"All my meridians are open, what does that mean?" Mo Hu couldn't help but shout loud.
'You're an anomaly, an impossibility, someone who shouldn't exist in this world,' the voice continued, 'This is the most amazing discovery ever. But it's a really humongous problem as well. Not only do you need resources that would rival a sect if you ever want to achieve your potential. Should anyone ever find out you will be killed on sight.'
'Then, it's an auspicious occasion that I made my way to this island, it seems to be the perfect location to train and grow,' Mo Hu replied.
'Perhaps, for now I'll return to my recovery, I wish you well,' and with that the voice disappeared.
Mo Hu proceeded to search the ring for cultivation methods and after some time, a pile of scrolls and manuals sat on the table. He quickly organized them by element and was relieved that all elements were represented, taking note that fire, water, earth, wood, and metal methods easily out numbered the last five. Since every method should be compatible with him, Mo Hu picked the first one and committed to memory, place it back into the ring and picked up the next one.
'A photographic memory is such a good thing, in this life and the last,' he contemplated.
For the next few days, Mo Hu memorized all the available methods and when the last one was put back into the ring, he began to review each scroll. Each scroll contained the name of the method, a description, and a chart of the human body and how to cycle Qi through the required meridians. To ensure the most efficient method, Mo Ho read through the Divine Storm Art, a method for wind and lightning users, and the Burning Earth Art, a method for fire and earth cultivators. He compared the charts by themselves but wasn't able to understand how the two elements fused together. After not making progress, he decided to use a different method to solve his problem. He went into his mindspace and displayed every fire element method side by side. Then he isolated the meridian chart of each one and began to layer them on top of each other and scanned it to locate the meridian nodes that were in common in all of them and mentally saved this new chart in his mind. Then he proceeded to accomplish the same task with all the earth methods and when both profiles were complete, he compared the simulated charts against the duel elemental chart. Once he comprehended how these methods worked, he understood it was time to build his chart so he searched the ring again, hoping to find a mirror inside.
After a few minutes, Mo Hu pulled out a giant seal made of polished silver. After brushing it once over with his sleeve he mentally contacted the mysterious voice, 'Senior, I'm sorry to bother you again but I need to investigate my body and locate all my meridians.'
'Of course, here when I checked your compatibility earlier, I already mapped it out,' Mo Hu heard in response.
Mo Hu received a image instantly and displayed his own chart next to the others. He overlapped the fire and earth charts over his own and stepped back to process the other eight elements in the same manner as the first two. Once all ten elemental methods had been catalogued, he started simulating them on his chart only to find difficulty in getting all the methods to work together. Even when simultaneously using all methods at the same time, some meridians wouldn't be used and others had multiple elements trying to pass through at the same time. The complexity of his situation left him astonished, but his intellect and determination drove him forward to experiment more.
Mo Hu revisited his memory of the day he broke through to the Qi Gathering stage. He relive his breakthrough and remembered the sequence of sensations he experienced and theorized that if he structured his cultivation method in the same order it would be successful. He began to methodically test and combine each cultivation method from every element until four days later when the modified method currently being tested not only harmonized all the elements but also exhibited greater strength. Exhausted, he named the method the Divine Element art and went to sleep.
The next morning, Mo Hu cleansed himself and ate his breakfast. Now that his mind was firm and his strength replenished, he went into the back room where the circle and mat was located. After searching through his library, Mo Hu found information about types of arrays and after comparing the ones in manuals versus the one in the room, he identified it as a spirit gathering array. After reading how to operate such an array he sat down on the mat and activated it. The pressure in the room started increasing and Mo Hu began to stimulate his cultivation method. His dantian greedily absorbed Qi from the environment like a dry sponge in water for the first time. Hours passed and his body teemed with newfound power. He finished his cultivation for today and prepared for his daily exploration. His ring contained a few blank scrolls, so he had been using them to map the area.
Mo Hu stealthily traveled through the forest comitting to memory the locations of certain plants, herbs, landmarks, water sources, and potential dangerous locations. He observed many animals during his travels to include birds, squirrels, rabbits, boars, wild cats, wolves, deer, and many others that he had barely glimpsed. As he was returning on his way home, his feet subtle shift in the air prompting him to adopt a more cautious approach. Sensing that something was approaching, Mo Hu found one of his regular hiding spots and waited. It didn't take long for his patience to be rewarded as five teenagers emerged from the forest.
