Chapter 30 - Chapter 30

After a lavish twenty-nine days on Ludovic's estate, Klaus underwent a remarkable metamorphosis. His once frail physique transformed into a finely sculpted form, as if an artist had meticulously chiseled away imperfections. Not only did his body change, but even his skin underwent a metamorphosis. The sickly pallor was replaced by a radiant, almost angelic glow.

While the subjectivity of beauty is often debated, a mere glance at Klaus's face could sway even the staunchest critics. His silver hair, now cascading to neck level, and deep blue eyes mirrored the serene reflection of a tranquil lake. With newfound strength, Klaus even experienced a growth spurt, now standing at an impressive 1m66(5'5).

In the preceding weeks, Klaus's bond with Greed deepened. Greed frequently offered him advice on effective sword trainings. Klaus's body had now attained the strength to execute the five stances of the first chapter of the Sword Ink of Destruction without relying on natural mana. When he infused natural mana into the stances, he could flawlessly perform the first three without taxing his body – all achieved without magical enhancement.

Upon his return to the annex residence, the maids were awe-struck by Klaus's drastic transformation, even Elisabeth, who had seen him just two weeks earlier.

"Young Master Klaus looks so handsome," remarked one maid.

"Your physique exudes the sturdiness of a seasoned swordsman," added another, gently touching Klaus's revitalized arms.

Elisabeth, Lina, and Ludovic stood at the entrance. Elisabeth's eyes welled up as she witnessed her son's approach, radiating a confidence beyond his twelve years.

As Klaus reached them, she sprinted towards him, enveloping him in a tight embrace.

"I've missed you so much, my baby," Elisabeth whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Klaus wiped her tears away with a gentle touch and smiled. "I've missed you too, Mom."

"Young Master!" Lina cried, running towards them and joining the group hug.

"You look so healthy. I'm overjoyed," Elisabeth said, examining Klaus's revitalized form.

"Come, we've prepared a small feast to celebrate your return," she declared, leading Klaus into the house.

They halted in front of Ludovic. Klaus offered a small bow.

"I heard rumors about you demolishing my training ground. Is it true?" Ludovic asked with a calm tone.

"I'm truly sorry, I didn't..." Klaus began before Ludovic interrupted him.

"Why apologize? At least now I know you're more than capable of defending yourself," Ludovic said, placing a reassuring hand on Klaus's shoulder.

Elisabeth observed father and son with a warm smile. She had always hoped for a stronger connection between them, especially since Klaus had only started to see his father when he was six. Though Ludovic attempted bi-monthly visits, their reserved natures created a small void. She yearned for a bond that surpassed the distant one between Ludovic and Roman.

After the feast, the maids discreetly granted Elisabeth, Ludovic, and Klaus some privacy. The trio engaged in small talk, with Elisabeth leading most of the conversation.

The day of departure arrived. Klaus left the annex residence with meticulously prepared luggage. Elisabeth, Ludovic, and the maids lined up in the garden, awaiting his departure.

"See you later," Klaus said, waving his hand under their watchful gaze.

"I'm glad I'm going alone," he thought. If Elisabeth had accompanied him, he wouldn't have reached the training ground. It was a relief that only trainees were allowed there.

"Are you parting with our son with that expression on your face?" Ludovic asked with a smooth tone.

"Hmm..." Elisabeth's expression softened at Ludovic's inquiry.

"Klaus," she said, fidgeting as she stood before him. She was still worried, but she couldn't bring herself to ask him to give up.

'After all the training he's endured, it would be selfish of me to ask him not to go' she thought, but said:

"Do your best, my baby," Elisabeth smiled, attempting to control her wavering mind and worries.

"I will, Mom," Klaus replied with a small smile.

Ludovic approached him, whispering something in his ear. Klaus nodded, then turned back, setting forth towards the Lionhart Youth training ground without hesitation.

"Is he going to be alright?" Elisabeth asked Ludovic, holding his hand.

"He's improved. He might even conquer the training at this rate," Ludovic replied confidently.

"I'm not even hoping for that. I just want him to return safe and sound."

"He will, dear."
