Chapter 1 - Sleep = Death?

Lillia went to bed after devouring the seven chapters of a newly released novel. Though her appetite for more was insatiable, only seven chapters were accessible.

Despite the temptation to continue, it was well past midnight, and she decided to opt for an early night's sleep, a rarity for her. In retrospect, maybe she should have chosen to dive into another webtoon, as she couldn't help but ponder the significance of her decision.

---

Lillia woke up from her slumber, her eyes slowly fluttering open to reveal a dazzling, opulent room. It felt like she had stepped into the pages of one of those reincarnation webtoons she had so often immersed herself in. The room seemed eerily familiar, as if she had been there before in some distant dream.

The grandeur overwhelmed her. The bed, expansive enough to house her entire apartment, looked fit for royalty. The reality of her situation slowly begun to sink in, and a whirlwind of thoughts raced through her brain.

Moments later, the heavy room door swinged open with a creak, and a petite figure steped into the room.

In a reflex, she shut her eyes tightly once more, feigning sleep, her heart pounded in anxiety as she thought of the stranger's next move.

Suddenly, she felt the touch of a hand attempting to undress her. Reacting on instinct, she seized the intruding hand and swiftly opened her eyes, only to find a young girl dressed in a maid's outfit. They locked eyes, both frozen in surprise.

The young girl let out a piercing scream, as though confronted by a ghost. Lillia released her hand, and she tumbled backward, landing unceremoniously on her bum.

Lillia assertively reminded her, "You were the one attempting to undress me. Let's not play the victim here."

"Apologies, Miss. I was simply trying to change your clothes as ordered. I'll summon the butler immediately," the young girl assured Lillia as she rose up from the floor.

Lillia examined the clothes in her arms and then glanced down at her own mud-covered attire, it became evident to her that she must have been rolling around in dirt.

Lillia asserted, "Hand me the clothes; I'll change them myself."

"Here, miss," the young girl quickly handed her the clothes.

Lillia asked, "Could you please direct me to the bathroom?"

The young girl courteously offered to show her the way to the bathroom.

Accompanied by the attentive young girl, Lillia made her way to the bathroom. The young girl waited outside the door, ready to assist Lillia if needed. It was all rather perplexing – her actions seemed as if she was Lillia personal maid, a concept straight out of those historical webtoons and novels.

As Lillia glanced around, taking in the grandeur of the place and the view from the windows while she followed the young girl, it became evident that she was indeed in a lavish palace, an unfamiliar but strangely captivating setting.

Lillia stood before the mirror, she was greeted by a reflection that left her utterly astonished. Her eyes, normally a mundane shade, had transformed into a captivating hue of blood-red. Her once-straight hair had become a cascade of luscious, curly black locks that framed her face in a way that was both enchanting and surreal.

Her skin, as pale as the finest pearl, felt almost otherworldly to the touch. She couldn't help but stare at the captivating image that stared back at her. It was as if she had been reborn into a body that was not only beautiful but possessed an otherworldly charm.

Lillia couldn't resist the urge to admire this newfound beauty, for it was a far cry from her former self. The idea of being transmigrated was creeping into her mind constantly, she couldn't help wondering if this transformation was related to her transmigrating into a story or maybe it was all just a dream who knows.

Unable to contain her amusement and newfound confidence, she playfully leaned in towards the mirror and begun to flirt with her own reflection. "Hey, how about going on a date with me? your just my type."

It was a strange and surreal moment, one that she couldn't resist indulging in, considering the inexplicable changes she had undergone.

She started singing out of nowhere, "I can show you the world, Shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?"

The young girl knocked on the door. "Miss, are you alright? Do you need any help?"

She suddenly snaped back to reality, realizing how absurd her behavior had been. The room fell into an uncomfortable silence, tainted by the lingering residue of her flirtatious whims. Guilt washed over her, she felt a pang of embarrassment in the air.

"Yes, I'm alright. I'm going to take a bath, so you can go now."

"Okay, I'll be in your room, miss." Lillia heard the young girl's steps getting further and further away.

After enjoying a peaceful bath and managing to put on the unfamiliar dress, which turned out to be less challenging than she had anticipated, Lillia cautiously opened the bathroom door to peer into the corridor. To her relief, there was no one in sight.

"Should I explore this place a bit?"

She walked aimlessly for a while, and quickly got lost she had no clue where she was. She looked out the window to see the garden she had seen the preview of earlier.

Lillia couldn't resist the allure of the garden any longer. The sight of colorful flowers and a sparkling fountain in the distance beckoned her. It was a stark contrast to the confinement of her apartment, and she longed for a breath of fresh air and the touch of grass.

Since she was lost within the palace, She decided she needed to find someone to guide her to the garden. As she wandered aimlessly, her eyes catch sight of a person in a black suit with grey hair, walking down the hallway, Lillia approached, hoping to seek their assistance.

"Um, hi. Can you help me out? I'm lost," Lillia asked awkwardly, her voice tinged with a touch of uncertainty.

The person in the black suit turned around to face her, revealing an old man with a gentle, wrinkled face. His eyes held a sense of kindness and understanding.

"Miss, you're awake how wonderful. How are you feeling now?" he inquired, a hint of concern in his voice.

"Yeah, I'm good. I wanted to get some fresh air and got lost. Can you help me get to the garden outside?" Lillia replied, unsure of how exactly to respond.

"Of course. You should've asked the maid assigned to you to call me as soon as you woke up, miss. Your Highness had been waiting patiently for you to wake up since yesterday," he explained while walking, and Lillia followed him obediently, relieved to have found a guide.

It seemed that the young girl she had encountered earlier was indeed her personal maid, and the mention of 'Your Highness' made her realize that she was about to be in the presence of royalty. Everything was becoming more perplexing by the minute, but she choose to focus on reaching the garden for now.

"I was also on my way to the garden to see Princess Alstroemeria," the butler added as they continued on their way.

"So, we going to see the princess?" Lillia asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Yes, miss. Make sure you greet her Highness and thank her for saving your life," the butler advised.

With each step, Lillia grew more intrigued by the mysteries of this palace and the role she was meant to play.

The walk through the palace gardens was a tranquil one, and she admired the picturesque surroundings. The butler, who had introduced himself as such, seemed to be well-versed with the palace structure and continued to guide Lillia towards a gazebo in the distance.

Approaching the gazebo, Lillia noticed the striking appearance of Princess Alstroemeria. Her pink hair made her stand out in the serene garden, and her presence exuded an air of elegance and grace.

If she had to to say it herself, there was no difference between the princess and the flowers.

As the butler engaged in conversation with the princess, Lillia's gaze was fixated on the princess's captivating purple eyes. They were a rarity she had never seen before, mesmerized by their beauty. The resemblance between this princess and the princess from the webtoon Lillia had read the previous night was uncanny.

It was as if the lines between fiction and reality had blurred, leaving her in a state of surreal wonder. With a deep breath, Lillia prepared to greet Princess Alstroemeria.

"Greetings, your Highness," Lillia gave her a smile.

"Finally, I get to meet you," Princess Alstroemeria spoke in the softest, most soothing voice.

"You must be confused right now. Take a seat. I'll explain the situation to you, and have a bite. You haven't eaten anything, right?" Princess Alstroemeria gestured to the spread of delicacies on the table.

The table before Lillia was laden with an array of delicious dishes, tempting her senses with their aromas and vibrant colors. Despite her confusion about the situation, she couldn't resist the pull of her empty stomach. Lillia took the seat opposite Princess Alstroemeria and began to indulge in the tantalizing spread.

As she savored each bite, she couldn't help but appreciate the flavors and the effort that had gone into preparing the meal. It was a stark reminder that, even amidst the mysteries and uncertainties of where she was, some things remained constant—like the pleasure of a good meal.

The princess observed Lillia's hunger with a warm smile, her demeanor radiating kindness and understanding. It was as though she recognized the need for nourishment beyond the physical, offering her not just food but also a sense of belonging and compassion.

Lillia continued to eat as Princess Alstroemeria explained.

Listening to Princess Alstroemeria's explanation, Lillia felt a sense of gratitude mixed with confusion. The series of events she described sounded suspicious. Lillia took another sip of the tea the butler had poured for her, its warmth soothing her nerves as she tried to make sense of her situation.

"So, I was found unconscious at the bottom of a mountain?" Lillia asked, seeking clarification.

The princess nodded gently. "Yes, that's correct. It was an unusual and rather remote location for someone to be found in such a condition. At first, we were cautious, suspecting it might be a trap, but we couldn't simply leave someone in need unattended. My maid insisted we bring you back to the palace."

Lillia nodded, trying to process the information. The circumstances of her arrival in this place remained shrouded in mystery. She had no memory of how she ended up in that remote location or why she was there in the first place. It was as though a significant part of her life had been erased.

"I appreciate your kindness, Your Highness," Lillia said, grateful for their assistance in her time of need. "But I must admit, I have no recollection of how I ended up in that situation or why I was there. It's all rather perplexing."

I might as well make my debut as an actress right now, but I seriously don't know what's going on either, Lillia thought.

The princess regarded her with a compassionate expression. "I can only imagine how bewildering this must be for you. We will do our best to assist you in regaining your memories and finding answers. In the meantime, please consider our palace your sanctuary, and do not hesitate to seek help or guidance whenever you need it."

The princess seemed like an angel saying these words. Actually though she looked like a rich noble lady that's why they had taken the initiative to take her in...

"It might be best for you to return to your room and get some rest. I'll go ahead and call the doctor," the princess suggested.

"But I just woke up, and I'm still eating," Lillia protested.

The butler gently intervened, "I'll accompany you back to your room so you can rest, miss." He guided Lillia away, much like a parent putting their child to bed.
