Chapter 53 - I am Ironman

Tony was undoubtedly in danger, but two people didn't allow Loki to kill him. Hawkeye's arrow reached Loki's feet and exploded into a smoke curtain.

Loki mocked and created a gust of wind that dispersed the smoke; at that moment, he saw Hawkeye smiling while pointing at the sky.

"RAAGHHH!"

Hulk landed with both fists while Loki created a green shield of magic to defend himself. Hulk hit that shield, creating a shockwave and cracking the ground.

"Savage creature!! Is shouting all you know?!" Loki yelled angrily. He felt the pressure of Hulk's blows becoming greater than before, he was struggling to contain Hulk's strength.

"Monster!" Loki shouted, and the ground turned into iron spikes covered with a penetration spell. They immediately accelerated and impacted Hulk all over his body; most broke upon contact, but one pierced Hulk's impenetrable abdomen.

"RAAAGGHHH!!"

Instead of complaining, Hulk became even more enraged and started beating Loki's shield wildly; cracks spread across its entire surface. Loki was amazed that such a monster existed in Midgard. Against his pride and unable to help it, Loki teleported away from Hulk.

Doing something like that in front of a creature he considered inferior was humiliating, but with no time to complain three arrows hit him, exploding directly upon impact.

Loki repelled the explosion and was about to shout, annoyed by such an attack. At that moment, an incredibly powerful shot hit him, leaving him unable to defend himself, and sending him flying.

"Ahhh!" Loki cried out in pain.

The God of Lies underestimated Midgard, underestimated his opponents, and, above all, set aside rational thought due to the anger he felt.

...

Natasha appeared not far away, holding the portable railgun Allen had given her. One shouldn't underestimate this weapon; in RE: Vendetta, it was used once and pierced the mutated villain and four buildings, almost destroying them completely. Unfortunately, it can only be used once a day because it's of a green grade.

The helicopter flew low, and Hawkeye descended on a rope. Natasha arrived using the teleportation pendant, so she was even faster than Clint in reaching there.

"It's good to see you in action again, Natasha," Clint smiled at his former companion who had retired more than a decade ago.

Natasha nodded while feeling down, "Don't mention it, I only came because Fury wouldn't stop bothering me to contact Allen."

"Haha, it's tough having kids, I know," Clint laughed, remembering his two kids, but that comment made Natasha feel ashamed. She was Allen's aunt but technically she was his adoptive mother on paper, and yet right now, their relationship had become scandalous in the eyes of others...

"Is something wrong?" Hawkeye noticed the slight blush on Natasha's face as she thought about Allen.

"It's nothing..." Natasha replied, clearing her throat.

Tony landed and opened his helmet, "Still not the reinforcements I expected, but I'm glad to have more help, and at least this time, it's someone who doesn't reek of testosterone."

Natasha smirked mockingly at Stark's pretentious attitude as she placed the railgun on her shoulder. "Stark, even after denying to work for SHIELD for so long, you ended up working for SHIELD. Where's your pride?"

"Hey, don't tarnish my image, Romanoff. I only followed your 'son's' advice and acted after gaining a benefit," Tony pretended to be indignant but inwardly mocked Natasha. He knew the reason Allen decided to live alone was that he was afraid of succumbing to temptation with his aunt.

At first, Tony teased Allen for such a silly problem, but after knowing who that famous aunt was, Tony pitied him. He couldn't imagine the torture of living with Natasha every day without thinking about "that."

Hulk landed beside them with a frustrated expression. "Hulk is hungry, metal man!"

"I'll buy you a supermarket if you defeat that guy."

"Hulk want... but horned man run from Hulk... horned man coward!" Hulk growled in the direction where Loki was.

Tony shook his head and smiled, not a lie; he had his doubts about Hulk, and despite Allen asking him to trust him, that concern didn't disappear. Hulk tends to be terrifying, but Tony started feeling that they judged him too soon; of course, that doesn't change that he's dangerous if he gets too angry.

Tony stopped worrying about trivial things to focus on Loki.

Speaking of Loki, he appeared furious not far from them. "MORTALS!! HOW DARE YOU HARM A GOD?!"

"I'm an atheist..." Tony responded cynically as he mocked Loki, although deep down, he was impressed to see Loki still fine after being attacked by Natasha's weapon.

"I believe in Christ the King," Hawkeye said in a mocking tone, and it wasn't known if it was true or not.

"Hulk no know what be god, HULK SMASH HORNED MAN!!" As expected, the big green guy had no idea about things like religion.

Natasha didn't respond; she didn't want to get involved in the joint mockery of Loki. In her mind, there was only Allen, and she was angry with Loki for keeping her away from him.

"Hahaha... my father along with all the gods from different pantheons once set foot on Midgard like any creature... however... due to the Celestials, the intervention of the gods ceased to be present..." Loki's voice became dark as his magic enveloped his scepter. "It seems I must remind everyone that it is the entity called god...."

"I AM LOKI!!"

Loki's scepter struck the ground, and a wave of green energy spread in all directions for several miles.

"I have a bad feeling, Jarvis?"

"Sir, I detect movement on the surface within a three-mile radius."

From the ground emerged humanoid creatures made of stone; shortly after, everyone realized it was an army of thousands of rock golems ranging in size from thirteen to nineteen feet tall.

Loki is a powerful sorcerer with centuries of learning magic to compensate for his weakness against Thor. He has been a disciple of characters that rival the ancient one who trained Doctor Strange. After centuries of learning magic, something like altering matter and giving life to inanimate objects is not impossible for him.

Hulk was the first to shout as he charged at a three-meter golem, grabbed it by the head, and threw it down, knocking over three more. The golems didn't stay still; one struck him in the head almost immediately. The golems were surprisingly fast in their movements.

The golem's fist disintegrated against Hulk's head, but far from hurting him, it angered him. Hulk roared and clapped, turning the golem into dust; then, he jumped and landed amid the hundreds of golems, creating a large crater and destroying a dozen golems in the process. The green monster roared as he ran towards more golems like an unstoppable force.

...

"I knew I had to drag Allen away from here..." Natasha sighed, disheartened, then stowed the portable railgun and pulled out a green-grade anti-material rifle.

Its power is similar to a regular anti-tank rifle, but being of green grade, it has the characteristic of having zero recoil.

Which means...

One of the three-meter golems tried to attack Natasha; she jumped backward, somersaulting in the air, then aimed at the golem before even landing and fired, shattering the top of the golem and knocking down two more golems. If it were a regular anti-material rifle, Natasha would have been violently pushed backward by the recoil and might have been hurt.

Natasha looked at the army of golems, propped the rifle on the ground, and reloaded as the huge bullet casing was coming out of the chamber.

"There are too many..."

Seeing Hulk and Natasha in combat, Clint didn't stay behind. He pulled out three arrows in a single motion, smiled, and aimed at the heads of three golems. The arrows hit their mark with a massive explosion that demolished the heads of the three golems, causing them to fall onto three smaller golems, crushing them.

Hawkeye lowered his bow slowly, smiling, "Why to kill two birds with one stone when you can kill six golems with three arrows?... yeah, bad joke"

...

Tony looked at more than two thousand golems from the sky and accelerated above them, releasing a large number of explosive charges. With his actions, Tony was able to destroy two dozen golems and leave many more damaged.

People would laugh if they saw this because the government currently wants Tony Stark's armor technology, but he refuses, claiming they aren't weapons but sophisticated prosthetics.

"Sir, there's no more ammunition, and the suit's capability is rapidly declining..." Jarvis informed Tony from inside the armor.

Tony wasn't nervous upon hearing from Jarvis; he observed the situation calmly. The others were fighting, and Loki was watching from a distance.

"We're lucky Loki is the kind of arrogant villain who watches from afar and not a Doomsday," Tony suddenly felt uneasy but ignored it. "Jarvis, how much time?"

"Estimated arrival, in ten seconds."

"That's practically now..." Tony looked at the sky and saw a flash before flying towards it at full speed.

"Sir, the current ARK reactor doesn't have enough energy to power that suit..."

Tony thought for a moment and estimated that his current reactor could support his new armor for five minutes. "That's why I installed an extra ARK reactor in the suit itself. No matter, we just have to hold on until the cavalry arrives."

Tony was referring to Allen. Although he is young, he is still capable of facing beings like Doomsday and the unleashed Hulk. Some might think Tony is a son of a b... for trusting a young person to save the world, but regardless of his age and Tony calling him "kid"Tony respects Allen and doesn't want to insult him by treating him like a brat, something Allen doesn't want either.

Tony's armor opened, and the man jumped into the air in an act that could be seen as suicidal. However, another object flying at high speed caught up with him and opened, taking the form of an armor that adhered to his body in the air. On closer inspection, the armor could be seen as silver-colored, unlike the red and gold that Stark always wears.

'The existence of mutants made me realize how dangerous the world is. That's why I've been designing unconventional new armors day and night.' Tony closed his eyes.'Seeing Doomsday gave me the idea of making an armor that adapts like that monster, but it remains in conceptual art. Currently, I can only create a prototype that's not worth mentioning.'

"Miss Romanoff, may I borrow your railgun for a moment?"

Natasha had an earpiece and received Tony's request... she was about to refuse when she heard Tony's words.

"I previously asked Allen for permission, and he agreed," Tony added.

Natasha didn't refuse anymore and pulled out the railgun and tossed it into the air. The armor began to change color to red and gold as Tony accelerated.

Tony caught the railgun, and a scanner passed over the weapon. After a moment, Tony threw the railgun back to Natasha and remained suspended in the air.

"I don't like you looking down on me, mortal." Loki looked disdainfully at Tony in the sky and aimed his scepter to use magic against him. "Do you think a new toy will be of any use?!"

"Connecting to interface, all systems online, sir, unexpectedly, no explosion..." Jarvis inside the armor was equally surprised by this result.

"What did I expect? I created it..." Tony responded lightly, but he had a cold sweat on his back because this was just an unfinished prototype that could explode. "Loki, this toy is the prototype Prime Armor Model 0.1.2."

"And what of it?" Loki scoffed. "I am a god!"

Model Prime... in the comics, that name has only been used for Tony Stark's ultimate armor, an armor that can transform into all of Tony's previous armor. But this time, the genius went further.

The arms of the Prime prototype transformed into two rail cannons, surprising everyone except Hulk, who didn't understand what was happening.

"You may be a God but... I am Ironman!"

Tony aimed at Loki, and the latter opened his eyes, feeling chills, but he was a step slower in reacting, surpassing the speed of sound many times, two massive shots hit Loki directly and defenselessly.

"AAAHHHHHHHHH!!" Loki screamed as he was swallowed by the explosion of dust and rock. The thunderous sound echoed through the sky.

It's said that potential evolves most under extreme pressure. Allen is a good witness to that. Since becoming a superhero, Tony has constantly faced dangerous mutants alone, forcing him to adapt or die.

The prototype of the ultimate armor, now in red and gold, shone in the sky. By the way, Tony gave him another name besides Ironman Prime, and is... The WalkerBuster,

Of course, Allen knows about that and just laughed like never before.

...

Allen stopped at a shop to revive the overconfident soldier who had indeed lost the Gulag; of course, he wasn't a real soldier, he just liked to act that way in matches. Allen won't make negative comments about that; he also has a dark past trying the Kamehameha as a kid, and it's something he'll take to the grave.

"Thanks!" The player with the soldier's skin fell from the sky with his parachute, grateful for being revived, and entered a pharmacy to get a weapon.

"It seems he learned not to be so impulsive." Allen was satisfied with the player's improved attitude. Progress is made little by little; who knows, maybe in a year, this guy will be at the top worldwide.

*Boom*

"..."

Allen froze upon hearing the explosion inside the pharmacy and the fallen teammate's notification.

"Your friend blew up! Hahaha!" Rebecca was juggling her shotgun beside him. "What do we do now?!"

Allen sighed, "To be honest, we should try to win since we've reached this point... but it seems we enjoy a greater advantage by not being limited to the movements of a character."

That was a reality; Wednesday, Rebecca, and Allen had a virtual body, so they could do things that others couldn't due to the game's limitations.

[Host, don't worry...]

With the system's words, a notification arrived for all players, offering the option to participate with a virtual body.

'System, did you do what I think you did?'

[That's correct...]
