Chapter 31 - Strange creatures

"Y-you are the ruler of pride," replied Leviathan to Incarus' question after thinking for a bit with hesitation.

"Correct, and you know that makes me extremely proud of myself," said Incarus.

"And we can say the same for others as well. For example, if we talk about Ishtar, what does she rule over?"

" the sin of lust," replied Leviathan.

"And you can guess that it makes her extremely lustful," Incarus said as he stopped talking.

He turned around and looked into the deep forest again, taking a fresh breath.

"Others are the same. If we consider Tiamat, because she is the ruler of the sin of wrath, she is always angry."

"ugh, is she?" questioned Leviathan as he remembered how Tiamat behaved.

"Ah, my bad, I forgot you still haven't seen her true behavior.

The way she acts around others is completely false. Her true behavior is entirely violent, but she doesn't like her appearance in her true form. Because of that, she deliberately tries to act sweet and attractive in front of others," said incarus as he explain everything about tiamat.

"And don't try to be too friendly with her; she hates it when someone gets too close to her," he added.

[That explain her unusual behaviour]

Leviathan thought as he confirmed one of his mysteries.

"Acedia, Fafnir, and Preta are the same. They also behave according to their sins."

"That includes you too. In the grand hall, I boosted my self-esteem through the respect and admiration shown by the large crowd in front of me, which increased my strength. However, you, on the other hand, gained that feeling of empowerment by witnessing my rise in power and feeling envious about it. This means that you also act according to your sin, whether you knowingly or unknowingly," explained Incarus.

"Now, all you have to do is let that feeling of your sin into your heart and act accordingly. You don't have to try so hard; it will come naturally to you because you're the ruler of envy. Let your instincts guide you on your path," Incarus advised, turning towards Leviathan.

["Let my instincts guide me on my path; I'm not sure I can do that,"] thought Leviathan, doubting himself. But upon seeing Incarus looking at him, he replied, "I'll try as you said."

"Like I said before, don't try so hard; it will come to you naturally," Incarus reassured.

"Okay," Leviathan nodded in understanding.

"But, how powerful can I become with my sin?" Leviathan asked curiously.

After the question, Incarus looked at Leviathan's face and let out a small laugh. "That's a question even I don't have an answer to," he replied.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is none of us are at our full power. What we do is harness the power from our sins continuously to achieve the complete form of our sins, but so far, none of us have achieved it."

"Wait, are you saying you're not in your complete form now?" Leviathan asked, confused.

"Yeah, that's what I said."

"Not even in your previous world?"

"Nope."

[What the hell, we've gone through hell to defeat these guys when they were in Avlora. And now he's telling me that he's not at his full power level there. This is some... nonsense.

But if so,

how powerful will they be if they achieve their full form?] thought Leviathan, wondering.

"AH!"

However, at that moment, through the branches of the trees, a ray of sunlight gleamed on Leviathan's face, momentarily blinding his vision.

Disturbed by this, his thoughts broke, and he focused on what lay in front of him.

"I wonder what's in the far corner of this forest," he said as he looked into the deep woods.

"Why don't we go and take a look then?" Incarus replied upon hearing what Leviathan said.

"Can we? Isn't it dangerous to go far away alone without telling the others?" Leviathan asked hesitantly.

"Quit acting like a baby and follow me. Did you forget who I am?"

Incarus jumped into the sky, encouraging Leviathan.

"You're the leader, so..." Leviathan agreed with himself and jumped into the sky, following behind Incarus.

As the two of them flew up, the first thing that came into Leviathan's vision was the golden sun in the sky, and its shine spread all around the forest, adding a strange, luxurious touch to the forest's beauty.

Because they flew a bit higher than the forest level, the two of them got a full view of what was in the forest.

Most of it was plain trees and plants that he had no knowledge about. Even though he tried to look for some creatures in the forest, none of them came into his vision due to the thickness of the trees, which were far larger than the creatures. The higher levels of the forest were almost covered by the trees, making the ground below a bit darker.

However, not all parts of the forest were like this. After some time of flying, Leviathan's eyes lit up as he caught sight of an unknown creature.

The creature had a body that resembled the size of an mammoth from his previous world, but that's where the similarities ended. The rest of its body resembled that of a deer, with abnormally huge antlers on its head.

The antlers shined with a light blue and purple color, while its body was a dark gray shade. What amazed Leviathan the most was the shape of its antlers.

Like branches of a tree, the two antlers on its forehead formed a shape that attracted most of Leviathan's attention.
