In a hospital bed, Mark Grayson lay without a trace of being Invincible, his muscles tensed, and his eyelids twitched as if he were about to wake up but also as if he were in the middle of a nightmare.
Invincible's life changed after awakening his Viltrumite powers. He went from being the boy who always looked at his father, Omni-Man, with envy, admiration, and regret, to having the chance to stand by his side.
His life changed from that day on. His dream had come true, and Mark couldn't wait to test his powers. His first victory was clumsy and lucky against Titan, not realizing what it would lead to in the future. But that was something Mark didn't know, and for him, a win was a win.
Mark Grayson was no longer Nolan Grayson's useless son. To convince himself, he dared to call himself "Invincible." After all, Omni-Man's name had a simple meaning: "The man who can handle everything" or "The man who can do anything." And as his son, Mark wasn't going to have a less impressive name.
That was the birth of Invincible, the strongest hero of all... or so it should have been...
Mark received his first dose of reality when he was struck by his father. Just one punch was enough to leave him breathless and in incapacitating pain. Mark thought this would be a walk in the park since, being the son of the strongest, of course, he would be the strongest. But that wasn't the case.
Unlike his father, Mark felt the blows from others. He was often struck by a laser or a supervillain capable of overcoming his defenses. Of course, this lessened with time, and although for a moment he got nervous, deep down he thought, "I'm Omni-Man's son. I don't have to worry."
With this in mind, Invincible, despite knowing there were people he couldn't defeat, including a thug called "The Regulator," thought that he would eventually catch up to him and be able to beat him up. Mark just had to endure and wait for that day. It didn't matter if he was beaten and humiliated; it didn't matter if he felt jealous of someone else. Eventually, he would surpass them.
He waited for that day and continued with his work as a superhero, but one day, fate came knocking at his door. The first villain he defeated, Titan, convinced him that he had never wanted to be a villain and that he was under threat from Machine Head. Titan even went so far as to show Invincible his wife and daughter.
Mark, believing his words, agreed to help him, but this led to a fight with his father when he told him about it. Nolan argued that catching criminals wasn't a job for superheroes like them. They had to fight against gods, save the world from invasions, and stop meteorites. On the other hand, trusting a supervillain was foolish. Mark, convinced that this time he was right, ignored his father's warning, which led him to fall into a trap.
Machine Head was already waiting for them, no, to be precise, he was waiting for someone else. But since they arrived at the worst possible time, they had to face Machine Head's henchmen. Mark had underestimated him. He didn't expect a crime boss to have such strong bodyguards.
Once struck by the power difference, Mark felt scared, helpless, and weak. At that moment, as Battle Beast walked toward him, he felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over him. He wanted to ask for help but realized how ironic and pathetic that would be. He was the help, he was the reinforcement. Who would he ask for help?
Mark just crawled, and when he looked for Titan, he realized he had discreetly hidden in a corner. Mark looked at him pleadingly, but Titan had a cold look in his eyes. At that moment, Mark felt deceived. He had even fought with his father to help him, and now Titan abandoned him.
Whether by luck, destiny, or the power of the script, the new Guardians of the Globe appeared. They saved him and started fighting the supervillains. For a moment, he regained hope, but it was quickly crushed when he saw Battle Beast finish off Sansom and Rex in an instant. He stood up and saw Monster Girl and tried to help her... but Battle Beast only showed mercy to the weak once.
Blood spilled from his chest as the cold sensation of death spread through his body, slowly robbing him of mobility.
Invincible looked at his body. He had been killed, or at least, common sense told him that. When he saw his intestines spilling from his body, the most terrifying fear enveloped him.
Mark surrendered… for a moment, he simply stared at the ceiling, not caring about anything else. He had been defeated. He had been defeated by the power difference so vast that, until that moment, he felt he had been nothing more than a clown.
"They're my women…"
...
(To some Allen will be a shameless pervert, to others a man of culture, but one thing is clear he is not afraid to make statements like the above, that deserves respect. 🍷🗿)
...
Mark was brought back to reality when the calm voice of someone he hated reached his ears. Looking, he saw his nemesis, the man he promised to beat once he caught up to him. But, like on Mars, like in his training, this man always gave the impression of being an unbreakable wall. Someone who was simply too strong to overcome.
'Allen... Walker... you'
As Mark lay on the floor, Allen's eyes remained fixed on Battle Beast; inside, there was an immeasurable calm. On the other side, Battle Beast was excited; his aura enveloped the area like a mist of death and blood. Mark understood that even the lion who left him in this state wasn't taking this fight seriously.
'How can I become so strong? How can I look at my opponents like this? How can I catch up to you?'
Mark was carried by Robot and taken away from the scene, He could only listen to the explosions, realizing that he was not qualified to be on this battlefield before losing consciousness. When he woke up in the hospital, five days had passed.
Rex and Black Samson woke up earlier because their injuries were minor, and Black Samson even regained his powers during the operation, saving his own life.
"Mark!"
His mother hugged him, still in the bed. His father looked at him worriedly. Mark lowered his head. He knew he had been wrong, and everything that happened was his fault. He had even put his friends in danger. In the following days, his friends visited him, but soon after, he was discharged. However, his problems didn't end...
He was in trouble. His personal problems as a hero had caused him to neglect his girlfriend. As a result, she had been pressuring him to dedicate more time to her. This occurred even when Allen was taking on the part of Mark's villains, and as a result, it lessened the superhero's workload and left him more time to be a boyfriend. Of course, this wasn't intentional.
Mark decided to change the environment to clear his mind, convinced by his best friend, William. Once at university, Mark decided to relax, and his life slowed down. The only incident was when a guy named Sinclair argued in class that humans were imperfect and that once they accepted that and decided to correct it through technology, humanity would make a leap into a new era.
Amber even fought with Sinclair, and seeing that things were going to escalate, Mark wanted to intervene, but Ricky, William's friend and romantic interest, beat him to it. Afterward, he saw the disappointment in Amber's eyes.
...
Mark walked across campus until he was reached by Eve.
"Trouble in paradise?" she teased. She had seen everything.
"Eve... thanks for reminding me," Mark sighed. "I try to be a good boyfriend, but Amber is so temperamental..."
Eve smiled and shrugged, "Well, no one's perfect, just look at me. My boyfriend's a womanizer, haha."
Mark looked at Eve incredulously. One would expect such a statement to be tragic, lamentable, and a reason for people to make fun of her. However, her voice and expression exuded happiness, and she even seemed proud of it. Of course, Mark never imagined what lay behind the guy who made Eve accept such a relationship.
"I envy you, Eve. I'm supposed to be the happy one, but I feel like a fool."
Eve shook her head, "You're not a fool. To be honest, Amber... she's not an easy girl to please."
Mark smiled bitterly, "Just say it... I won't be offended."
Eve looked Mark in the eyes, and seeing that he already knew what she was about to say, she didn't hesitate, "Your girlfriend's a pain in the ass."
Mark couldn't help but laugh, just like Eve. However, this was overheard by the one person it shouldn't have been.
"So, that's what you think of me?"
Amber's cold voice came from behind them. Mark went pale and tried to explain himself, but Amber ignored him and left.
Eve watched this silently before pulling out her phone and calling.
"What's up, Eve?"
"It's nothing... I just wanted to hear your voice..."
"If you feel lonely, I can come over. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary..."
In the background of the call, pleas could be heard, "No, don't do it! I have a wife and kids!"
"Sorry, Eve, give me a moment."
"Of course~"
'You should have thought about that before throwing trash in front of me! $20,000 fine, deal with it!' – 'But that's too much, I don't have that kind of money...' – 'I see. There's always a Plan B: you can eat the trash and avoid the fine.' – 'Huh?... B-but it's plastic...' – 'I don't care! Want to see your family again? Eat it and shut up!'
"Hehe~" Eve blinked, feeling pity for whoever the poor devil was who had the misfortune of encountering Allen. Love is terrifying; if Eve didn't feel something for Allen at that moment, she might have criticized his actions, might have said something, but right now, she was indulgent and only smiled warmly, as though Allen was feeding the needy, not forcing a man to eat trash.
Regardless of his methods, no one can deny that Allen has lowered the crime rate. Everyone is afraid to meet him and knows he enjoys roaming the streets disguised to save the day. Even people have started to use Mr. Walker as a horror story in rehabilitation therapies and juvenile detention centers.
"I'm ready, Eve..." Allen appeared behind the girl and hugged her.
"Ah!... Don't scare me~" She was surprised by the sudden attack but quickly relaxed in his arms.
Allen turned her around to face him, but when Eve saw that Allen was wearing a fake mustache, she laughed.
"What are you doing? Hahaha!"
Allen combed his fingers through his mustache. "I have to do it; it's well known that Atom Eve is dating Allen Walker, but not that Samantha Eve Wilkins is with me..."
Eve blinked for a moment before smiling affectionately. She hadn't thought of something like that, or rather, she didn't care about revealing it. She would be more than happy to see the faces of Allen's fan club at university when they find out she's sleeping with their platonic love.
"Allen... can I ask you to tell me if you ever think I'm being annoying, spoiled, or bad-tempered without reason?" Eve rested her face on his chest. "I know you can be indulgent because you feel you owe me for accepting your relationship with other girls..."
"If it's important to you, I'll do it," Allen lifted Eve's face and gave her a quick kiss. "But I want you to know that I even find Yandere's behavior cute, so there's nothing you could do to make me uncomfortable~"
Eve blushed at the kiss. "I just don't want you to ever feel like you can't tell me when I'm being a bitch."
"Oh, that includes intimacy, because I like it when you act like that~"
Eve turned even redder and hit Allen in the chest. However, before she could get more upset, Allen kissed her again, introducing his tongue. She symbolically struggled for a second before embracing him and responding.
At the same time, people started gathering around them.
"Hey, why is Allen Walker wearing a fake mustache while kissing a girl?"
"Do you think she's Atom Eve?"
Well, now that I think about it, she has the same hair and eyes build, figure, everything is the same. Allen heard the murmurs and raised his hand where there was a Neuralyzer. He pressed the button, erasing the memory of everyone there.
"Was that really necessary..." Eve panted, holding herself up against Allen's chest with difficulty. Her body felt weak, and her heart was racing uncontrollably.
"Yes, now what do you say we continue this in a more intimate setting?"
Allen picked Eve up like a princess and opened a portal to his apartment. When she realized his intentions, she blushed but instead of refusing, she clung to his neck and hid her face.
"Boom*
Allen heard screams and frowned, "Of course..."
He teleported to the top of a building only to see Invincible being beaten by a Robot, although it was more of a cyborg.
"So Sinclair is still free..."
Invincible was caught off guard; this cyborg was stronger than he had anticipated, but soon he started fighting back.
The cyborg was a Reanimen, humans who were forced to integrate mechanical parts into their bodies. This was done by Sinclair, a mad scientist who believed humanity should accept machines in their bodies, very Warhammer 40K style. These Reanimen were very strong, but Mark should be able to handle it.
"Allen..." Eve grabbed Allen's clothes, her expression hopeful and somewhat spoiled, her intentions clear that she wanted to help her friend.
Allen sighed, and Eve hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you..."
Allen gave Eve a piercing look. "I hope you won't refuse my requests when the time comes, Eve~"
The girl turned redder at the thought of what her boyfriend might ask her to do. But she nodded silently, her face burning with embarrassment.
Mark, who was being pressured by the mechanical zombie, was annoyed with Allen. Of course, he saw him show up, and instead of lending a hand, he was flirting with Eve, standing on top of a building.
Allen lowered Eve, and she slapped him before giving him a cheeky look. Allen smiled knowingly, signaling that she would pay for this later. Eve shuddered but returned a confident smile, knowing they would come for her if she dared.
Allen shook his head; he had plenty of women around, and Eve's type wasn't ashamed of these things.
...
"Hello," Allen appeared above the Reanimen. The creature seemed to want to say something as soon as it saw Allen but didn't have time before Allen kicked it into the ground.
The Reanimen stood up furious and attacked Allen with its metal claw. Allen grabbed the claw, crushed it, and then punched it, breaking its strange one-eyed helmet. The blow was so strong that the Reanimen stood still, dazed, before falling to the ground.
"You took too long!" Mark complained as he stood up from the ground.
"Oh, sorry Invincible, I didn't think you needed my help..." Allen mocked Invincible's disheveled appearance.
"Urgh... this guy caught me by surprise." Mark wiped the blood from his mouth.
"This guy... eh" Allen squinted at the Reanimen, then gave Mark a meaningful look, "Don't you recognize him?"
Mark was stunned by the sudden change in Allen's demeanor. He then looked at the exposed face of the Reanimen.
"Doug!"
Mark, of course, recognized the bully from his old school, but looking at how his body had grotesquely merged with a machine, something that would make Frankenstein proud, Mark felt dizzy.
"How did this happen?!"
Allen didn't answer Mark's question; instead, he scanned the surroundings, looking for Sinclair. He definitely wanted to see how his creation would behave against a Viltrumite.
Allen sharpened his gaze in one direction. "Looks like we've got a Frankenstein on our hands."
...
Behind a tree, a small drone observed the end of the battle.
"That damn meddler!" Sinclair bit his nails in frustration. "Well, no matter, the data from my last creation showed that we're ready for mass production..."
Sinclair walked toward two more Reanimen, smiling with pleasure. The world would rise to new heights at his hand. Sinclair laughed maniacally like a complete madman.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!... If only I had a stronger human as raw material, someone like Allen Walker... I'd definitely show all the aliens that humanity has the potential to be perfect!"
...
Allen felt displeasure as if a complete degenerate pervert was targeting his body, "Sinclair!"
