The sound of coins filled the air as the pouch was placed in Lenon's hand.
"Three hundred gold exactly as promised. I've even added a little extra as a token of appreciation for helping us clear the road," Esmund stated as he handed the pouch of gold coins to Lenon.
In esmund's other hand, he held the rusty old armor that Lenon used to wear. Esmund clutched it eagerly, like a child with their favorite toy.
Without his armor, Lenon now stood clad only in a gray shirt and long pants.
"Then farewell, adventurers," Esmund said as he gazed towards Mamon and the others. He wasn't entirely sure if they were adventurers or not, but judging by their appearance, he addressed them as such for the moment. After all, their time spent together was coming to an end.
The carriage's movement had ceased, and the scenery outside remained frozen in a single picturesque moment.
