She placed her two figures on her neck checking her pluse.
"She's dead." replied the woman as she smirked,
"can I have the body?" She added.
'Slap'
A hunter standing behind her slapped her across her face, she rised her head and licked her lips absorbing the fast of blood.
"Throw the body in the forest and let the eagles feed on her," commanded the head hunter and the continued their journey.
Ariel was now becoming more and more terrified.
"W-- who i-- is she?"
"Who? the one that was slapped?" he asked trying to know who she was referring to.
"Yes."
"she's a nurse,"
"A vampire nurse." he added causing Ariel to gasps! then he continued,
"The woman died because her body couldn't take any more torture. she's a human after all, so she can't survive it."
"Th-- this is awful, i--I don't want to die like her!" she cried out.

"You won't die, something tells me that you will survive this." he said trying to calm her down.
The bright stars shines brightly on ariel's face as she lay on the ground staring at the sky.
"The stars are beautiful!" Haven said while sitting up.
"Yeah, it is." she replied as she folds her hand on her chest.
"Are you okay?" asked haven on seeing how absent minded she was.
"What happened today, reminds me of my mother's death?"
She inhaled diply before exhaling slowly.
"My condolences," he said while staring at her
"The vampire nurse....y-- you told me about, what was her offends? I mean what is she doing here with us? why was she captured?" ariel asked confusedly.

"She was arrested."
"Arrested! why?" she asked sheepishly.
"She was an evil nurse, who eat babies," Ariel gasped on hearing this.
She slowly turn to the direction of the vampiress, she gasped on noticing her intensive gaze on her. she quickly flinch and the vampiress smirked at her causing Ariel to quickly look away.
Haven chuckled on seeing the fear and terror in ariel's eyes.
"Don't be scared she won't do anything to you."
She let out a sigh of relief then he continued;
"she works at Fred's hospital as a staff nurse, no one knew that she was a vampire till one day she was got feeding on child. Her follow staffs quickly consulted the hunters, she tried escaping but it wasn't easy to out run this hunters the entered her secret door and found skeletons of both adults and children, even the once that are yet to decay." he took a dip breath and continued,
"It was truly a tragedy, after she was captured, she was brutally tortured, she survived because she's an immortal."
Ariel couldn't control the tears rushing down her cheeks her mouth was left open not forming a word she just sat there, lost and hurt.
"Are you alright?"
she wiped her face and sniffed before swallowing her saliva.
"I keep on imagining, why people are so heartless, but how did you know all this?" she suddenly asked
"I overheard the hunters discussing it among themselves, the one narrating it said was among the hi hunters who captured her."
sighs....
"Look over there," he pointed at the other group of slaves laying on the ground
"The little girl sitting on her own, do you see her?"
"Yes, such a little girl what possible Crime would she has committed at this very age?" she sighed
"I pity her so much." She added.
Haven chuckled and said,
"Little girl? that girl you're seeing there, is a century old."
"What! She's also a vampire?"
Ariel's eyes widened on hearing this and immediately her eyes met with the girl's she smirked at her letting her see her sharp fangs causing her gasps befor turning back to haven.
"They possess an extraordinary hearing ability, they can hear whispers clear and loud, don't worry she won't come here." He said on seeing the questioning look on her face.
"What about you? what kin do you belong to?" her sudden question took him unawares, he didn't except it so soon.
"I'm-- I'm a human," he said as he smiled at her but the smiles quickly fell immediately she turned to look at the little girl again.
It was a long night and ariel was yet to fall asleep, she kept on wondering about the tale told to her by knox concerning her mother and also what her so called uncle did to her.
"You're still awake?" he soft voice startled her out of her thoughts.
"Likewise you." came her short reply
"I don't sleep at night," he spat out but suddenly corrected himself as he realized what he just said,
"I mean, I don't really sleep, I stay awake during this days." he added
"Did your father ever left your mother?"her question suprised haven.
He chuckled silently.
"You know, I was still a baby when she died, I really didn't know what happened between them, but base on my calculations and on what I heard from people, I realized that he so much care about her! he loved and cherished her so much. They told me after my mother's death, he never returned home till I turned one year, they said he sleeps beside her grave in the cemetery," He turn to face the sky before he continued,
"And he hated me for taking her away, he hates me so much, he never cared about me, he said I took his joy away. I didn't blame him because...." He trailed off as he look into her eyes,
"I will do the same If i were to be in his shoes."
Ariel's heart sanked on hearing this, then she spoke out in a whisper,
"I'm so sorry about what happened, it wasn't your fault."
"Please don't say sorry, you got nothing to do with it."
Everywhere became silence again and suddenly the began to hear whispers,
"What's that?" Ariel half whispered
"I don't know, wait let me check."
