Chapter 12 : Action !
On earth, after concluding the pact with maki, jacob was preparing to launch the most devastating offensive his family had ever known. The first step was to get the truth out of the past, as Berthe had once told him: "this manor will be yours", and jacob was determined to take it over. There was no one left in the manor except jamil's two brothers, Berthe had gone into exile, and the other cousins in the family had all left to attend conferences, as they were all businessmen and politicians. But Jacob's vindictive thirst couldn't be satisfied by just the two lesser cousins who remained at the manor: they all had to pay for their affronts, they all had to suffer and pay their debts with their useless souls, which had no value and never will! It was then that Jacob went to the manor house and, still holding the keys his tent had given him, climbed the stairs to the third floor, where Berthe's office had remained untouched since that cursed day. The latter took advantage of the silence that reigned in the residence to send written letters to every member of the family, one by one, summoning them as soon as possible to the family manor for reasons of the utmost importance to Berthe. Berthe was highly respected among her family members, who confirmed their travel arrangements as soon as possible.Jacob was walking in the middle of the night, when everyone was sleeping discreetly in the corridors, when he saw a door ajar. Curious to see the contents of the room, he saw his uncle, the mute, who was seriously ill, clutching a newspaper with a leather cover. During Jacob's stay in the residence, the latter didn't even glance at him, for reasons unknown. The young man didn't enter and continued on his way. Negative vibes could clearly be felt in this wing of the house. Stairs at the end of the corridor led to a dark library which gave the impression that the path ended there, but jacob, knowing the map of the residence, gave a tap on the wooden cabinet's endowment and was certain, there was something behind it, the sound had spread, he continued to look at the books and suddenly he turned the chandelier in the corridor and a door opened in the cabinet leading to a room which Jacob entered, speechless at the horrible sight. Two men dressed in black were chained together, their remains half crumbled away, and they were the source of the waves. The two men were Berthe's servants, who had been charged with killing her brother long before she took it upon herself to do so. Their punishment was terrifying, as she whipped them and chained them in a room where mold was growing without food or water, waiting for them to die in total suffering. Jacob, not wanting to inform anyone of this, invoked Maki's spirit, which did not respond. The young man left the room, closed the door and returned to his mother's modest home. Two days later it was a full moon, and Jacob went under the tree on which he had placed the ribbon, and invoked the spirit of the lord of the underworld. Maki then appeared and the young man asked him about these two men and the reason for their atrocious punishment. Jacob requested that these men return to life. This was jacob's first wish! He then received the first golden ring and the two men were resurrected from the world of the dead and returned to life. The two men, now alive again, decided to follow Jacob in his quest for revenge, their hearts equally blinded by this desire... The first visits from the family's cousins came when the minister and his wife visited the manor. After chaining up the grumpy uncle, the minister and his wife were also chained up by the two men in the same room. The visits continued from day to day, and the disappearances were countless. Jacob was no longer human, having lost the most important quality of all men: humanity...
Rumors were circulating about disappearances from the mansion (see the book Children of the Night), and this was the subject of intrigue for the police, who once inside the mansion came out without having found anything, the room being perfectly camouflaged and the prisoners all gagged. The negative vibes had disappeared, however, as there were no more remains in the mansion, and the prisoners were also well-fed so as to be able to attend their sentencing. The rumors died down after the police visit, giving Jacob time to pursue his plans. Once all the family members were shackled and gagged, Jacob took over the family manor and made it his own residence, inviting his mother and sister, who wondered why they were in the manor at all, having both had bad memories within its walls. Jacob had obviously lied to them about how he'd taken over the house, and of course nobody knew anything about the pact, let alone the prophecy, not even Jacob, the famous chosen one. All parts of the house were open to the two women, except for Berthe's estate, which was now Jacob's property,as well as the famous corridor, and so as not to arouse his parents' suspicions about the ban, he told them that it had been his father's estate and that he didn't want anyone to go there, so as not to arouse memories of the deceased. They agreed, Rosée having earned a long respite from the suffering she had to endure to support her family after her husband's death. The latter's mother, also living out her last days, was taken to the family's new home, where she lived until she gave up the ghost.
But one thing was missing to complete the first stage of the plan, the key piece: Berthe, who had disappeared and no one had heard of her since the night she committed the murder, which she also kept secret. Berthe's presence was essential to the accomplishment of Jacob's revenge!
