Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

As the White family faces difficulties, various forces begin to watch, eager to seize an opportunity to benefit from the fallen giant's troubles. This might seem ruthless, but it's a common occurrence in the world of capital, where vultures circle waiting for their chance.

No one seems concerned about William's personal challenges. Instead, envy simmers beneath the surface, as many covet the enormous wealth he inherited. For ordinary people, this wealth is already astronomical, and even after paying a substantial estate tax, it remains a fortune.

Forbe notices that the young master seems to have matured overnight, even if he doesn't understand all the intricacies of the family business. He remains diligent in executing orders.

After dinner, William heads to the shooting range, a part of his vast castle. In Texas, almost everyone owns a gun, and carrying firearms in public is commonplace. This culture contributes to the state's excellent public safety record, as criminals are aware that Texans are well-armed and not to be trifled with.

Indoor shooting ranges in Texas are usually reserved for the wealthy, who often prefer hunting live animals over stationary targets. The continuous sounds of gunfire echo through the range as William sharpens his shooting skills.

"Master, your marksmanship is improving rapidly."

"It certainly seems that way. It appears that I need to practice more often."

"Do you still fence, Master?"

"No, I'm going for a swim."

Swimming is a form of relaxation for William, who makes his way to the pool. He takes note of improvements in his strength and vision, which he attributes to his unusual circumstances of crossing into a new life.

After a refreshing swim, William is attended to by a team of service staff. They help with haircare, skincare, nail care, and even a muscle massage. While such pampering isn't common in Texas, the White family has a history of British nobility, and they uphold certain traditions.

Back in his room, William begins writing and sketching diligently on a dozen sheets of paper. As a time traveler, he initially indulges in plagiarism, a straightforward and lucrative venture.

Currently, dark societal narratives are the most popular literary genre. Readers express dissatisfaction with the status quo and mistrust of the government. Writers who tap into this sentiment thrive.

William recognizes that "Forrest Gump" is an ideal project. He intends to make the book even more captivating, altering the ending and borrowing elements from the iconic movie adaptation. It's a quintessential American story, encompassing decades of the nation's history.

With a bestselling author's name, William gains entry into high society. Such a reputation opens doors to prestigious gatherings and opportunities. William's new book, though, will focus on current themes, aligning with the prevalent literary trend.

After his intense writing session, William acknowledges the late hour and encourages his maid, Anna, to retire for the night. The castle remains relatively quiet, with most of the cowboys asleep.

Texas's unique culture is punctuated by the prevalence of firearms and the implementation of "castle law." The state's residents cherish their independence and are quick to defend their property and personal space.

Wild wolves may roam other parts of Texas, but they generally avoid White Farm due to its proximity to large cities and other farms. Texans are known for their toughness, and stories of farmers singlehandedly defeating packs of wolves abound.

The Texan sense of pride is strong, with California being the only other state that rivals it. Both states often disregard the federal government's opinions, and the divisions from the Civil War still linger, particularly in Texas.

William continues writing comfortably in this environment, enjoying the amenities that come with being a wealthy author. With someone to cater to his needs and help him relax, he makes swift progress on his book.
