Ervin didn't wait a single moment, promptly turning and walking towards the exit without so much as a glance back over his shoulder. As far as he was concerned, the transaction was complete and there was no need for further pleasantries or niceties. A cold detachment filled his dark eyes.
"Ah, right. I wish you good luck," Lacey said quickly, a polite but strained smile plastered across her face. She had no choice but to be pulled along in the wake of Ervin's whims and impulses.
Annoyance flared within her like a spark catching dry tinder. If she could, she would try to instill some semblance of empathy or sympathy in the uncaring man, but she knew such efforts would be utterly pointless.
"The decaying pill will be ready," Alchemist Sean spoke, a blazing determination burning in his eyes.
