Chapter 3 - SAVED 2

*******

*Was that a dream?* she asked herself.

She sat up on the ground and her teary eyes roam around the strange environment that seems to be out of earth.

The flow of water and the chirping of the birds echoed in the cave.

she slowly turn her head and found a heart path-taking lake that shimmering with sliver light, beside it were flowers, glowing rose flowers, scattered around the whole place, bringing light to the cave, making it look like a beautiful spiritual world.

The night ruled over the day, causing everywhere to look magical and alluring in the sight.

"You are finally awake," a dip muscular voice startled her and she slowly turn and met a hazel eyes staring down at her with his hands folded on his chest.

He wore a long black hood that covered from his head down to his toes, his gerogerous mascular face were brightly seen in the dark.

"Look at how swallow your face is, it seems like you've been crying for years, tsk." he let out sarcastically.

Ariel became more terrified on seeing him, then she slowly open her mouth to speak.

"Wh-- who are you ? where is this place? where is my mother."

"Woo-hoo, easy dear, you gotta calm down, too many questions for me."

"Firstly, I'm Knox, secondly, here is the secret valley of the goddess' tears,"

"And thirdly, the woman you called your mother is dead, she couldn't make it, the hybrid beast killed her," he added causing Ariel to turned flabbergasted on hearing this, then he added;

"I was too late to help her, sorry for your lost," he said nonchalantly.

"You are lying, how dare you say something like that? How could you say that my mother is dead?" Ariel let out angrily.

"Listen, you don't know me, I was just passing by when I saw you laying lifelessly on the ground, I was surprised you survived," Knox let out truthfully.

Ariel didn't care about what he was saying, she just place her hand on the ground, trying to stand but couldn't.

"Ahhh!" she wailed as she felt an excruciating pain on her leg.

"Wh-- what-- what happened to me?" she asked with a hint of surprise.

"Well, you got to take it easy, I guess you sustained an injury while running."

"Is quite dip," he added.

"I don't care about this injury, I just wanna go to my mom right now," Ariel said while trying to stand.

She began to crawl trying her best to move as fast as she could.

Knox on seeing how pathetic the girl was, began to laugh.

Then he asked;

"What do you think you are doing?"

She ignored him and continued what she was doing.

"Your mother is dead, even tho you go back there, you still won't find her, so I brought you here because I saw you breathing." he blurted out.

"STOP IT!!!" She yelled fiercely at him

then she stood up.

"You don't know me and I don't care about your help, the woman you saw back there..... [shaking her head] wasn't my mother."

"I know, my mother is somewhere out there looking for me, so i'm going back there to look for her too, so don't you ever say that my own mother is dead," she vehemently voiced out as her voice o echoes in the cave.

Knox closed his eyes taking in a dip breath, he slowly exhaled, he blinked his eyes letting it fluctuate back to it normal color, then he stared down into her blue ones.

"Uou are quite a rude young lady, but lucky, I'm the type that controls my anger."

"No one..... I mean no one has ever spoken to me in such a manner, but I'm just letting you go free," he added.

Ariel pitiful expression was obvious for him to notice, then he sighed.

"Is okay, don't give me that look, I understand how you fee--"

"No," she cut him off

"You don't understand anything, you don't know how I'm feeling right now," she said as her voice cracked at the end.

"Okay, I believe when you see her belonging you will know right? he asked.

This question caused ariel to stand still and her heart began to race in her chest.

He stretched out his hand, using his power, he muttered a voice and a brown bag appeared and drop on the ground in front of her. Her hand trembles as she tried to pick it up.

"Where-- where did--- di-- did you find th-this?" She stammered as she questioned.

"I found it right beside her," he said truthfully

Ariel couldn't tell the kind of pain and emotions running through her right now.

She opened the bag and saw her mother's diary and her heart sank, her breathing became shallow, tears began to drip from her eyes down to her chest.

"Thanks for keeping this save and I apologise for what I said to you," she said whole heartily.

The she added;

"But I still have to go back and check it myself," she insisted.

"What if those creatures comes back for you?" Knox asked as he folded his hands on his chest.

"Is it not better you come with me so I will protect you?" knox suggested.

"No thanks," she rejected his offer.

"Thanks once more, for helping me," she added while bowing in appreciation.

"Well since you have insisted on going, then I wish you well,"

He then stretched out his hand on the air and a magical thread-like- light appeared from his hand and formed into a crystal stick.

"What--. What was that?" Ariel asked, mesmerized on seeing what he did.

"Seriously? Don't tell me you don't have magic?" Knox asked sarcastically.

"Magic, no," she replied truthfully.

 He then walk close to her and and squatted down to her feet.

This gesture took Ariel unawares and she quickly took a step back which caused her more pain on her leg making her to loss her balance but luckily, she was got by knox, then he gently sat her on a little rock before placing his hand on her leg but Ariel pushed him and said;

"Don't touch me."

"Oh gosh! I'm not touching you girl," he exclamined while rolling his eyes.

"I'm just trying to heal your injured leg, just stay still," he added.

The aggressive Ariel looked at his hand and noticed a glowing light coming out from his palm.

"Just free yourself, it won't hurt you," he urged her and with that, he slowly place his hand on her leg and the pain she felt disappeared and the wound began to close up.

"Th-- thanks," she appreciated politely.

"Take this, [he handed the crystal stick to her] use it for support, if you feel uncomfortable, okay?"

She then took the crystal stick and scanned it all around then he stood up.

"I think is time for me to go back," he let out tiredly as he rid his head to look at the sky.

He then closed his eyes and began to speak elders.

And a heavy wind began to blow, causing everything to move alone with it.

It didn't take long for a once fairy tale animal appeared majestically landed in there mist.

Making Ariel to turn utterly conflicted,

She didn't know whether to jump, dance, or cry for not knowing where exactly or what exactly happened to her mother.

"This-- this.. is a uni-- unicorn," she uttered as she stammered.

"How-- how come it exists," she asked while looking at the unicorn with a vary degree of surprise.

"Of course, it does exist," replied knox.

"I - I thought it was a fairy tale, am I dreaming?" she asked enthusiastically.

'What's with this sweet and painful thing?' She asked herself.

Knox softly brushed the hair on the unicorn's head.

"How are you, Lizzy?" Knox asked the unicorn and it nieghs...

"Good girl," he complemented her.

"Meet Lizzy, my pet," he said to Ariel.

Ariel turned mesmerized on hearing the word PET.

"You-- you pet a unicorn?" she asked surprised on what he said.

 "Yes," he replied firmly.

Then he added;

"We have been friends for a long time."

He materialized gently on Lizzy's back and it spread it's wind, ready to take off.
