Damien sensed Caleb's inner turmoil and decided to address the unspoken concern. "Caleb," Damien began gently, "I know it's not easy for you to see Lily with me. I want you to know that I never intended for any of this to happen."
Caleb sighed, glancing at Lily from a distance. "It's not your fault. It's just... I wish things were different. I wish I could be a proper father to her."
Damien nodded understandingly. "You still can be, you know. Lily doesn't have to know about the past. She sees you as her uncle, someone she looks up to. You can still be a positive influence in her life."
Caleb's expression softened as he considered Damien's words. "You're right. I should focus on being there for her in whatever way I can."
