This is the first chapter of the book, Do not be shy please let me know what you think about it loves.❤️❤️
The sun painted the room with a soft morning glow, coaxing Eleanor Mitchell out of the cocoon of her warm bedsheets. She stretched and yawned, her ritualistic morning stretch resembling a cat's languid awakening.
Her bedroom was a sanctuary, an eclectic mix of posters, fairy lights, and a mountain of blankets. It looked like a creative explosion had occurred in there, with half-finished art projects scattered about.
Eleanor had always been the kind of person who felt most alive when the world was still asleep. The quietude of dawn allowed her to connect with her artistic thoughts, brewing like freshly ground coffee.
With tousled hair and a yawn that could have been mistaken for a symphony conductor's cue, she stumbled out of her room. Eleanor's morning routine always began with a caffeine ritual of her own – a steaming cup of strong coffee, the aroma of which was the siren's call to her senses.
As she sipped her coffee and stared out the kitchen window, the morning light bathed her small, cozy home. Charleston had its own kind of magic; the city whispered secrets in the rustling leaves and revealed stories in the historic brick buildings. Eleanor's childhood home was one such story, passed down through generations, each creaky floorboard a page in the family's history.
Today was special, different from the countless mornings that had come before. Eleanor had received the acceptance letter she'd dreamed of, the one that declared her admission to the Charleston Art Institute. It was the kind of news that made her heart race, and her smile was as bright as the sun streaming through the curtains.
But beneath her excitement lay a shadow – the unspoken tension with her mother, Margaret. Margaret had always been the practical one, with dreams of a secure, conventional future for her daughter. Eleanor's pursuit of art had been immediately shut down.
She didn't know how to tell her mom she had gotten an admission into the Charleston Art Institution, and she wondered if she had to tell her at all.
For all her mother knew was she's still waiting for replies from all the Ivy schools she had been forced to apply to.
"Eleanor, Have you heard anything from colleges yet? Margaret asked, her voice filled the whole room as she walked into the kitchen, it was filled with warmth and a tinge of worry.
Eleanor forced a huge smile on her face. "Not yet, but I'm hoping to hear something today but I don't want you to get your hopes up Mom."
Eleanor knew that her mother reluctance was coming from a place of love, She wasn't ungrateful and she understood the sacrifices her mom had to make to get them to where they are now.
The unsaid words hung heavy in the air, a conversation that had played out in her head countless times. Eleanor knew that her mother would never agree with her decision to study at an art institute, but her determination to follow her artistic calling was very powerful.
With a sigh, Eleanor headed out of the Kitchen, her heart pulsing with a mix of hope and trepidation. She got ready for the day and headed to out into the world.
She had lived in Charleston all her life, it was the only home she knew. The people, the stores, the old brick buildings and the Art Institute was about to become her new home.
She knew her mother would never pay for her to get a Art degree, Her mother believed she would be ruining in her future and she would be damned if she took any part in it.
She needed a plan and she needs to get a good one fast.
Eleanor's life was like a blank canvas, and the first brushstroke of her new life was about to be painted.
