DAVE'S POV
Dave didn't realize he was deep in thought,
The voice of Investigator Spark brings him to earth.
" Good day, Dr Dave" Spark said loudly, helping himself to a chair..
" Oh Mr Spark, what brought you in today
Hope it a good news". He responds,recollecting himself.
" She is a really hard one to find". Spark responds, looking anywhere but at Dave
How could he explain it to him, that this particular case has taken everything out of him.
" I think I have to start putting my money else where, cause we have been on this case for over a decade". Dave already ignited with anger.
Spark eyes settled into Dave's, he understands the fury, he gets it, this case has also infuriated him
" They moved again, all I know i can gather from last I checked in, they are at another city again". He replied
" What do you mean they moved" Dave's mind running wild
" I was so close getting close to them last time" Spark face went down.
" Do you know the city they are at now" Dave inquiring, hoping this time it was high time, to put matter into his own hands.
"I will let you know, when any information comes out".
Spark replied, already on his feet
Then he looks over to Dave says softly
" It high time your wife knows" and he leaves
Aside from Spark being their investigator, they had formed this friendship over the years.
That word settles in the mind of Dave ..
It been over a decade, Mary has to know..
He types on his phone " Babe, Code Forgiveness".
MARY'S POV
A message from her husband coming in,
He must be missing her, She stretches from her laptop where she was doing her research for her business, over to her phone
" Code Forgiveness". She muttered out loud,she is confuse
The last time there was any code Forgiveness, it had been Dave in therapy..
"We will discuss this when you're home". She replies, putting his mind at rest.
She goes over to her laptop, tries concentrating on it, but couldn't...she gets worried
She hears a car parking into the garage, making her wonder what could have made Dave come home early.
The door opens, she goes over to him, she knows something eating him up inside.
"Babe come sit" she gently takes him to the chair, she sits besides
"I something to you, Mary". He looks at her, tears drippong down
Feeling so confuse, she draws him closer, holding his hands
" I have a daughter, with another woman" the words comes out
"Wh--a--t do-o you mean,babe". She is startled.
" Her mother died at birth, I couldn't keep her babe, I couldn't , we were not strong on our feet then ..".
She looks at him to continue
" I hired an investigator who has been looking into the case".
She didn't know this man, who was he,
Who is he
This isn't her Dave
She stood, she has to drink something, anything she can find..
She's loosing it,
She goes over to the fridge..
Dave comes closer, she didn't know how her palm ended up on his face, landing him on the ground..
Who were they becoming.
She couldn't recognize herself.
Most especially Dave
She takes her purse, car key, phone.
She wants to be anywhere but here
She hears Dave mumbling
"Mary please dont-----. ".
She didn't , she couldn't wait to hear the rest.
ELENA'S POV
She is scared
She's been ringing Mary's phone, she decides to try it one last time and it picks
"Mary" Elena says to the phone, she did rehearse her words line by line.
The other end is silent, just the sound of sobs and running nose. Then an idea pops into Elena's
" Please sister, tell me where you are"
" Come alone". Mary struggles to reply
Gladly, Elena picks up her keys and hops over to her car
Standing face to face with her sister, words couldn't form in her mouth,
On Elena seeing her, she walks towards Mary hugging her. Her best friend, her sister,it been the both of them against the world since their parent lost their lives in their burning house
The only reasons she and her sister survived,was because they were at school that day.
" Dave told me everything, I am really sorry sister". Elena mutters over her ear still holding onto he tight
"How co-uld he, h--ow--". She stammers
"I know". Elena pulling the both of them, closer to the bed to make them sit
"Have been here, racking my head, seeking for answers, what did I do wrong, was a bad wife, why did he go out on us". Mary manages to say.
Elena knew she just need to listen, because whatever she is going to input wouldn't matter.
" Then I think of the child, the mother.." .Mary pauses.
"I gave him my youth, my loyalty, my life, every damn thing..and how he repays me is by hurting me this way". She continues, sobbing really hard.
Elena lays her down to the bed,still consoling her...then she gets up, walks over to get Mary something to take.
That has been the only way to calm her nerves.
Mary gulps the drink greedily.Elena lays beside her and says
" Mary, you know you don't have to this to yourself, I know it difficult right now..but all the answers you seeking for, Dave has them..It not up to you". She pauses, letting the words go into Mary, then she continues
" You and I know Dave is good man, a good husband and a father. He's messed up big time, you have to give him a chance to explain".
"I know he is, that why I was in shock when he said it, I didn't know how to take it, to react".Mary replies, still with tears in her eyes.
" Can I at least let him know you're safe, he's been worried sick about you". Elena begs with her eyes.
" Fine, I just don't wanna see him for now".
She replies, gulping her drink again.
" You look famished, we need to get you something to eat". Elena says giving her a knowing smile.
Mary returns the smile.
