Chapter 12 - CHAPTER TWELVE

A week had passed since Eleanor had been wrestling with her feelings, avoiding both Professor Thornton and Kamsi as she grappled with her own emotions. She couldn't let the complexities of her heart dictate her actions any longer. She needed answers and clarity, and she decided to start by seeking a conversation with Kamsi.

She approached Kamsi's apartment with a mix of anxiety and determination. Eleanor was determined to find out why he'd been so distant lately. Her heart pounded in her chest as she stood before his door, her finally summoned the courage and knocked on the door waiting for him to answer.

But when the door swung open, her breath caught in her throat. A beautiful brown-skinned girl with big doe eyes stood there, wearing what she assumed is nothing but a large t-shirt that Eleanor recognized as Kamsi's, her curly hair was in a bun and she looked like she had spent the night at Kamsi's place.

Surprise washed over Eleanor, and her voice quivered as she spoke.

"Um, hi. Is Kamsi here?"

The girl's eyes met Eleanor's, her expression a mix of curiosity and something else that Eleanor couldn't quite decipher. After a moment, she finally spoke.

"Kamsi? Oh, he isn't home, he went to class but you can drop a message if you want and I'll tell him you stopped by."

"Um... Just tell Kamsi, Eleanor, his neighbor stopped by. Thanks."

With that, Eleanor left, feeling a mix of emotions that ranged from curiosity to frustration and something else she didn't quite understand. She couldn't shake the questions that buzzed in her mind. What was the connection between Kamsi and the girl? Why had she been at his apartment, and why was she wearing his t-shirt? Why did she care so much that it felt like she was going to throw up?

Eleanor's encounter with the beautiful girl at Kamsi's apartment had left her feeling uneasy and somewhat vulnerable, she couldn't explain why she felt the way she did, she told herself it was because he left abruptly after their last conversation, and she hadn't gotten an explanation yet, yes, she must just be upset about that.

Hours passed, and Eleanor's unease grew. The doorbell finally rang, and it was Kamsi standing on her doorstep. His concerned expression mirrored her own inner turmoil.

"Hey, Eleanor," he greeted her in a quiet tone. "I heard you came by today. I'm sorry I missed you."

Eleanor couldn't hold back the frustration she was feeling. "Missed me?" she retorted, her voice tinged with anger. "You have been avoiding me the entire week, after left me in the middle of a conversation we were having, Kamsi. What's going on with you?"

Kamsi's expression shifted, revealing a mixture of regret and hesitation. "I know, and I'm sorry. I didn't plan for that to happen."

Eleanor crossed her arms, her frustration boiling over. "Well, it did happen, and I deserve an explanation, Kamsi, Why did you leave, Kamsi? Was it something I said?" she asked, her voice quivering with emotion. "I came to you for answers, and you just walked out and I don't know what I did wrong."

Kamsi's defensive stance was evident in his posture and the tension in his voice. "Eleanor, you don't understand," he countered. "There are things going on, things I can't explain."

Eleanor's eyes blazed with a mixture of anger and confusion. "That's not an answer, Kamsi. You owe me an explanation after leaving me hanging like that."

Kamsi kept quiet and looked away, Eleanor's frustration reached a boiling point. She couldn't suppress her curiosity any longer, and her voice rose with a fiery determination.

"Who is she, Kamsi? The girl in your apartment" she demanded. "Why was she at your apartment wearing your t-shirt?"

Kamsi's defensiveness turned to anger, and his eyes flashed with intensity. "Why do you even care, Eleanor? You have feelings for your professor, right? Why does any of this matter to you?"

Eleanor, her emotions in turmoil, couldn't provide a rational answer. She simply responded, "I don't know, Kamsi. I just do."

Kamsi's frustration was evident as he ran a hand down his face. His voice carried a note of exasperation as he replied, "You're making this hard for me, Eleanor."

Eleanor, feeling a mix of frustration and confusion, replied, "How am I making it hard for you, Kamsi? I just want to talk to my friend, is that so bad?"

Kamsi's patience had reached its limits, and he shouted in anger, "Maybe it's because I don't want to be your just damn friend, Eleanor!"

Eleanor, taken aback by his outburst, couldn't hide her shock. She asked, her voice trembling, "What do you mean by that, Kamsi?"

A part of her was scared that she was losing her only friend in this God forsaken world, What if Kamsi was ending their friendship? What if he tells her that he's repulsed by her feelings for her Professor? She was scared of losing him.

Kamsi's gaze locked onto Eleanor's, his eyes filled with a potent mix of emotions. Suddenly, he looked at her as if he could see every corner of her soul. The room fell silent for a moment, the air charged with tension and desire.

Then, in a voice that was raw and full of unspoken longing, he uttered a single, heartfelt word. "Fuck it."

Without hesitation, Kamsi's hand moved to the back of Eleanor's head, his fingers tangling in her hair, and he closed the distance between them. Their lips met in a searing, passionate kiss that transcended their heated argument. Kamsi's other hand found its place on her waist, pulling her close, their bodies pressed tightly together.

She stood there frozen at first, eyes wide, with both of her hands by her side but Eleanor's initial shock at Kamsi's bold move was quickly replaced by an overwhelming surge of desire. Her body melted into his, and she responded to his passionate kiss with equal fervor. As their mouths locked, Eleanor's hand found its way to the back of his neck, fingers wrapped around his head, while Kamsi's arms wrapped tightly around her waist.

With an irresistible pull, Kamsi lifted Eleanor, her legs wrapping around his waist as he placed her on the kitchen counter. Their kiss deepened, becoming more fervent, and Eleanor couldn't help but moan softly into his mouth, the sound a testament to the unspoken desires that had finally been unleashed.

His hands roamed her body with a fervent urgency, Kamsi's strong fingers tracing the contours of Eleanor's body, eliciting shivers of pleasure. Eleanor's hands moved along his back and shoulders, pulling him closer, as she lost herself in the intoxicating sensation of their lips and bodies pressed together.

The kiss deepened further, their mouths moving in a sensual dance of desire and longing. Time seemed to stand still as they surrendered to the undeniable chemistry that had always existed between them. It was a moment of unbridled passion, where words were unnecessary, and their bodies communicated their shared desire for one another.

In that heated moment, the boundaries of their friendship were irrevocably crossed, leaving them both intoxicated by their newfound connection. The uncharted territory of their relationship had been unveiled, and they were now helplessly drawn to explore the depths of their undeniable attraction.
