Chapter 73 - Chapter 73 - Practical Test [7]

'I need to hold this monster off, but... how?'

As I said, that I dodged another one of his powerful blows, the wind pressure generated from his movements caused my body to feel a series of uncomfortable chills. His attacks his fast, and truly had not even an ounce of technique. It was all the raw power of a beast who's only goal was to hunt.

It was especially fearsome considering his fearlessness. Being attacked was something he didn't even consider. It was as if he welcomed damage, but surely even he would be better off dodging attacks?

It can't be that there's some merit for him to take blows.

Gripping my spear tightly, I thrust it into his liver. For a moment, the Enhancement around that part weakened. I didn't know what he was trying, and I didn't want to find out, but the momentum carried my spear into his abdomen.

As I tried to dislodge it from his insides, I realised he had regenerated the flesh surrounding my spear to make sure I couldn't pull it out.

'Damn it-'

Before I could finish thinking, I was hit in the head with a fist so powerful that I thought my helmet would crack. My helmet and spear were in actuality, a singular Artifact that my family passed down to their heir.

My spear was something I could control without touching. And because the spear head was halfway inside his body, I could do something a little fun.

Leaping back, I stretched my arm out and rotated my spear while it was inside his body, essentially drilling into him. At the same time, I took a step forward, swinging my fist into man's chin.

'The Archer needs time to fire off a shot strong enough to do meaningful damage, I'll keep him occupied and let her build up that attack. The other one, our Dagger, can't last in head on combat. Their body isn't capable of withstand a single one of Reinhardt's blows, so I can't rely on them to give me too many openings.'

Grabbing my spear, I pulled it out of his insides, halting it's rotation. But, he tried his best to regenerate and stop me from pulling it out his guts. However, he was slowing down, he was constantly worrying about the Archer.

Pure power could, probably, only go so far. Though it was hard for us to take him out, it was likely possible for us to overwhelm his mind and, hopefully his regeneration.

'But I don't get it. He's so willing to take blows, it's scary. It's as if he wants to get hit attacks. At least this is less scary than when he had a sword.

When he was wielding a sword, the air around him was totally different. It felt as thought he himself embodied the sword. I'd much rather fight this version of him, than when he was a wielding a sword.

Yanking my spear out of him, I slammed my fist into his liver, and he withstood my blow, and landed a blow on my stomach, causing me to take a few steps back in pain.

"This seems like an appropriate time. Better to do it now than after my insides get turned to dust."

Holding my spear out infront of me, I focused my Mana.

But, Reinhardt charged at me without fear. Or rather, he feared my Spear. There was a low chance he knew who I was, there was absolutely no way he should've known the true nature of his weapon. Yet, I could see it in his eyes. He absolutely refused to let me use it's full power.

'Instinct. He's fighting on instinct, and has decided that my spear is a threat.'

The Archer fired another one of those insanely powerful arrows. Last time, Reinhardt broke his body just to evade it. This time, he refused to do that. Instead, he charged straight on, allowing the arrow to strike his chin.

Upon making contacting with him, the lower portion of his face exploded. Blood splattered everywhere, causing for a horrifying scene of flying teeth and flesh. However, this didn't stop him at all, instead he regenerated his flesh and seemed fine, externally that is.

Those golden eyes seemed to be terrified of something. In fact, he stopped trying to move towards, he began taking steps back.

"Stay... away."

'What?'

Without another word being exchanged, small flickers of white flames began to spurt out of his body.

"The hell is that?"
