Chapter 2 - Awakening

Space, quantity, dimension, time, form... concept after concept was grasped by my mind shortly after awakening. I looked around me, amazed by the landscape. The place where I was born was the highest peak of a great rock mountain. Stars twinkled in the vast night sky, their light reflecting off the snow-capped peaks of the surrounding mountains.

Lush forests stretched across the valleys, rushing rivers meandered between the hills and in the distance, I glimpsed the undulating silhouette of an endless ocean. Suddenly, the starry sky began to move rapidly, as if time itself was dancing. The night receded into the sunset and then advanced to the dawn, the bright light of morning and then culminated at the starting point. My eyes, took on an intense glow as I gazed in awe at the transition of the sky. As the firmament changed, I noticed the presence of small lights. A hidden message was revealed before me, traced by them and the movement of the stars. The words glowed with an unearthly radiance.

  [Tiera.]

- Is it you? You have created something wonderful, but what am I to do here? - The stars were silent.

"Alright, if you don't want to answer I'll find you and get the answers out of you" I turned around to go down, I was doing it awkwardly as I was still analyzing the peculiarities of my body.

Sssshhhh! An icy breeze ran through my body. huuuu! the sound of a melodious voice rang out from where I had started to descend from, I stopped, my senses sharpened by intrigue. It was then that the ground gave way beneath my feet, and I rolled downhill from the peak.

With a choked gasp, I managed to grab hold of the edge of a rock, "What's this?" - If you're going to answer because you're late? - Sssshhhh!" I got only a breeze in response. As I struggled to find a safe way to climb back up, a small creature landed on my hand, its curious eyes meeting mine. For an instant, I forgot my precarious situation as I watched the little animal. But remembering the abyss beneath my feet I instinctively moved, involuntarily startling the animal, which decided to bite my hand in response. The stimulus caused me to lose my grip and I found myself in free fall.

The wind howled in my ears as I descended, my heart pounding in my chest. And for the first time I felt, fear. I turned my body to stare at the ground, the impending collision was now inevitable.

Huuuu! The voice, soft and musical, drifted into the darkness, filling the air behind me with a mysterious aura. I closed my eyes, tears spilling from my eyelids from the pressure of the wind, as my being was filled with a deep fear.

"Why aren't you answering?" I wondered in despair.

(30 seconds to collision)

[Sorry.]

Gradually the impact against the ground approaching, I decided to keep my eyes closed.

"Because you're sorry?" The answer was taking time.

(3 seconds to collision)

[I'm already dead]

In that instant, my eyes widened, my instinct reacted. My body heated up, and with a powerful movement of the muscles in my back, two immense wings emerged from me. With supernatural strength, they flapped against gravity, defying the inevitable fall. My body soared at the last second, avoiding collision with the ground by the slimmest of margins.

[Prim 1/1.301, You are Primaevus]

It had already been 1 day since his awakening and that sign was the only answer he had managed to get from the place. He knew simply 3 things: that there should be 1300 just like him, that his name was Primaevus. A human. and that something not so good would happen if he let himself get caught by his pursuers.

Ting, Ting, Ting! quick, metallic footsteps echoed in the distance that was getting shorter and shorter. Grrrr! Growls made the human's heart leap as he hurriedly ran across a vast, mountainous plain. The earth trembled under the metallic paws of the beasts, which moved with relentless ferocity. The young man zigzagged between the rocky knolls, looking for any cover he could find. However, the mechanical creatures followed his trail effortlessly, their glowing eyes illuminating the darkness like evil stars.

One of them landed in a high area.

Snar!

From on high it growled as it surveyed its surroundings. Its body was covered with metal plates, and its jaws were equipped with sharp metal teeth. Primaevus with bated breath understood that these creatures were no ordinary animals; they were created to hunt, and he was their prey. "Why is this so, why do I feel this way?" the prim felt oblivious to death. "I must escape." He opted to be silent, his mind making estimates and calculations at breakneck speed. Cautiously, he began to walk close to the protruding surfaces on the ground, avoiding the gaze of the mechanical animal watching from above, he knew he had little time, so he hurriedly searched the ground for patterns. The wind blew gently, carrying with it the scent of earth and moss.

  Grrrr!

They had found it, the young prim resumed his run without looking back.

"What can happen?" in the blink of an eye appeared in his mind.

[Prim 1/1,300, You are Primaevus]

After receiving the disturbing message he observed a small flat part stretched out in front of his eyes, many rabbits and rodents were on the run from the threatening noises, each had their escape route under their burrow. Instinctively the young man rested his gaze on a narrow passage between the rocks, barely large enough for him to slip through. Already he could hear the breathing of the beasts behind him. "Two...Three... That's five, I won't make it" He could feel a claw come to narrowly tear the skin on his heel. When out of nowhere in front of him, a small creature with curious eyes met his gaze.  The pursuers hesitated at the presence of a variable, but Primaevus continued on his way, "now I can make it" he continued to watch the passage, but shortly before he arrived he decided to turn his face away.

The small creature was fleeing towards its den and one of the beasts was about to reach him, it had changed its prey. Primaevus was a step away from being able to cross the passage, but "something" stopped him when he noticed tender eyes peering out of the burrow to which the little creature was heading.

[a pika] "Another useless message!"

Without thinking, he picked up a stone from the ground and threw it with perfect technique towards the beast's jaw, at that instant a wave of wind and the sound of a powerful gust spread throughout the nearby area, it seemed to come from the highest peak visible in the distance. The metallic animals were petrified for an instant and the pika managed to escape.

When the prim reacted and tried to enter through the rocky passage, one of the beasts got between him and the entrance. "So I lost sight of one."

  Snar!

The beast leapt up and pinned him against the ground, its jaw opening to bite his face. Primaevus reacted quickly, positioning his arm as a shield, and the bite found his flesh. ugh! Blood spurted, and the other beasts joined in the attack.

"What will happen to me?"

Whooosh!

A furious wind picked up again, and a shadow swift as a feline swooped down on the beasts above the human.

-What, what are you doing! - A thick, haughty voice reverberated through the place. Primaevus with his bloodied hand tried to rise, his gaze met the figure of an incredibly tall young man, his silhouette standing out against the horizon with an unearthly elegance. His wings, bright and shimmering, were adorned with scales that resembled neon eyes, each flashing with bright, vibrant colors.

Her hair was a deep green, like the foliage of the deepest and most mysterious forests. Her eyes, the same bright yellow as the sun at its brightest, radiated an indescribable intensity and power. This yellow hue spread around his body like an aura. His face was imposing and expressed a fierce determination. He had a look full of overprotective violence, as if he was constantly on the alert, ready to protect what he considered his own.

"Is it a new discovery...or a new threat?"
