Chapter 13 - Be Careful of Whom You're Messing Up With

Alexander and Yukie did their first dance performance to the ball from the main hall room as their dance was the most awaited for married couples as well as the guests. Alexander wrapped his right hand on her waist whilst his left hand on her left hand, intertwining. Yukie's left hand was at his back, not letting him go while they were dancing.

The sound of violin, piano, and bass synchronize their dance, Alexander lifts their hands and lets her spin gracefully. Yukie almost lost her balance as she felt a little dizzy and Alexander successfully caught her in order not to fall on the floor. Their dance shows love and unity between this new couple while being naïve that their spouse is already slowly developing love and romantic feelings with each other.

Yes, they know that they're slowly in love with the one they tie the knot to, what they don't have an idea is that the one they're tying their knot is also felt the same way. Yes, their feelings are in slow progress but they grow little by little making their heart beats fast and thump.

"Thank you, my husband."

Yukie genuinely thanked him while slowly regaining her energy from the little dizziness she experienced from spinning on their dance. Even though their wedding dance is impromptu, she's glad that the dance class she got when she was young is now useful at their wedding. The way they danced, shows how they work together between the bride and groom in a harmonious way.

"Now that looks romantic and special on their dance, one of the most highlights here in the wedding, the wedding cake cutting ceremony.

May We Request the couple to proceed to the cake's table….Ladies and Gentlemen. Please direct your attention to the cake-cutting tradition. The husband and wife will put their hands together to slice the cake."

Princess Victoria announced while looking at the married couples and then the guests. As they reach the cake table, Yukie's eyes are bulging when Alexander draws a sword that sticks on his hips. The glistening blade of his sword is making Yukie enough nervous, thinking of how sharp this sword is. He placed his hand over to hers as they exchanged eye contact and couldn't help but smile from ear to ear.

"The husband and wife will put their hands together to slice the cake. The husband's duty is to show his support and as a promise to take care of his spouse and their future as it shows he placed his hand on top of her."

Their two hands moving as one with one purpose symbolizes that the two will work in unity to reach their common goals for their shared future and their life together as one. Sharing the food, including their wedding cake symbolizes their willingness to fulfill each other's needs, creating a bond that only Yukie and Alexander could share that'll be so simple yet so strong. They successfully slice the cake into small portions.

They feed each other from the first slice of the cake as this act symbolizes their commitment to share and provide for one another. This also symbolizes love, respect, and honor with each other plus a display of affection.

"Now before we start the wine ceremony, I now think it's appropriate that Queen Yukie and King Alexander kiss each other right in front of us."

Both of them almost got choked at her sudden words, the guests were eager to witness their kiss again. Alexander had to kiss his spouse at the wedding ceremony cause that's the rule of the holy matrimony and he had to. He wasn't sure if Yukie would be comfortable with this as he was also aware of her feelings. King Alexander quickly kissed her chubby cheeks and some of the guests frowned, especially the hosts.

"Oiy, Your Highness, that's an improper kiss, not a genuine kiss."

Alexander didn't want her to make Yukie discomfort and almost said a word to Princess Victoria but he was completely surprised by what happened. Yukie kissed him as she pressed her lips into his and slightly opened her mouth to kiss him a bit longer. Her sweet fine lips made her spouse almost lose himself as he responded back to the kiss. The crowds were cheering for them and Yukie broke off the kiss. Alexander did not expect Yukie to make a move first.

"I am sorry my husband about that. I don't want to see us as a suspicious one, it's only a kiss and you stole my first kiss. Let's just kiss if they ask for formality."

Yukie explained why she suddenly kissed him. He was surprised that Yukie mentioned he stole her first kiss. Does that mean she is inexperienced?! Now the urge to be protective of his wife is growing deeper than before.

Princess Victoria announces the wine ceremony as she reads the symbols and meaning of this ceremony. Yukie and Alexander grabbed the prepared two goblets with their names engraved.

"To symbolize and celebrate the blending of your two lives into one, I invite you to perform the wine ceremony."

The arms of the couple will intertwine as they drink the goblets filled with red wine. The taste of bitter-sweet and tangy from the wine swirls in their tongue and it gives them a warm sensation inside. This ceremony represents the two of their individual lives, now intertwined; combined like the two goblets of wine into one single life. Drinking the combined wine signifies the commitment they are now making to live their lives as one family.

"May you remember this day of commitment you have sealed with drinking of the new wine and joining your lives as one. Help me to give them applause for Mr. and Mrs. Arison."

The crowds clapped their hands as they expressed their gestures and actions as husband and wife. Princess Victoria that the bride and groom have to give a speech at a traditional wedding of a Royal Family. Yukie spoke first as she cleared her throat, taking a deep breath to calm herself and her nerves. She took a glance at her spouse first, then the audience.

"Pleasantries, ladies and gentlemen, first of all, I would like to express myself a proper thank you to all of you to witnessed and joined our wedding with my husband. And to all the noble people who joined and acted the role both of our wedding and my coronation.

Now let me begin to speak a message, first of all, I know all of you were surprised that I am the eldest daughter of the ruler and a leader of Derora, King Harry Von Assfrior, and The most beautiful and kindest person and Queen of Derora known as the Golden Heart of Kingdom Agathos back in her monarchy days, Queen Kateleryn Mae Sinclair-Assfrior and the most beautiful and more accomplished crowned princess of Derora, Princess Sophia Lynn Derora while I got the title as the Unrecognized Princess."

Mumbles and whispers were all they could hear, buzzing in her ears. Alexander was perplexed about why his spouse said a word like that. He wanted to stop her and try to comfort her but paused when Yukie added a word.

"But now thank you to my family for giving me a life and now I have learned to become independent and be grateful for what I am even though in the future I  may lose my title as a princess and be stripped of the throne in the Assfrior family but it turns out different like how I did not expect this would happen to me.

I am now happily married to my spouse, the one who made his Kingdom stronger and braver than before, the youngest king of all royal history, and the only child of the Highness', Mr. and Mrs. Arison named King Alexander Spencer Arison. I am grateful that I suddenly got crowned and passed the throne as a Queen of Adkins and I am kind of nervous cause it's my first time to get this title, right here in our wedding but I will do my best to become a responsible, reliable, and kind to my citizens, my fellowmen, and other people from the different kingdom in the country of Nadinia.

In my speech with my partner, I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude to my incredible husband. From the moment we met first at the Peony Flower Farm, you saw me there crying and you were there with me even though we just met in the late cold Monday evening. I felt ashamed that I call you mister when I don't have a clue that you're the King of Adkins and I hereby apologize."

Some crowds laughed at her words of how clueless she was, some guests were disappointed cause how come she'd marry her spouse without knowing he was a King. But to Alexander, it feels different, seeing her and hearing her soft angelic voice is a pure melody in his ears.

"I felt different when I was with you, Your Highness when we met while we were sitting under the small gazebo, stargazing and had a heart-to-heart talk without minding our status and title, I knew you were the one for me. You have been my rock, my partner, and my best friend. Today, on our wedding day, I feel so lucky to be standing beside you as your wife.

I am grateful that you chose me as your wife, seeing your reactions earlier that you admitted things about me as you did not regret marrying me, I realized that there is someone who sees me as an important person in your life, I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Thank you for being my husband, soulmate, my king, and forever partner. I will love you always and forever, Alexander Spencer."

Then it hits him hard and lifts his feet off the ground, Alexander thinks she only said this for the sake of their marriage alliance and the guests who were invited on their wedding night. What he doesn't know is that Yukie's words are genuine with love, but when she says she feels grateful that marrying him is enough for him, at least she is comfortable with him.

But if Yukie finds out about his pasts and secrets, will she still feel grateful for staying by him and tying their knots together? He wasn't sure but as long as he had time, he didn't want to let her go and lose her. He cannot help himself but take a step closer and hug her, leaving Yukie speechless.

While the crowds are supportive of Yukie's words and heartwarming and raise a toast as an ending for her speech there's someone who ruins and crashes their wedding party when Alexander almost starts his speech for his spouse.

"HUUUHHHH!!!!!! YOU! DO YOU FEEL SO LUCKY AND GRATEFUL, SIS?! SHAME ON YOU! YOU'RE JUST MARRIED TO HIM BECAUSE YOU ARE OUR SACRIFICIAL PAWN IN KINGDOM DERORA, KING ALEXANDER'S ORIGINAL PLAN WAS TO MARRY ME INSTEAD OF YOU BUT I REJECTED IT CAUSE I HAVE PRINCE VIKTOR! STOP LIVING IN YOUR DAYDREAM LAND, YUKIE!"

The sound of rage resonates in the main hall of the palace, causing a scene with loud gasps and shocking reactions is visible to Yukie's eyes. She was supposed to be mad at her sister, who crashed their party but what is her reaction? Her sister was right and Alexander was supposed to marry Sophia, not herself. She saw her sister's facial expression; a mischievous grin plastered on her face and her innocent-looks beauty was ruined by her evil reactions. Prince Viktor and King Harry are surprised at her outburst, causing a scene at the party supposed to be happy and joyful. They try to stop her but Sophia does not end her unwanted and annoying drama.

She was supposed to say another word, but someone projected a chilly aura, the ambiance she felt was murderous and heavy and it came from her husband, his daggers were enough to kill a person and Sophia realized she had dug herself into a grave and it's unexpected that Alexander is completely mad at her.

"Dare to say a word and you'll get punished with my own hands, Sophia Lynn Assfrior. You are the most unworthy, ungraced, and arrogant princess and woman I ever met.  Your level compared with my wife is too far and she is better and more professional than you."

Alexander's words are like a spear that stabs Sophia's heart, not because she has romantic feelings for him but because she dislikes how her older sister is climbing above the stairs and reaching the top than her who is a crowned princess in Derora.

"And that's right, I was supposed to marry you but your father suggests that I should marry your elder sister who is my queen and my wife, and I'd rather marry a pure and golden-hearted angel like her than an ill-mannered pretentious crowned princess like you. I see you as nothing but useless in my eyes."

His words spat venom as his gaze pierced her, staring deep inside her soul and he can end her life as soon as he pleased. The way he put his left arm around her shoulders and leaned his spouse closer, trying to comfort Yukie was enough for her to swell her heart in happiness and be protected by him.

"And now you cause a ruckus here in my party, you break the law and our alliances in Derora, I hope you'll be happy with the news tomorrow. For now…."

His free hand snapped his fingers and instantly the royal guards showed up in front of them, as Alexander locked his murderous gaze on Sophia Lynn.

"Get her out of my and my wife's sight, and she is forbidden to touch, see, and speak with my wife, and also forbidden to step here in Adkins or she'll be executed even she is my sister-in-law. She shows no respect here and my wife."

Sophia's eyes protruded in fear and threat as she heard unexpected orders from the fearsome king in Adkins. She screamed in defense as the guards dragged her and kicked her out of his palace. Prince Viktor saw it and he followed outside while King Harry only glared at the couple a bit longer than he walked out with stomped feet.

  "Florencia"

Alexander says with an authoritative voice. In a fraction of a second, Angelica shows up and kneels before him even though she's still wearing a dress. He leaned a little bit and whispered to his secretary, she straightened herself and saluted him.

"Your wish is my command, your Highness."

Angelica obediently follows his order and walks out of sight.

"I do hereby apologize about a scene we created here and sorry for the inconvenience. I'll speak a word before we end this ceremony and fill your empty stomach by taking a bite of the foods we prepared here."

Before Alexander starts his speech, he rubs Yukie's stiffened shoulders, reassuring his spouse that he'll protect her no matter what happens, they exchange their gazes first then he opens his mouth as he speaks and faces the crowd.

"I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who attended and witnessed the wedding with my wife, the people who also agreed to take the role in our wedding and wife's coronation, to Queen Delphinium I am very thankful to attend our wedding and be a mistress of robes on my wife's coronation, to King Gregor who approved my family's will about the queen's coronation and…"

Alexander paused a while, like he was controlling himself but he regained his composure and continued his speech.

"A-and my family even though they're not here physically I am so grateful that they had me as their only son. They're my weakness and my strength and I am so grateful that they give me the freedom of whom I'll marry. I am glad I chose the right one and that is Queen Yukie Mae Assfrior-Arison.

To my wife, thank you for telling me that you felt happy and grateful even though this marriage was arranged, but you reassured me to not worry. When I met you at the Peony Flower Farm, the first thought I wanted to do with you even though I realized that you are the eldest daughter of a King from Derora is to PROTECT YOU.

I will do anything and everything in order my queen will be safe while you're here beside me. My wife, please do not be afraid and have second thoughts about me as I won't hurt you and break your heart. You are too special to me and you are a unique woman I ever met you made me caught off guard by meeting you."

Hearing his words, her eyes widened and a tear formed in her eyes. Alexander gently wiped her tears using his thumb and kissed her forehead then he faced back at the crowd.

"Words cannot express the depth of my love for you. You are my rock, my best friend, and my partner in all of life's adventures. Your beauty, both inside and out, continues to amaze me every day. I am the luckiest person in the world to call you my wife.

Even though you're known as an unrecognized princess, here in my heart, you are my angel, my queen, and my wife and I will love you unconditionally."

The guests raised their toast out of a sudden, and the two married couples were surprised at this gesture, they knew the real meaning behind this as this was a culture from Nadinia, a symbol that they support married couples and wish them for the best.

Yukie and Alexander joined the toast and celebrated their wedding with joy and delight.
