Chapter 170 - Mindy is important to me

Mindy stormed into her room, her footsteps heavy with anger and heartbreak. She slammed the door shut behind her, the sound echoing in the silence of her room. The finality of her mother's departure weighed heavily on her, and the walls seemed to close in around her.

Without hesitation, she threw herself onto her bed, burying her face in the pillow. The soft fabric did little to muffle the sobs that wracked her body. Her cries came in choking gasps, each one more painful than the last. Her chest felt tight, her heart aching with a raw intensity she had never experienced before.

Tears soaked the pillow as Mindy's body shook with each sob. She grasped the edges of the pillow tightly, as if trying to hold onto the last remnants of her mother's presence. The reality of the situation—the absence of Grace—seemed unbearable.

"Why, Mum?" Mindy's voice was muffled but filled with deep anguish. "Why did you have to leave us? Why didn't you stay?"
