Chapter 45 - Rain

In the sanctuary, Khanel is sitting at his table with some letters in his hand, reading them. His face frowns a bit.

"So she has that kind of ability."

Putting the letters aside, he took out a blank paper and begins to write something on it.

Creak!

Pushing his chair aside, he stood up and walks toward the room door.

Opening it.

"Give these to Ronald and tell him to inform Gaya as well."

He said to the priest who was at the moment watering some plants in Khanel's garden.

"Yes, elder," hearing his command, the priest hurriedly put the water bucket aside and walked toward him, taking the letter.

"And where are the salvation beings at the moment?" at the same time, Khanel asked from him.

"At the moment, Lord Incarus and Lord Tiamat are waiting for the elder's report in the grand hall," replied the priest.

Hearing that, Khanel became a little tense.

"Why are you telling me that now? How long have they been waiting for me?" he exclaimed.

"from yesterday," lowering his head, the priest answered.

This upset Khenl's mood even more.

"Hurry up and run and give that to Ronald," he said and closed the door loudly.

Walking toward his table, Khanel gathered some letters that were scattered on it.

"Old man, why don't you let me get a hold of you?* Your walking speed is slower than a snail," Leviathan muttered in a tired tone, walking behind him.

It's been a few hours since they began to walk toward the beast area. But even after walking that much, they did not go too deep into the forest because of the slow pace of the old man.

"Humph, when I was younger, there was no one in this area who dared to make fun of me," said the old man with an ugly expression on his face.

"Well, now you're old, so take it," Leviathan said with an even more annoying voice.

"Just a bit ahead, wait till we get there," upset by Leviathan, the old man muttered after a few minutes of silence.

Gruhh!

At that time, a sound of a huge rumbling spread around the whole forest, shaking even tree leaves.

Leviathan looked toward the sky where a huge black cloud was spreading above the forest, making its way toward them at a fast speed.

"Bad timing, I think it's gonna rain," looking at the black cloud, the old man muttered.

"Forget about the beast then. I don't want to get caught in the rain," Leviathan said, observing the huge amount of rain falling from the cloud toward the forest.

"I'm gonna head back, old man," said Leviathan as he flew toward the sky.

[Hope I never see you again]

But as he flew upward, he suddenly stopped. More accurately, he was grabbed.

"What's the hurry?" the old man's voice was heard, but it changed to a more deep and eerie tone when he finished speaking.

"What the..." Leviathan looked back with confusion, but his words stopped halfway through.

The old man was holding Leviathan by his leg, and when he tried to move his leg, he realized he couldn't move it at all.

"What's going on, old man? What's this sudden change in the mood?" Leviathan looked at the old man's face.

His face, which was previously old and worn out, now added an eerie smile, and the corners of his mouth stretched to the sides until they got close to his ears, making his smile appear more eerie than happy.

"So, you are not an old man after all."

His face began to change as he smiled. Starting from his face, his whole body began to become liquid-like, but the hand that held Leviathan's leg never let go of it.

Bulb! Bulb!

Bubbles came out from his body from time to time.

After his whole body became liquid, it began to rise upward until it was at the same height as Leviathan.

As it reached the same height as Leviathan, it began to solidify.

Just as before, starting from his face, a strange creature began to manifest in front of Leviathan.

Leviathan looked at this phenomenon without an inch of trouble showing on his face.

The creature in front of him had a skeletal face, but it didn't resemble a normal human.

It had all the features of a human skull, but it had abnormally large two horns coming out from each side of its forehead.

At the moment, a liquid oozed out from its empty eye sockets, spreading over the skeleton face, forming a new face for it.

Trying with all his strength, Leviathan attempted to pull back his leg, but the hand that grabbed it tightened its grip, preventing Leviathan from freeing his leg.

At that moment, the creature completed its transformation.

Its face still had a skeletal appearance, but on its surface, the previous liquid had become a wax-like, transparent substance, spreading across its entire body, covering it and becoming its skin, a transparent skin.

"Did you figure out I'm not an old man before this?" the strange creature asked.

"Not at all, I really thought you were an old man."

"Then why are you not surprised or scared?"

"Who knows, I'm as confused as you are."

Leviathan looked at his body. He was really confused at the moment. Even though a bizarre thing like this happened in front of his face, he wasn't a bit surprised or scared. In fact, he was in a more focused mode than he had ever been.

[Is this some kind of effect from my sin?] Leviathan wondered.

Putting those thoughts aside, he looked at the figure in front of him.

"So who are you?"

But the next moment, the figure raised its hand and with its fist, struck toward Leviathan.

Seeing the incoming attack, Leviathan hurriedly held his two hands in front of him in an "X" shape to cover his front.

Boom!

With the strike landed, Leviathan was thrown back, crushing the trees in his path, he landed below a huge tree.

"Uggh!"

"What... was that about?" Leviathan tried to get up, but as he did, he felt his hands shake.

Standing up, he rubbed his hands, which were still trembling.

[Not good, something is wrong. Why is he attacking me?] Leviathan looked at the figure.

But the figure did not appear in its previous spot. Instead, it appeared right in front of Leviathan, with its hand moving slightly to the back, preparing to deliver another blow to him.

Whoosh!

The figure struck, but the blow did not land on Leviathan. He looked back and upward, where Leviathan was now located.

The blazing wings in Leviathan's hand were shining with a red color, and a celestial wing mark appeared on its surface.

Leviathan felt a burning sensation from it to his hand.

"I managed to evade that guy's blow using the true ability of the blaze wings. I probably can't use it for another one or two weeks."*

Looking down,

"Dammit, why is this guy attacking me out of nowhere?"
