Loran slowly blinked his eyes open, feeling disoriented for a moment as he took in his surroundings. The room he was in was unfamiliar, richly decorated with antique furniture and elegant tapestries adorning the walls.
He heard panting beside him and looked to his left to find the wolf pup lying beside him, wagging its tail excitedly, it nudged its nose against his hand as if urging him to wake up.
"Easy there," Loran murmured, his voice hoarse. He attempted to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his arm, causing him to grimace and grunt involuntarily. The pup, startled by the noise, began barking loudly.
"Shh, it's alright, I'm alright." Loran whispered, trying to soothe the pup, but it continued yapping in excitement.
A moment later, the door creaked open, and Aeliana and Katrin entered the room. Aeliana's expression softened with relief when she saw Loran awake, while Katrin pushed in a food cart laden with breakfast items.
