Ervin used this brief time to ponder on the magical principles of Telekinesis Control. He never really tested Complete Invisibility when studying his Physical Magical Arts.
It just never occurred to him to do so. With his new discovery from the crystal core test, he was quite excited to see the new changes to his magical perception studies.
Several minutes later the Mage Enforcer was done with his introductory speech.
He then checked down to a list formed by Mana and said, "When your badge number is called, raise it high to go over and meet your new partner..."
The process went as expected. Ervin didn't have to wait long before his badge number was called.
He went over to meet a nicely dressed young man who had a fit, lean physique.
This young man wasn't someone Ervin could recognize, but it didn't really make a difference if he could.
The young man gave a polite smile when he saw Ervin walk up to him. The young man's face was rather good looking, and his smile invited others to talk with him.
With a kind wave, he said first, "Glad to be working together. My name's Harvey. What's yours?" As he spoke, he extended his hand for a shake.
Ervin put on his own polite smile, giving Harvey a firm handshake as he said, "My name's Ervin. I am glad to be working together. It's quite something to be an actual Mage Enforcer, right?"
"Oh definitely!" Harvey's voice raised a little too loud, to the point some around them noticed, but he didn't care about gaining the attention. "It's been a long-time dream of mine to be a Mage Enforcer and maybe even enter the Spirit Mage realm. But above all, I just want to maintain the peace in our society and make something out of my life."
"I see. I can say the same." Ervin calmly smiled. Though internally, he didn't really care about what he was saying or what Harvey was saying.
There was no fakeness in Harvey's actions or tone. Ervin could tell better than the average person due to his Magical Sense.
And Ervin simply wasn't all that interested in these kinds of talking or cared that much about furthering his relationship or making connections.
Thankfully, it was right at this time that the proctor gained everyone's attention by clearing his throat.
He began to explain, "For your first couple of weeks, you shall be assigned to several mock patrols before forming a real patrol group. But do not think you will do nothing on these mock patrols. When danger inevitably comes, you will be expected to join in the fight. Here. Come choose your choice of a Common Magical Weapon. Do not go for something you have no experience in. It will lead to your downfall."
As the Mage Enforcer spoke, a ring on his brightly gleamed with Mana.
The Mana spewed out a bright flash of magical radiance. When the flash cleared away, there was now a long table right before the Mage Enforcer.
The table contained a variety of Common Magical Weapons. Ranging from specific types of magical guns to magic-infused physical weapons such as swords, spears, axes, and even Warhammer.
Among all Common Magical Weapons, the magical guns seemed like the safest option to choose. One can attack from a long distance while also firing out a powerful enough force to kill their enemies.
For mortals, guns are an extremely helpful tool that changes any battle.
But for Mages, Ervin knows that magical guns lose their value very quickly.
Depending on the demonic beasts out in the wilderness, some are at least three times, if not, five times faster and stronger than Early Stage Novice Mage.
And any Novice Mage can use Mana to greatly amplify their bodies beyond the peak physical condition of any non-Mage.
Regular bullets, no matter how powerful can't do a thing against the more powerful Class 1 Demonic Beasts. Magical bullets fare far better.
However, one still needs to accurately aim their magical guns at the quick Demonic Beasts. And even if a bullet hits, the amount of Mana needed for one bullet is a considerable chuck out of the energy reserves.
Ervin had already comprehended physical Magical Arts that tremendously amplified his physical prowess. Using a Magic infused weapon will perfectly synergize with his art, making him deadlier to anyone else but also that more vulnerable to Demonic Beasts.
Ervin wasn't afraid of taking on danger, so his choice came in the hand of a Common-Grade Magical silver sword.
The silver sword fit comfortably in his palm. The weight wasn't too light or heavy, he would be able to expertly swing out to slash any demonic beast standing in his way.
When amplified by his Magical Arts, Ervin was at least assured of killing any other Early Stage Novice Mage and a weak Early Class 1 Demonic Beast with relative ease.
When everyone was finished picking their Common Magical Weapons, the proctor explained next, "Alright. I hope you all chose well. Now go into the halls and find the patrol team your badge numbers match. I pray for everyone's success here."
With the instruction given, Ervin made his way into the halls, quickly identifying the patrol team with the same badge number.
Harvey was right behind him, looking highly eager to start his Mage Enforce experience.
Getting close, Ervin studied who he would be temporarily working with.
There were three men and one woman, each of them naturally exuding a magical presence that dominated all those below them.
Their magical feel wasn't quite as powerful as the proctor in the last room. But they all certainly had Magical power beyond all manners of mortal comprehension.
The four-man team similarly noticed Ervin and Harvey as they approached close.
Two of the men had vaguely interested looks but still looked mostly bored as if this was a tiring routine for them.
The woman had a polite smile curling her lips, she was the most inviting to talk to.
The man at the front of the group radiated a natural leader presence. His piercing gaze was something that any lower Mage could not resist.
Harvey certainly felt exposed to this man's gaze, feeling nothing more than an ant in front of a huge mountain.
While Ervin used the flow of his Mana to keep his expression and body calm.
The man with a dominating presence lightly smiled at the two new recruits. He said to them, "So we will be showing you two the robes, eh? Alright, you look promising enough. You can just call me Dylan. These two are Jorge and Jerry and she is Sydney. And since you two are even standing before us, I can assume you are aware of what this means, right? The duties us Mage Enforcers needs to fulfill."
Harvey was the first to answer, his tone overly eager. "Right! To ensure order and control! No matter what it takes, I will never go back on people in need."
"Mn. To ensure order and control." Was all that Ervin said in his usual calm tone.
That was enough for Dylan's team. They did like the enthusiasm and determination Harvey had.
But they can also appreciate more methodical people like Ervin. At least, they believed he was a calm type going by his unfazed demeanor.
"Good. Now, let's get going." Dylan gave the order.
There was no need for any further instruction. With Dylan's team taking the lead, Ervin and Harvey followed them out building. They, along with numerous other mock patrol teams were going to take their first steps in what being a true Mage Enforcer is like.
...
Dylan's patrol team swiftly made their way through the city through one of the specially crafted cars senior Mages had.
Wherever they go, attention would gather on them. Their Mage Enforcer's Robes alone gave them the power to dominate Non-Mages and even lower Mages below them.
Harvey couldn't help but feel enamored by the gazes of respect thrown his way. He, unlike others, comes from humble roots where his family wasn't the most well-off. Not many even took a second look in his direction until he finally became a Mage.
A young man like him couldn't possibly ignore the looks of respect.
While Ervin simply readied himself to face any danger when they made it outside of the city.
The place they were heading to was the outer area of the Twilight Woods.
