Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Aftermath and Scheme

Lucas watches as Bullet's life leaves him .

"You lost," Lucas said as he stood next to Bullet, his body bathed in blood, which was Bullet's blood. Bullet, who had lost a lot of blood, fell at Lucas's feet, trying to say something, but he was so weak that he couldn't even utter a sound but a wheezing breath.

Looking at Bullet, who had weakened to the point of being speechless, Lucas said softly, "I won't kill you. You will stay here in impel down and heed my every order."

Lucas looked at Bullet, whose fingers trembled for life, kneeling down beside him. "Don't give up so easily. Pay attention to me, and listen well," he leaned into Bullet's ear and whispered, "You want to surpass Roger, but you can't even beat me. How will you ever surpass Roger? Stay by my side, I will give you the opportunity to gain strength that could defeat me, but only if you listen to my every word."

Lucas patted Bullet on the head and said, "Think carefully, if you refuse, I will kill you. Remember it well."

Lucas stood up and walked away, leaving a trail on the snow of footprints and blood. Bullet adjusted himself in a more comfortable position as he lay on the ground, breathing heavily. He felt the cold in his body that constantly swallowed his vitality slowly disappear, right after Lucas finished his talk. In other words, Lucas really kept his word and left him alive.

After a moment of silence, Bullet suddenly said, "Why? With your strength, you don't need me at all."

Lucas, who had already walked far away and heard what he said, didn't look back, just waved his hand and said with a laugh, "We're cellmates, isn't it just right to be friends with one another and help each other out?"

This voice resonated in the Frozen Hell, spreading far and wide. Friendship and mutual help? Bullet couldn't believe such nonsense, but he didn't ask for more. Lucas had finally left beyond his sight, the guards finally came closer towards Bullet.

Bullet recovered a little of his strength and got up from the ground . He looked at the wound on his chest, as he stood up with a small grunt, and walked back to Eternal Hell with a heavy trudge of a once dying man under the escort of the guards.

Elsewhere, Lucas is about to reach the entrance of a passage. Suddenly he realized something, raised his head, and looked towards a position above the corridor. There he sees a hidden den den mushi. Now, the eyes of the den den mushi rotates and expands, to look at Lucas.

Looking at this scene, Lucas looked at the den den mushi with a fleeting smile. In the next second, he retracted his gaze, stopped looking at the den den mushi and turned around, as he continued to walk towards the corridor. The snow on his clothes already melted, as his figure slightly submerged in the darkness.

In the dark corridor, there is no one else, the guards here have long been driven away. Only Lucas's footsteps echoed. As he walked, he murmured to himself, saying something like: "The Old man had left early, kill all the people on that ship, and leave the old man by himself."

Watching the recording of the fight, Kong can't help but feel perplexed about the situation. He saw everything that Lucas had used against Bullet. He never thought Bullet would lose without even leaving a scratch. It can even be said that Lucas was merely toying with him!

"How did the navy ever catch him in the first place?" Hannyabal asked, his voice almost breaking. He remembered very clearly that when they escorted Lucas, it was very simple, and that was precisely why Lucas was initially imprisoned on the second level.

"He did it on purpose," says Magellan. His face was solemn and serious. Lucas wasn't a prisoner of Impel Down, but a wanderer and ghost of Impel Down. It was only then that Magellan noticed Lucas approaching the den den mushi and smiling at it. At that moment, Magellan's eyelids contracted. He looked at Kong and asked, "What are we supposed to do now?"

The plan to intercept Lucas had failed. Hearing the words of Magellan, Kong fell silent. What Magellan thought, he now thought too. Kong turned to a free spot next to the monitoring room. Originally Saint Marcus Mars, was sitting there. But not long after Lucas and Bullet fought, he left with his Cypher Pol personnel with a grim expression, and even the CP0, who was originally lurking on the fifth level, was preparing to handle the final work.

Saint Marcus Mars has already foresaw the result, knowing that Douglas Bullet would lose to Lucas without any doubt. No, there may be other reasons. Kong's eyes flickered, looking at the screen, and the fleeting smile of Lucas appeared in his mind as the image captured by the den den mushi had just shown.

Seemed like Lucas was about to perform a bloody massacre as revenge.
