Did you know that Teens can grow so fast, their brains can't keep up? It's not the teens' fault if they're particularly clumsy. Why? Because most teens grow so quickly that their brains can't calculate the new rules for balancing. Poor teens. Clumsiness is often unavoidable.

Introducing to you all, Susan Austin, an intelligent thirteen-year-old girl from Richmond High. Her specialty is hers alone and she is one of a kind. The summer break was about to start within 2 days and Susan was excited! She loved holidays mostly because it meant no school, no homework, and no studies. That sounds like a great amount of fun. Except for the part where it isn't!
It was late at night around 10:45 pm and Susan was lying on her bed with her long wavy brown hair open and with sleepy brown eyes. She was tired and wanted nothing more than to be asleep, but, some thought was keeping her awake. What could she be thinking about? Her grades? Nope, no way. Susan was a straight-A student, so no grades could ever bother her. Then was it her homework? Of course not! Susan is a sincere student who loves her life and lives it to the fullest. Meaning no amount of stupid summer homework can stop her from enjoying the upcoming vacation. Then what on earth is keeping Susan awake?
Hold on. Her social life of course! Duh! I forgot that. Susan was grateful for the beautiful friends she had. They were all so supportive of her and their bond was deep. Well, or that's what she thinks it is.
Wait. She has gotten up and is writing something in a diary. Fine. I admit. It's improper to read someone else's diary but what to do? I'm so curious to know what she's writing! Let's check it out!
She writes the following words, "How fortunate of me to have such a caring and understanding friend circle, especially for having a best friend like Vanessa. She's the best. We have known each other since kindergarten and share the same interests. What will I do without her? She's my everything! I remember the day she stood up for me in sixth grade when I said that English is boring! Thank you, God, for giving me such a caring friend!", wrote Susan with tears streaming down her beautiful whiskey brown eyes.
Wow, that sounds pathetic, right? I don't know if that was sweet and innocent of her or just utterly stupid to think that way. I mean, slow down girl, you just entered High School, there is so much more left to happen. I strongly feel that this friendship is going to become toxic. Just imagine she is thinking like that in 9th grade. Stop it, girl, you have a life ahead! And your Vanessa most probably won't be anywhere around when you need her the most, well at least my 'best friend wasn't!
But worry my dear, I will be there when something like that happens. She closes her diary and lies down. Her eyes were full of tears of gratefulness and slowly they closed themselves allowing Susan to fall asleep.
The next day, was school and today is the day when Susan's life is going to change forever. Nope, no spoilers!
Susan reaches school a few minutes early, just like she usually does. She walks down the hallway towards her locker and hey, look, over there near Susan's locker. That's Vanessa, Susan's best friend. Susan is excited to see her bestie. She approaches her and says, "Good Morning Vanessa!", with a lot of excitement.
But Vanessa didn't reply. No. Don't jump to conclusions, yet. Maybe she didn't hear Susan? I mean Vanessa was kinda of hard of hearing if you ask me. "Good Morning Vanessa", she said again. No reply.
Vanessa simply ignored Susan and left for the homeroom without saying a word.
"Something is wrong. Did she fight with her mom again? What did she do this time? Or maybe she's too busy. Perhaps it's Football practice?", thought Susan. Vanessa and her mom fought very often, mostly on the topic of Vanessa's short temper and her disrespectful attitude. Guess now that is fault's fault after all.
Her best friend Vanessa is a mathlete and loves sports. Whereas Susan is a nerd and hates sports and everything that involves sweating and dirt. Funny how they were best friends.
Susan didn't follow Vanessa just to give her some space. That was a wise step, Susan. Trust me the last thing you want is to enrage your bestie early in the morning.
Just at that moment, "Good morning Susan!", said Anne in a cheerful voice. "Greetings to you as well, dear Anne!", replied Susan in the way she had expected Vanessa to answer.
"So Susan, in just two days we have our vacations starting, wanna crash at Millie's for a celebration party on Saturday itself? Katie and Jade will be there as well!", asked Anne.
Anne is the happy face of the group. She is soft-spoken but bold, caring but stubborn when needed.
"Sure! Why not? Isn't Vanessa coming?", asked Susan out of curiosity. She didn't want to leave out her best friend!
"Well, we invited her, but she said that her nanny won't allow it, and she isn't the celebrating type either", replied Anne with a little disappointment on her face.
"What if I convinced her?", asked Susan in a hopeful voice.
"Best of luck then!", answered Anne with happiness flashing in her eyes.
"Agreed! So I'll talk to her and tell Millie whatever Vanessa finally decides." Susan said.
RRIIINNNNGGGGG...
"Well that's the bell ringing and ruining things!", said Anne.
"In that case, see you later!", said Susan as she and Anne parted their ways and headed to their respective homerooms.
Susan, you are the best! I know that you will manage to clear things up and convince Vanessa. Now go ahead and finish school and then prepare yourself to enjoy your holidays.

Susan enters her homeroom and takes a seat right next to Millie. "Morning Millie", she said in a happy tone as she took her seat.
"Bonjour Susan!", replied Millie.
I would like you to meet Millie, the absolute nerd of the group with no interest in anything other than her books! I know, there is always that friend who can't talk about anything but books and is super sensitive to criticism. And yes, as a matter of fact, Millie is very much that friend.
"So are you gonna come to my house on Saturday?", asked Millie hoping to get a 'yes.
"Yes I am", replied Susan.
"Thank God! I am so happy that you are coming! Cause that means Vanessa will show up as well! I know she would never disagree if you show up.", said Millie with uttermost confidence.
"Well! I haven't spoken to her yet", said Susan not wanting to upset Millie.
"No problem! I know you will convince that sporty introvert", answered Millie with a big smile on her face. And that smile made Susan's day.
A smiling face is a beautiful face.
The first class begins with the teacher entering the classroom and wanting to guess which subject it is. Well? Any guesses? English, yeah you got it right! Susan's 'favourite' class.
"Alright class, settle down", said the English teacher Mrs. Hamilton.
She begins the class by teaching the last few lines of "The Solitary Reaper", a beautiful poem by William Wordsworth. And just look at Millie, she's enjoying every line of the poetry while Susan is busy dying of boredom.
Ironic but that's the reality.
