Chapter 39 - Chapter 33: Something Wrong

The technique proved to be worthy of its rank, as Kazi found that it was harder to learn than others, he had learnt at least two B rank techniques prior to this one, but even those weren't as difficult.

'Maybe my approach is what is wrong.' With this in mind, Kazi prepared to use the rudimentary secondary school science from his previous life to apply into this.

After three days, Kazi was finally able to succeed in doing just what he thought about, applying good old science to this fantasy world. The difficult part was trying to get it to make sense when combined with ora with was an ethereal concept, but he succeeded after putting in much effort.

"We'll be able to return soon, I can't wait." Iro said. He appeared to be laid back, though not as much as Daru.

They had been moving around these past days, but luckily they had not encountered any enemies. Zain also inputted into Kazi's training whenever he could.

Because he was so absorbed into learning this technique, Kazi hadn't found time to learn from Iro. Also, he kind of didn't want to do so since he had unwanted eyes on him.

Soon, their first week was up and they were set to return, which they did.

Back at camp, they were short on people, so the same team that had gone the first time was still the one to keep up, so that meant Kazi and the rest went back for another week.

This time, he didn't care that Lanira was present. He had learnt the Air Vacuum Technique – Sword to close perfection before he could progress after all, so he still had time before that happened. Now, he could barely create a blade of wind that was around 3 metres, which was already stronger than his wind blade technique, and even at this level, the cut it created was far cleaner. Before he perfected this technique, he could just learn some light techniques, 'they also have the fastest movement techniques.'

"Mr. Iro, can you teach me some light techniques?" Kazi asked after a little greeting back and forth.

Iro was surprised to hear this, after all those with the light attribute were extremely rare, and if he was someone with the light attribute and was still dual attributed on top, it would be ground breaking.

"You have light attribute?" Iro asked, a bit in doubt.

"Yes." Kazi said, before circulating his ora actively within him and allowing the light attribute to show through it so that Iro could sense it.

"WOW, kid, you really are something aren't you? HAHAHAH... Of course, I'll teach you, tell you what, I might even take you under my wing as my student, hahahah."

"hehe... I'm not there yet." Kazi responded in a shy manner. 'That would not be the most beneficial for me.

From Iro, Kazi learnt some basic techniques like a blinding technique, two actually, he learnt a kind of bomb technique also, but that was all for the time. Even though Kazi was eager to learn the rest, Iro disagreed and wanted him to properly digest what he had learnt for the time being.

When night came, everyone took their roles and the others went to sleep while Zain took the first watch of the night, when it was time, Kazi woke up before Zain could do so and took over from Zain.

Shortly after he did, Kazi noticed something off into the other side of the enemy territory while he scouted from atop a pretty high tree.

'This, its at least a sizable force.' His senses where better than those of others, so he was able to see them coming from a farther distance.

From the branch he was on, Kazi dropped straight down. Of course, for a sutori, such height was not enough to harm them. He rushed to the small place where they had set up a small camp for the night to wake everybody.

'What is this... Are they trying to surround us?'

"Mr. Zain, Mr. Iro wake up!" Kazi called out. He didn't shout, but he said it with some form of urgency and the two men were up immediately before Kazi began explaining what was going on as fast as he could in few words. He also walked over to Lanira and kicked her to wake up.

"They are coming from both sides, up ahead and from that side," he pointed to the right.

"No, you're wrong... they are already here." Zain said in a cold voice, unlike his usual bright personality.

"What?" 'How is that possible?'

From the trees, four people appeared. It would seem that they were using some kind of stealth technique, so Kazi couldn't detect them with his sensory technique and could pick up any physical disturbances either.

"They are probably from the shadow unit to be able to manage this." Iro said.

"You two can't handle them, go now, we'll cover them while you escape, deal with them and come behind you before the rest of their teams arrive." Zain ordered.

Lanira tried to put up some resistance trying to say she could fight too, but Kazi who had looked at Zain and gotten the message direct from his eyes, dragged her away before she could even think any further.

'This idiot, I won't be dying with you.'

Lanira refuted, but Kazi easily overpowered her, jacked her up and ran away towards camp. With that, Zain and Iro could face the shadow unit properly.

"Alright, let's be done with this." Zain said, flaring up his ora.

"Be careful, these guys don't seem to be normal." Iro said, flaring up his ora also.

One of the enemy sutori on the tree who wore complete black with a ninja mask on his face just like the rest, raised a hand to signal something, and following his directions, another one of them took a knee on the branch he stood on, not as to prostrate but he activated a technique as the next moment disappeared.

"They're going after the kids!" Zain sprang into action. The one who just left seemed to be a shadow user too following the technique he used.

As Zain dashed towards the same direction Kazi had left in, two enemy sutori in black appeared close to him, one in front and the other behind, each swinging at him with curved daggers. He had no choice than to save himself first and tried to use a strong wind technique to push them away, but to his surprise, these guys were stronger than he thought.

'This isn't right...'

He was forced to jump back towards Iro.

"I told you, these guys don't smell right."

"Yeah, something is severely wrong here."
