her long lost love, Kenji, waving at her. In an instant she ran towards him and into his arms, crying.

"Kenji, I missed you so much," she cried as she tightly hugged him.

"I missed you too, how have y-," before he could finish she cut him off.

"Why couldn't you see me? All you did was send me a letter," she cried. Kenji just let her go and got on one knee as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. The young woman was surprised and curious, but her curiosity quickly turned into joy, when Kenji opened the box revealing a gold ring with an emerald on it, and the words K and S forever inscribed on it. "Kenji, what is this?" she whispered.

"Satomi will you make me the happiest man in the  world and be my wife"

"Yes, yes a thousand times yes!" Satomi squealed. Kenji then placed the ring on Satomi's pale finger. The happiness didn't last for long because Satomi fainted. Kenji was quick to catch her limp body and began to shake her in a panic.

"Satomi! Satomi, wake up!" He checked her pulse and it was weak and her breathing was shallow, tears began to pour from Kenji's eyes and his voice was breaking, "Wake up, please! We still have our wedding to plan out and our lives ahead of us!" Nothing woke Satomi, so Kenji quickly called an ambulance and they transported her to a hospital.

At the hospital, Satomi's parents wept and Kenji's parents scolded him for seeing her again, "How dare you see that girl again let alone propose to her! What were you thinking?!" Kenji's mother shrieked.

"'That girl is my wife! How dare you speak about her like that!" Kenji was furious and all he wanted to do was see his beloved Satomi. The grieving family was just crying and praying for their daughter's health, Satomi was their only child and she was a miracle. Why did the world have to be this cruel to her? On the day she was proposed to, this happened to the poor girl.

The doctor walks out of Satomi's hospital room with a grim expression, "I'm sorry, but she's gone"

Satomi's mother began  to cry hysterically, "Why?! Why did this happen to my miracle?! Her mother cried as she hugged Kenji, the last one to talk to her and see her alive and well. A few days later Satomi was buried next to her elder brothers, who had passed a week before she was born. She was mourned for six weeks and Kenji's family's farm began to die along with his heart. Kenji didn't care what happened to his farm nor his family, he only cared for the woman he loved and lost, he began to plant flowers on her grave and take care of them everyday.

After 68 years of visiting Satomi's grave and watering her flowers, a small child ran up to Kenji and tapped him on the shoulder.

"What is it?" Kenji asked as he turned to face the little girl.

"Who is this grave for, and why are you watering these flowers?"

"It's for my beloved wife, Satomi"

"What happened to her?"

"The day I proposed to her she dropped dead, it was a heart attack," tears roll down Kenji's cheeks but he's smiling, "she was the kindest and sweetest person I'd ever met. She'd visit me on my farm when it was still alive and she volunteered with orphans, she was a teacher to them and she was only 21"

"Wow, she seems amazing"

Kenji chuckled, "She was, she'd be 89 today. Say, what's your name?"

"It's Satomi, Satomi Kobayashi"

Kenji was shocked and hugged the girl as he cried into her shoulder, "It's you, I've missed you so much"

Satomi stuck out her hand, "Come and join me."

Kenji took Satomi's small hand and he turned into a child, the same age as Satomi, and they floated into the sunset.

Later the next day Kenji's body had been found in front of Satomi's grave and he was buried right next to her.
