Chapter 6 - Better than Internet at Home

The new room Hanul was moved to was surprisingly small. Well, at least compared to the large auditorium-like room that he had first been moved to.

Hanul wasn't the alone here. Opposite the room from him were 3 figures seated in an arc.

On the left was the large bear-like red robed man that Hanul met earlier. His back seemed ready to explode out of his robes as he sat hunched forward with a serious expression.

'Weapon, right? Wonder who thought of that nickname.'

Seated on the other side was the lady who had brought Hanul here. Her beauty was even more pronounced than before.

Long flowing dark green hair that just grabbed one's attention, as it wrapped around her nape, like a snake, before settling in her lap. Resting there just above crossed legs, as any observer eyes would be drawn to the glistening thigh. Showing just enough skin to force one to double take, while exposing a seductive view through her slit red robe.

Hanul tore his eyes off of the woman, worried that if one glance felt that long, he might not be able to look away if he looked any longer. Instead, his eyes moved to examine the unfamiliar figure in the center.

'An examinee? No, wait...'

A small boy sat with his arms and legs tight, in a very reserved manner. His hair was short and all white, but shined like silver as though he were a dewdrop in dawn's first light.

Despite his seemingly timid demeanor, the loose red robes garbed over his body said a different story.

Thinking back, all the red robed people Hanul had met seemed to be some sort of superior position. Considering that both the mature woman on the side and the trickster from from before had the authority to take disciples and oversee the Immortal Inspection. Not to mention, this person was placed in the center of two red robes.

If not a full position higher, this person likely had a superior position compared to the other two.

'Let's just approach as friendly as I can.'

Figuring not to dwell on the matter any longer, Hanul stepped forward to greet the group.

"Hello there, I'm Hanul. I was told to wait here by my previous inspector."

The big bear calmed down and turned towards Hanul. A slight glance came from the seductive lady. While the person in the center kept his eyes locked forward with a closed posture.

Weapon was the first to speak up.

"Oh wow, someone's done already? Let's see here..."

He went into thought as a blue panel, similar to Hanul's system window, appeared in front of Weapon. The sight of the large bear scrolling through a system was shell-shocking for Hanul.

'Hey System. Is that the same as you?'

[Negative. The Amazing Fantasy System is a culmination of the Old Deities. The System cannot be observed by outside influences.]

'That's good, but what the hell is that blue screen over there?'

[That is humanity's "Internet". As mentioned before, immortals have access to an interconnected system that only allows humans to interact with. That is said system.]

'Damn, I don't remember the internet being this convenient.'

[It is recommended that the User connects to the Internet as soon as available.]

'Why in such a hurry?'

[One of the main purposes of the System is to analyze and adapt the Internet into its core. It is in this way that the System and the User can grow.]

'I see. No use rushing, it should happen soon enough anyways.'

"Ah, found it! Sun Woo-jin tested him."

After navigating on his screen for a few minutes, Weapon found Hanul's examination details.

"Eeeeh? He passed lil' Woo's test that quickly?"

This time the boy in the center reacted, with his hand covering his mouth in surprise.

"Lil' Woo doesn't test kids often, I wonder if ol' Giyun told them to. What do y'all think Lil' Bear, Lil' Snake?"

"Eh?! Master, I told you not to call me that anymore, it's Hebihime now, hmph!"

"I-I agree as well Master, I'm already turning 152 this year, I shouldn't b-be called little a-anymore."

"Whazzat? You're gonna have to speak more clearly for my aging ears. Ahahahaaa~"

A light atmosphere burst forth from this uncharacteristic scene.

The giant hulk of a man stammering on one side with a lustrous femme fatale pouting like a teenage girl. Yet in between the two, a boy casually laughing. This child, who just a second ago looked so timid that the slightest gust of wind might blow him away. That very same person now seemed like an old grandfather teasing his grandchildren.

Suddenly, amidst his revelry, the red robed boy waved Hanul over.

"Come closer boy, we won't bite. Tell us about yourself."

'Ah shoot.'

As he moved a few steps closer to the 3 elders, Hanul was faced with a slight dilemma.

'I haven't even been here a day, what am I supposed to talk about?'

He had a goal given to him by the gods, but he couldn't bring just say, "I want to be God of the Immortals," could he?

'Or rather...couldn't I?'

"I want to stand above all Immortals."

"Oho~"

'???'

Before Hanul could gather his thoughts, something compelled him, and pushed the words out of his mouth.

"That's quite a dream you've got boyo."

The boy rose from his chair. His junior immortals tightened up in their seats, with a hint of anxiety noticeable in their trembling.

As that central figure got up, his body grew. Bigger wouldn't be the right way to describe this process, rather older would be more fitting. His shoulder squared as he leaned forward, arms lengthening while he pressed on his knees. His legs extending to deepen his squat as the now adult body stood up.

By the time he was fully erect, no trace of the child could be seen anymore. In his place was a grown man with long silver hair falling at least 2 meters as it stretched out onto the floor. His face was slightly wrinkled, with a beard that reached his torso.

He was still shorter than Weapon, but the man's presence now dominated the room.

'"Kgh"

No, it was more than just presence.

Hanul dropped to his knees, clutching his chest. A tangible pressure weighed down on him, making it hard to breath. His vision flickered, but he did his best to maintain eye contact with the silvery elder.

*Clack clack*

The elder's wooden sandals clacked on the hardwood flooring, as he approached Hanul. The returning gaze of the elder was akin to that of a predator looking down its prey. The pressure on Hanul grew with every step.

"Since we have plenty of time, why don't I educate you on immortals?"
